@@poormansfoodtruck can you possibly tell me the measurements on the hood in certain spots if I post link to the pics. It will not let me upload pics thanks
@@poormansfoodtruck Why dint you use the fan from vevor instead since the hood is??? Wasn’t good? Trying to get the hood from there since they seams to be the cheapest one and I was wondering about their fans
I like your honesty we are in same boat we start to build our second food truck But this time is a 14x8 trailer we just placed the order for the hood system we are doing it from scratch to LOVE YOUR VIDEOS
I am really not wanting to instal a good in my trailer, I’m not even cooking food I just have food warmers. Might have to fork out the cash and bite this bullet though lol. Think I’m going to rearrange the trailer and cook if I have to.
Depending on your area the health dept may not require you to have one if you’re not physically cooking inside the trailer. But to my knowledge if you do decide to start cooking instead of just warmers, you’ll for sure need one! Hope that I can help if it comes to that!
Have you had any experience with the low profile hoods? They are designed for low ceiling areas. Any opinions about those? Seems like they give you more head room while cooking..
Personally I’ve not had any experience with them - but I will say that they look great! They’re also probably much easier to install and easier to maintain also. In my area at least, I’ve never seen one in action (yet).
For me, I won’t be using an AC unit (too much electrical power is required). I’m sure that you could, however it may be easier to raise your equipment a little higher, than to lower the exhaust hood?
@Poor Man's Food Truck the reason I thought to lower the hood was to catch the heat before it is all over the rig. More efficient? Just speculating a posible design improvement.
Did your trailer pass inspection with the hood filters that came with the Vevor hood filters? I was told they wouldn’t in Florida but wanted to be sure. Thank you!
Yes! Great question! Automatic fire suppression system is required in FL. I will be having mine installed by a third-party as it also needs to be certified. This will be one of the final steps of my build
How about ansul?. Did the fire department do that for you or did you by pass it with fire extinguishers. Thanks. And love your videos wish you luck on your venture.
Hey! I’m having all of my fire suppression equipment professionally installed by a local vendor (I’m not willing to take any risks). Thank you so much for the support! I’d recommend reaching out to some local pros who can quote you on doing the job?
This was the “best priced” I could find in terms of quality and price. I’m sure there are cheaper out there but I didn’t want to sacrifice quality also. For the record, it works great!
Using the cargo dividers was a genius move. It doesn’t hurt the pocket too bad. I did that yesterday and installed my hood. Thanks for the video.
They are lifesavers!! Glad that it worked out for you too! Thank you so much for your support 🙏🏻

@@poormansfoodtruck great video btw. Question could I put the hood at the front of the trailer or is not enough studs there?

Thank you for these videos, I am having my truck built and we are using the hood and the fan you suggested.
That’s awesome! Thank you so much for the support! I think you’ll be happy with the products!
Just to let you know, the exhaust fan is only 500 CFM on the maximum highest speed says it on the website
I'm about to install a hood onto my food truck and I'm just a little bit nervous about putting the wrong Hood in
I am here in fl to Daytona are glad I ran by your RUclips I am slowly doing the same as you so far the hood system is my problem
That’s awesome thank you so much for the support! If there’s anything I can do to help just reach out!
Duct should be welded not screwed together.. hood should be mounted to back of wall tightly sealed to prevent grease from buildup and possibly fire
Good job my friend
Thank you so much! 🙏🏻

I noticed that your roof is slightly curved and therefore your hood isn't flat against the wall. Is that OK?

How do you run an exhaust hood and AC unit? I was also wondering if it was possible to put the exhaust closer to the grill?

What size your trailer buds. Thank you
Mine is a 7x16ft my friend!
Im looking to buy one, And I noticed that vevor is 201 stainless steel and hood Mart 430 that's why I m asking if feel strong?
I can’t find the hood duct you used anywhere. Home Depot is showing a different picture. Any recommendations. Thanks
I will try to update the link for you! Otherwise search for “food truck roof curb” and they should populate
@@poormansfoodtruck thank you
Do you build food truck from people if they have their owner trailer
I have helped with certain parts for others - however my schedule is pretty limited to be honest
How is the quality of the hood? Feels study?
Did you get greace filters for it? If so from were thank you
Not yet - but I do plan on getting some extra! Will post an update on the IG page when I do

Right on! Thank you!!

How much does that vent hood weigh?

@@poormansfoodtruck How much is the fire suppression with installation and certicification?
I don’t have a final quote yet, but at least in my area it’ll be somewhere in the $3000-$3500 range
did your food truck hood pass your inspections?
It passed my fire inspection, still awaiting our final inspection from the DPRB! Will post an update soon!
How did you cut the square hole in the hood vent?
I used an angle grinder with a 4.5” grinding disc
Link for the window if you could please and thanks
