This is a very good video.. I have a color laser printer that was repeating text every few inches but in a lighter shade, each image faded more than the previous image. I noticed that the image was well fused to the paper, so the issue was not the fuser. I created and printed my own sheet with blocks of each color, K,Y,M,C with each block surrounded by a black border. This was only printed once at the top of the sheet. When printed, ONLY the Black (K) image repeated down the page, including the black outlines of the color blocks. The 3 other colors printed only once and were well fused to the paper. Conclusion: The Black (K) Drum is bad and needs to be replaced. btw... to make your test sheet in Paint or some other program, you need to convert RGB to CYMK. This conversion is R+G=>Y, R+B=>M, G+B=>C *** Use color values of 255 for each. @@viandant5 I ended up having to junk the printer and get a new one. You forgot to mention cause of ghosting picture is PCR (primary charge roller) which is in contact with OPC drum and discharging remaining charge on OPC from last page. PCR Works on 1500V and if the HVPS (high voltage power supply) fail the PCR has no proper voltage to discharge OPC drum and ghosting appears.
I have changed a new opc drum, but the problem still exist. What shoud I do next? My ghosting is regular pattern as distance same as drum circumference.
I measured the distance between original and ghosting and it's exactly 190mm on all prints (which looks about the same with the circumference of the imaging drum). toner cartridges are not OEM but the imaging drum is, and the printer only had a little over 3000 pages printed since new...HP says the imaging drum has a lifespan of 12000 prints... this is for a HP Color Laser mfp 179fnw your views, please?

Help. I am experiencing shadow printing on my print outs: the original script is not affected. It only affects my 'written' work and not anything which has been copied and pasted onto the same page. It seems to have started after copying some text off of the internet. Many thanks: I am trying to write up and print out my family history!
The only difference I can think between copy-pasted written work and the rest of it is either based on position on the page, or that maybe the typed text is printed in black ink and the rest of the graphics/drawn/copy-pasted stuff is printed as a graphic and using colour inks (combining all colours to get any black/almost-black colours needed there). You could test that idea by telling the printer to print only using black ink and do a black and white version of your printouts, or you can test the position hypothesis by moving things around on the page to switch them around (unless you've already done that accidentally or on purpose and ruled it out). I can't help beyond this, you should probably call a professional - unless anyone else here can help given more info.

Salve.

I measured the distance between original and ghosting and it's exactly 190mm on all prints (which looks about the same with the circumference of the imaging drum).

It could be the drum. the lifespan is extimated at 12000 but it is not sure, it depends, so it could be the drum unit

Help. I am experiencing shadow printing on my print outs: the original script is not affected. It only affects my 'written' work and not anything which has been copied and pasted onto the same page. It seems to have started after copying some text off of the internet. Many thanks: I am trying to write up and print out my family history!
which is the printer without watching the printer, it's difficult to say. May be the fusers or the drum

Salve.
