    Brilliant upload thank you 👌🏽
3 things - 1) One of the best ODI series ever played. We got hammered in the first 2, came back in the next 2 and took the 3rd at Eden Park (for memory) to the wire but unfortunately lost.
    2) That six from big Merv ended up in the foodtown carpark over the road! We all went looking for the ball!
    3) RIP Crowe, Jones and Warne 😔

Glad you liked it. Love hearing stories like that - everyone looking for the ball in Foodtown LOL! Brilliant memories.
But yep Awesome game and series. I have game 5 somewhere, I will dig it out and upload it soon. Larsen and Pringle nearly got it done at the end.

Classy knock from Mark Waugh... Then only batsman that could compete with him for style was the late, great Martin Crowe...
Great game! Jeff Wilson decided to concentrate on playing rugby for the All Blacks after this series then after 60 tests for the AB's he retired from rugby at 28 to pursue his cricket career where he played against Australia again in cricket in a T20I and a ODI against Australia in 2005...
    Talented sportsman!

Crazy bad run out of Crowe. His knee what shot to pieces in this series. But he didnt help himself by running too wide.

This was the era of bits and pieces after the awesome 80's sides, but you cant take it away from them as a unit, the only World class player was Hogan Crowe, but everyone else contributed and some played above and beyond, Andrew Jones was written off by the Aussies, notably Bill Lawry he continuously bagged his batting, until one day in Perth and Jones had a massive 100, shut those clown commentators clean up.

    • @pixeltees

I loved Andrew Jones! Unorthodox but gritty and effective. A great first drop and under appreciated.

That world cup performance in 1992 from NZ, turned world cricket on it's head for a month or so there.

  • @Badmansband

This just shows how great Hogan was. Putting the likes of Tim May, Big Merv and Paul Reiffel (who was a very, very good bowler) to the sword and all on one leg.

Love these memories of a much more simple time the one thing I find funny is the run rate 30 runs off 10 overs is very slow by today’s standards

A great era of cricket ... loved the Waugh bros and Dean Jones was my fav but watching Crowe in the 92 World Cup is what got me into cricket as a kid. Great days at the basin reserve then ... even though NZ was a bit rubbish during these times. I do think NZ is about to enter another era of being rather crap after being so good for the last few years ...

    • @pixeltees
