      @@jistyclovek4693 because it's the easiest way to make knife steel 😂 no offense he makes great knives but to me technically it's not wootz it's just modern steel melted in a crusivel.

      It is not that easy to just melt steel in crucible - make damascuc steel (i meen modern patern welding, not original wootz damascus) is easier than this.
      You need right tool and knowlage to "just melt modern steel in crucible" yes it is not original wootz recepture but it is crucible steel - not something magical or mystical, but wel proforming cool pice of exotic material that you donť see every day.

    What do you use for sharpening and hand sanding your knives?

      I sharpen with diamond stones. Hand polishing with diamond paste

    How do you determine what material to use. It seems that you can make a knife from any metal but what gives them a certain Rockwell hardness. Does the forging make any metal hard enough. I know in the world of knives different steels hold an edge and are easy to sharpen. Can you forge these characteristics from washers etc. Your knives could slice a hair off a gnats butt from any metal. How?

    If you place cardboard between the crucible and the fire brick, it will keep it from sticking.

    The bar you used when sanding down the top near the spine, right before etching... what is that? Is it just a custom bar that you put sandpaper on, is it a specific type of file, or what is it? I am curious as I would love to acquire one for myself. Great videos!
