Nice video bringing back happy memories. I never worked on steam while in Aberdeen as Kittybrewster was all diesel when I joined the railway in 1963. Oh, I remember, they did have one night steam freight the 03.25 goods to Elgin via Mulben and worked the first diesel passenger service back to Aberdeen via Buckie and Tillynaught Junction. . However as a second man I did get one turn of looking after a steam loco parked up on the Up bay platform line at the Joint station. They were short of a fireman at Ferryhill and all I had to do was sit on the loco as they had to have someone on it per the rules & regulations. That's the only steam experience I had there but in 1964 I moved south and fired trains during the final two years of steam on the Western Region. It was nice meeting you at your home again last year and hope all is keeping well with you.
Excellent! 👍👍
