Not an L and D nurse but I’m curious, what changes did you see in the monitor to know that your baby was not tolerating the contractions? Was it the change in heart rate?

I wanted to ask from your experience with the past 2 epidurals, does it make you feel drugged/high? I'm very nervous to get an epidural and have planned not to due to this. I've heard from some people it's just numbness from the hips down, but someone else told me they were numb from the neck down and that scares me a lot!!
I'm nervous because if i feel drugged/high my heart races and I get super anxious and like have a panic attack, I'm afraid this will happen when giving birth if I do the epidural. Especially on top of dropping BP I'm afraid I'll pass out. Any thoughts???

Mashallah Allah yehmi. I have this weird pregnancy connection with you and you don’t even know it 😂 you and I were pregnant at the same time (with both babies) and we also had similar due dates. In fact, you were due before me both times. However, both of my babies arrived early due to PPROM so I would watch your content during my long hospital stays 😅 subhanallah I had a feeling it would happen again and it did! Alhumdillah for his safe arrival ❤
I used to wonder the same thing when I was in the hospital with delivery-why can't they get all my vital signs at once! Maashallah I'm so very happy for your new blessing!! May you have many more blessings inshallah!! Ameen❤ Edit: praying for one more for us inshallah. Ameen🌟

From my own experience........some patient's vital signs are affected by a bunch of nurses surrounding the patient....at the same time...to collect the readings and blood samples, etc. So it is not accurate due to physiological reasons........

Epidural can have side effects both short term and long term I wouldn't automatically advise anyone to have one unless they absolutely can't cope with the pain. I'm from Australia and I find it interesting watching birth videos etc from the US the entire delivery process is so different. In Australia Obstetricians are only present if there are complications, midwives handle the entire delivery. Epidural is not given automatically given and an induction generally would only happen if you were a few days over due date or if there are complications etc
That being said your story is alhumdulillah beautiful may Allah swt make everything easy for you and keep your growing family safe❤❤❤

My mom’s labors halved each time and so far mine has also.
My twins labor was 17 hours start to finish and my 3rd was 8 hours start to finish
I had a failed epidural for my twins so I delivered them naturally. The epidural was more for fear of it being the first time, for two babies and for fear of a c section I didn’t want to be put under anesthesia. And then my third came so fast I was already crowning when I got to the hospital so he was also unmedicated.
If I ever have a grueling labor I’ll totally try the epidural again. But I’ve had intermittent back pain after the twins labor and my doctor said sometimes women who get epidurals experience that.

Wow this is the smoothest birth i have ever seen..i love how you guys consider 7 pounds 8 ounces big 😅 my baby boy was 8 pounds 8 ounces and girl 8 pounds 4 ounces..horrible experience with epidural the first time around and a much smoother unmedicated 2nd birth..im sure if my epidural with the first was good i would have done it again but med free is also not so bad and goes wayyyy faster.. so happy for you. ❤
