It's nice to find a piercer who is willing to lose a customer because they know that the piercing in question is a bad idea. As he said himself, DaVo tells us these things because he cares.
Thank you. Everyone thinks that it cost me a lot if business but the requests for a lot if these piercings isn't that often. In most cases, they decide to do something else instead. It comes down to this, a piercing should do the least a mount of damage as possible and be worn until the client no longer wants the piercing or has passed away.
You're welcome. There is a lot of confusion around that name because it has been used for jestrums. In fact, the first time I saw something like this it was done like a backwards vertical labret. The poor girls teeth were already seeing signs of wear after just 2 months.
@@BodyPiercingTattooing I had no clue ashleys were so prone to migrating! I watched your vertical labret piercing video before I got mine done (you've been a lifesaver for all my piercing adventures)-- but now I'm a bit worried it might migrate! Will the bottom part of it keep the top part from migrating around too much?
I wish more piercers would educate on the piercings you’re about to receive. My favorite piercing place refused my snakes eyes and I didn’t know y so I went somewhere else and they were very unprofessional. And I started researching and learned how controversial the snake eyes piercing is and completely regret it now.
I always give a reason for refuse to do a piercing. As I see it it's an opportunity to educate them on the risks involved. Some listen, some hang up half way through the explanation but I feel it's my responsibility to educate them in the piercing.
I have a vertical labret. The first couple weeks I was drinking everything with a straw. When I downsized it the first time, I put a disc on the top. Now I can drink everything normally. Zero problems. Having a ball or gem on top does cause issues with eating and drinking so just keep that in mind.
Thanks for uploading! I discovered your channel some time ago because I was thinking about getting snake bites done and now always enjoy watching your videos!
I got dimple piercings with a really unexperienced piercer and I got super lucky, I had to put different jewelry in them because The one she put in at first were way too short but they actually healed up really nicely
Yes those cheek piercings swell. It's standard to start out with 5/8 and downsize after a few weeks. Thank you for sharing your experience and watching.
What piercing will be better for gums and teeth - ring in the middle of bottom lip or vertical labret? I have always wanted to have ring piercing but i'm afraid about the damage to gums. Your videos about healing piercings are very helpful :)
My labret healed well, the only issue I had was when I had a long bar to accommodate swelling. I kept biting down on it. But once I got a shorter bar, it's like it's not even there.
Good thing about having a piercing is that if some one wants the same you can tell them from going through it yourself wether or not they will want to endure the aftercare period. Or just ask your local studio.
Nothing beats first-hand experiences. I often will ask my clients a number of questions when they come back in for jewelry changes or just for a follow-up. I know some of them are annoyed by it but I have gained so much information from clients and their experiences.
Davo, you adressed the Venom piercing as two seperate piercings. My piercer said that she would put in a surface bar instead of going all the way through the muscle twice, it would have less swelling and pain. Do you have experience with that and recommend it?
I would not suggest it. You are basically tying the two muscles together. I just posted a pros and cons video on scoop piercings that you should watch. ruclips.net/video/RQaiBBLu984/видео.html Because that is what you are describing. It's also called a surface to surface tongue piercing. Do your research before hand.
I got healed cheek piercings and the only thing that has been drooling out was lymph, especially at the beginning it was leaking onto the cheeks. The only time saliva has leaked it was when it mixed with lymph and created white jellos lol
Do you think wearing BioFlex jewelry in an Ashley piercing would make it less irritating/damaging to your teeth? I've been wanting to get it done for the longest but now I'm not sure after hearing your thoughts on it. 😕
Plastic are not only able to cause damage but are certified biocompatible. The term bioplastic means that a percentage is made from plants and recycled plastics. It has nothing to do with how safe it is in the human body.
Oh how I wished I had found these videos a week ago... So I just got my lip and septum pierced 3 days ago, I researched the septum as that’s all I had originally wanted but my boyfriend talked me into getting my lip done last minute. I have a lot of problems with my teeth, i have a genetic problem resulting in extreme loss of tooth enamel, i had to take my tongue ring out years ago because it caused severe damage to my teeth. So I was only going to get my lip pierced if I knew it wasn’t going to be coming in contact with my teeth, and I told my piercer this, along with the fact that I was planning on wearing a ring in it... low and behold he pierced me with a labret stud, and assured me that the only time I should have any problems with the piercing hitting my teeth is during the first couple weeks while it was swollen. He also told me they heal quickly and I can change the stud out to a hoop as soon as the swelling subsides. After watching a handful of your videos I am worried because, It’s not really pierced diagonally, it’s also placed perfectly that the flat piece on the inside gets caught right on the top of my tooth when I chew. Now the inside is soooo swollen (probably from snagging it so much) to the point that the flat piece on the jewelry is sinking into and cutting my lip. I was thinking of going up there tomorrow to see if he could put a hoop or something else in. But because it’s pierced more horizontal then it is vertical I’m wondering rather or not changing the jewelry is going to make a difference regarding the issue with it rubbing and knocking my teeth? Or as much as I don’t want to should I just take it out and start over with a more experienced piercer with the ability to better communicate with their clients? Any advice would be so incredibly helpful, and thank so much for your videos, they really are so informative, and I am so glad I found them before getting anymore piercings!
my Monroe has been rubbing on my teeth :/ should I get it re done higher? or just use a bioplast? it's only been about 3 weeks, maybe it's just cuz its a longer bar from when I got pierced
Good question and I'm not sure I have a clear answer. If you have wounds and cuts that develop into ulcers, there would be a high risk that the piercing could also.? It really depends on the condition that is causing the ulcers and the type is ulcers they are. This is definitely something I would suggest talking to your doctor or dentist about before getting a piercing.
I have had angel bites for over 6 months now but never really found much info on them I’m worried they’re going to damage my gum or teeth, is this possible? Do you have a video solely on ángel bites?
It is a minor stretch and if you are not planning on going much larger, it shouldn't be an issue. It really depends on how seasoned the piercing is. A taper pin can make inserting jewelry easier but it should slide through easily.
I have a quastion hope you will answer me. Im really like to have labret piercing very down of my lips on my chin. And dont want to use ring. Just want to have a small usuall jewelry , is it also damaging my teeth even if i keep it cleen every day?
I think what you want is the traditional placement of a labret. Often called a Lowbret. Since it is placed below the gum line, it has very limited contact with teeth. However, there can be issues with gums. It all comes down to anatomy, placement and correct jewelry size.
I really want a medusa or vertical labret done, but i’m concerned about scarring. Do you think getting it pierced with 18 gauge/1 mm would help make the scar less visible? Or do you think it’d cause any problems..?
Davo! I have a question: is the setting of a tongue piercing supposed to sit on top the surface of the tongue or flush (slightly beneath) the surface of the tongue?? Thank you.
Body Piercing & Tattooing thanks so much my dude! Mine was too deep because we changed it to labret disc under tongue after a month of the initial piercing. I will go back and change to balls underneath to it gave added length to sit more comfortably. Your input is a great help and much appreciated !! 🙏
Yeah and they usually are the same people that when I take the time to explain why I don't do them, act like I'm wasting their time. The thing is I always see these videos and post with people going on and on about how much they love this piercing, then a couple of weeks, no piercing and radio silence.
I got all 4, double 10g on the top of my ears, done at one shot. I normally liked the adrenaline of multiple piercings but I do not advise people trying to test that threshold. Most I got at once was 5 piercings in a shot. I got my forehead dermal 45 minutes after relaxing from the Apadravya. I’m good with pain. 😂
Yes, I think for most of us having a job is a major priority. As far as damage goes, it all comes down to proper placement and jewelry size. Still there is always the risk. It's all about limiting the risks
I have heard of people getting “dimple” piercings just so that they can take them out later and have natural looking dimples. I’m not sure if that’s true or if it works, but that’s the rumor.

It will help. Usually the migration is more likely on the top and usually caused by pressure on the jewelry.

I agree 100% about the tongue healing .... it feels so BRUTAL at the time, but its because there is a year of healing compressed into 2 weeks.
Yes, those 2 weeks suck, especially the first 3 days or so but it's so quick.
Wore a ring in my labret piercing for a day and it hurt. Took it out and I’m so glad I did.

28g tends to be too thin and would increase the risk of migration and tearing. Both of which would increase scarring. 16g is a better option.

It's best to do one at a time. However, you can get two.
