Wow and even this video shows something interesting... as soon as I stop talking about the US connection and the go into the ‘vlog’ part of the video touring London and Edinburgh, the majority of you stop watching the video... way sooner than usual. Fascinating! In my America videos people watch the whole way through
I actually love the Scottish things. It was one of the original reasons I came to your channel. That is crazy people would unsubscribe for Scottish video from a Scottish RUclipsr.
I don't get it either. Who are these people? I'm curious. Why would you subscribe to a Scottish RUclipsr for American content? I like seeing people talk about their countries, what they eat and their daily lives. If I can't be there, at least I can get a peek. What other reason would there be to watch? I like seeing the reactions to visiting the US and all, but I like the London and Scotland videos more. 🤷🏾♀️
My wife and I have been watching Shaun since late last year. His Scotland content is what attracted us. Lets hope Shaun does not get discouraged and keeps posting the videos, we love.
Yes the reason that I subscribed is because you talk about Scotland, I prefer all videos from Scotland, I am Scottish living in California and I want to know about Scotland or anything in Europe 😊😚😘😇🥰
Don’t sell yourself short. You have so much more to offer than just focusing on America. It’s fun when you do travel and try all the food and experiences you have, but those of us here in the US are interested in what’s going on over there too. Just keep rolling’!
From the US here: I get a giggle when you come to the US but I would love it if you would travel around Scotland and show off the great places/culture of your homeland or more about the UK. Even if you lose subs because you cant travel/focus on the US doesn't mean that there isn't an audience for learning about the UK. The Halo around the sun is called a 22 Degree Halo. You should look it up, its really interesting phenomenon.
I have visited much of Europe but never the UK. I've always wanted to visit but it never worked out for me. Maybe when the Covid calms down you can retrace some of your steps and show the streets as they should be, filled with people enjoying themselves. I have heard stories about the local fish and chips and all the daily things you may take for granted Shaun but here in the US many enjoy the everyday culture expressed from your point of view. I very much enjoy your channel.
Thank you for the 22° info, I immediately looked it up as I love the phenomenon, as well as coronae. I try to learn something new daily and today is especially nice as it is from a other yank.
I agree- I love Shaun’s videos in Scotland, or anywhere other than the US!!!!!! That’s why I started watching, and the Outlander videos, I’m a Patreon member Shaun!!!!!
@NiniL and @Shaun my daughter and I were taking a walk this last Saturday around noon here in Boise Idaho with my grandson, and there was a double halo! It was cool! It was the day there was an eclipse in the southern hemisphere, it was great! We live in Idaho, she lives in Boise. That's where we were when we saw the double halo. Thanks Nini L. I will try to make time to look it up. 😊
Thanks so much for the comments and suggestions guys. But here’s something I don’t understand: a lot of you are saying you want more Scotland, and yet I literally have hundreds of videos on Scotland and they are my least popular. This video, for example, with an American title, looks like it is my most popular in months. Yet if I put “trip back to Edinburgh” in the title, my experience shows most of you would not have clicked on it. Sorry, just trying to understand it all - as the Scottish stuff just doesn’t seem to work despite what you’re saying. I appreciate you all !!! 🇺🇸🏴💜 Also interesting that this was a very popular video released on a Monday night - maybe Monday is the day!!
Thank you for the reminder to watch the videos of Scotland. I mean to watch them, but then I forget because of all the political upheaval that's going on right now. I keep clicking on political stuff, but I'm sure the videos of Scotland are much more pleasant.
Just an FYI, I noticed in the past few months a few of the channels that I KNOW I subscribed to, ones that I watch whenever they upload something, have been I've been unsubscribed from.
I love all of the videos! I like to travel and I like seeing where other people have gone. Gives me ideas of places to go. I'm in Southern Indiana. If you ever make it to Indiana there are quite a few things to check out. During the summer there is Holiday World (theme park) in Santa Clause, IN... yes really Santa Clause. There is the Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial. Holocaust Museum in Terre Haute, IN. There are some really cool caves around this area that you can visit and do zip lining. Now in the fall, first full week of Oct, there is a HUGE fall festival in Evansville (where I live), IN. There is soooo much food to try. I think you'd love it.
As an American, I LOVE your Scottish content the best. Your trips to the USA are definitely interesting, and I wouldn't unsubscribe no matter where you are traveling to. But Scotland is my favorite!
Here i am, in the USA, saving up (for years) to be able to make a trip to Britain, and u took me there in this video! Sean, thanks for this. it was beautifully done :) and i am NEVER unsubscribing!
@@shaunvlog OK, lol, as I go through comments, I'm getting more ideas. Since people want to see more of Scotland, and that might be a bit of a stretch for you in your car every week or weekend, would it be possible for you to put up a community question of the places that people would like to see most in the UK or Scotland, and then you choose the places that you're familiar with and live stream with Google Earth, speak live to your viewers?
@@shaunvlog i hope so too. before i watched ur channel, i always wanted to go to Britain, and even while i was saving up for it, i was a little scared of going. i worried that people wouldn't like me bc i was from the USA, but then i started watching ur channel and I no longer was afraid. so, thanks for that, Sean!
I totally love this vlog! It was beautiful! It was cool that you were pretty much walking the streets alone which really gave us a different perspective. I absolutley love Edinburgh. So much history. Thank you Shaun for this very enjoyable journey ❤🏴🏴
i came for the "watch some scottish guy experience culture shock in america" and stayed for the "shaun". I dont care what you post, i just think youre a cool normal interesting dude and love your content. Screw the haters (unsubscribers)! keep doing your thing man. Much love from Alabama
It’s odd you have less views on the Scotland vlogs. I just recently starting following due to me recently getting into Outlander and I love your channel so much. I’m slowly going through your older uploads, I have really enjoyed them all, especially Edinburgh! Anything you do is awesome. Well, whenever you are able to come back to the states, I would gladly host you and your wife/guest at my home in near Greenville, South Carolina. I owe you that much! Lol. That’s how much your channel has entertained me, I’m willing to give you and your wife free Southern Hospitality if you guys want to explore the area! 🤣 Thanks so much, Shaun! Also, I’ve been tracking my genealogy to several different parts of the UK,.. Scotland included. I dream of the day I can fly over and explore where my family came from and possibly meet up with my distant UK cousins. 😊 keep up the great work 🤓
Thank you for taking us on a road trip to Scotland! I felt so happy to see you in Edinburgh, even if it is empty! In good weather or dreich, It is so beautiful! Hopefully you can get up to Rowanlea next time! Just seeing Justine, Skye and Ceasar is worth it! Love to you and Teka!
Shaun I'm an American. I can say I watch your channel to see places I've never been. If I want to see merica I would just hop in the car. Please keep giving us video of the other beautiful country you live in.
I am sorry you are not able to come back to America and while I enjoy watching those vlogs, I enjoy your vlogs about Scotland as much or more!! One of my favorites was your Hogmanay video! I also like your videos of gifts people send you from the US. It is fun watching you open the boxes.
This is bullcrap. It cant last long man, dont give up on visiting us again. Look forward to your next video and hope you can fly free anywhere you would like soon. Best wishes from Ohio.
Ok, and about those that unsubscribed cause you can't come to America, "c'est la vie, ciao" Like my husband says! LOL. A mix of French and Italian I believe. My Mama would say they are being good time Charlies. They also say here in America, it's when times are hard that you really find out who your friends are! Ok, 'nuff said. Keep on Keeping on my friend!! Can't wait for more content from ya'll!! God bless ya'll and keep safe!!
I'm sorry if this was a bit over the top, but I believe there are a lot of people who would still want to watch the Scottish content. I don't think you should quit showing us Scotland. Maybe some of those people are disheartened because they really want to go but can't right now. Don't give up!
Like so many others I paused to say fooey to those who unsubscribe. You don't want to come right now it's a mess. Love your vlog, love Scotland. I was supposed to be in Glasgow right now but had to cancel. Hoping for travel this winter. Hang in there, you will be welcomed again.
I love seeing your life, regardless of being in America or not! For me, it’s great to see life beyond my country; would love to see more of London/England as a whole! When it’s convenient for you of course. Cheers!
Im American and cant afford to travel. When you're able to, I would love to see something like "Here are the places you should visit if you've always wanted to go to Scotland". Maybe ask different kinds of people what they think about the average American. I, for instance, am wondering what the rock music scene is like.
I like the idea of the rock music scene. But maybe he should interview people locally who haven't had the chance to travel themselves, and ask them where they would go if they could. Or what they like about living where they live. That way, we learn something about Scotland or England
I'm pretty sure he has several vids like that already, but i bet there is always more to see! Especially those little islands and their beautiful towns and natural scenery.
As long as "America" is in the title, should be good. What do Londoners think of Americans? American expats talk beer. American cities have sidewalks, but London has... Places Americans should see in Scotland. Pander away, your true fans will smile along at the joke.
Hi, I am from the USA. I personally like to see places other than America. I have traveled a little here, I really, really enjoy seeing other places. The black diamond sea shore was the best adventure I have had on RUclips. Yes adventure. I can imagine I am there thru you. It was spectacular. Since you are stuck in the UK you could show me/us local non touristy stuff. Or the locals view of the touristy stuff. Just a thought. I will not unsubscribe for non US stuff. Stay cool.😎
People are looking to watch whatever helps get them through but, it is hard to distract from Our Presidential Horrors. ANYTHING foreign in documentary form or comparison video can be fun. We are all in this together! I know that people die everyday, in multitudes of ways but, when I think of the hundreds of thousands who have died in the most horrific way, painfully, slowly and ALONE, I get choked up. I can't help it. And there is more to come. Having our Allies to stand by us still, despite Trump's crimes against humanity, means the World!!
Well I am in the same boat had planned to go to Inverness to visit some friends I met in Orlando FL last year. And then to Cawldor Castle area to meet a family member who did a huge family tree to sign his book of family members he has met. And lastly meeting up with some brothers and ride down to Rosslyn chapel. But sadly I was told nope not going to be able this year. Hopefully you can get over here soon. And I'll make it over there. But until then best to ya. ..... And I did watch til the end ! LoL
Don't give up on the USA Shaun. Things are rough all the way around here right now. All of this mess will end. It can't last forever. More on Scotland would be awesome. May you and Teka take good care of yourselves.
Thank you Shaun! As a person with psoriasis also I know that struggle. I’ve been getting out in the sun a lot more this year. I’m in west central Indiana. It hasn’t done a lot for me though. I’m a bit disappointed. My psoriatic arthritis has been okay thought. But it’s summer so it’s never as bad as winter. Anyway, I love all of your content. I would never unsubscribe just because you didn’t do something in America. I love seeing Scotland! Please don’t be disheartened by people who don’t appreciate you and your work. Much love and light to you and yours.
I am pausing this vlog so I don't forget to tell you things that come to mind while I'm watching. I love the misty days in Edinburgh, and the ambient sounds of the birds singing and a gentle rain. Also, I wanted to mention that when we lived in Olympia, Washington it rained a lot, because it is part of the Olympic Peninsula, the very beginning of it. Anyways, I had a coworker who had psoriasis like you and the dr she went to suggested tanning beds because it rained so much. So you might try that if you have it available. My Mom used to have sun lamps when I was little, that helped her out in the winter in Carbondale, Illinois. Anyways, just a thought. Also, I love the content of Scotland and England, and all the other places you post. It doesn't have to be 'bout America! LOL. You and Teka are great! And I enjoy the transparency. It is good to be you, :)
I also will pause the vlog to write something down or fold laundry or whatever. If it takes too long, RUclips drops me and I have to go hunt it down and re-start it. I like to give the scenery takes my undivided attention, though. Awww. Here we are, all hoping that it's some other reason than lack of interest! I think we're your diehard fans who love you, Shaun!
What I love about your America content is that I get to hear a different perspective of my home by someone who enjoys it, seems to love it, and has an absolutely FANTASTIC accent. Post what you can and I'm sure your fans will continue to support you! For me personally the America videos just give me an extra happy feeling.
I think I speak for a lot of us who don't care what you vlog about: we love the Scottish Guy! We can't wait til can come back to the country you love so much! You're more American than most of us!! I hope to visit Scotland soon and maybe move there. God bless you Scottish Guy! How about if you interview Americans over there or act as their tour guides?
Alabama girl here! I love anything u do regarding Scotland! My ancestors from my fathers side migrated to the U.S. from Scotland so I love learning it all. Yes we love when u visit America but u have much to offer us from where u r standing. Do not stress yourself out about those who unsubscribe. Shows their narrow minds. U r awesome!
We also watch Patrick Childress sailing. Yesterday we watched a video made by his wife. They've been travelling S Africa. Long story short. They both contracted covid 19 and he died!! Priorities Shaun! Love you! Stay safe!!
I get a kick out of you comparing Scotland to America vids, but the ones I absolutely have just loved are the ones where you are going around showing us sights of Scotland. I love seeing the gorgeous landscape & all of the historical sights of Scottland w/ your perspective on them.
Haha I like it! I see the President is signing an executive order to restrict work visas to protect local jobs. This will make a standard working visa for me near impossible, but I guess a sign of the times. Hope you guys are well x
I'm an American, and I started watching and then subscribing because you were from Edinburgh, a city I was so thrilled to come visit for a Christmas holiday in 2012. I then loved your Outlander stuff, especially when you did videos around Edinburgh associated with Outlander (or not), then I loved your videos going all over Scotland, then London, then in the Americas...these are all my "favorites"! I also loved when you did videos with other vloggers from Scotland, as well as videos about coping with the quarantine. All great - thanks!
Wait until things calm down and the virus stops spreading a lot! Stay safe and healthy and be careful in hanging out in big crowds. This American still adores you!
Oh yeah, P.S. I am really sorry you can't come to America right now, but I pray you can come soon!! Our numbers keep rising here in Idaho, it's crazy ridiculous!! Praying for it to end soon! I am tired of it already!! :P
I live in Washington State on the border to Idaho. Closest to Post Falls. We are worried for Idaho. The people are friendly and outgoing. And are eager to get back into things. I think I can speak for everyone in Washington when I say we only want the best for you. Take care of yourselves!
Thank you for posting. It's always good to hear from you. I'm from America and personally my favorite videos of yours are of Scotland so I will be watching every time you post a Scottish or English video. It's so interesting to see what's going on there now. You are in such a beautiful and interesting part of the world and I find it more interesting than the videos in America. All good things to you and your family. Please stay safe.
Paused so I can tell you, nobody is allowed right now. No international flights. The virus is really bad in America and nobody is following the rules. So I'm not so sure you want to come to America right now. I've been watching tons of videos about Scotland! Why would people unsubscribe? I just don't get it!
I subscribed to watch the stuff from Scotland, but i love it all. You are equally enjoyable to watch no matter what the content. I can't believe that people unsubscribe like that. You are great! Don't change. :)
Shaun, it was great seeing you vlogging again! So thankful you and Teka have played things safely during this lockdown. Las Vegas looked just like London & Edinburgh looked in your video, so things are grim all over the world right now. Glad you have your car, because I know from experience how important it has been to be able to drive around a bit. I liked your term bio-safe! That's it exactly! And I am sorry people are so rude to unsubscribe because you can't provide them the excitement they expect from you right now. Keep to your path; stay safe; check in with your fans once and a while to let us know you are ok!
Being honest though, you don't really want to come here right now. Outside of the northeast, the virus is spreading really quickly and hospitals are being overwhelmed. I am happy seeing content about the UK. Believe me, it's not a good time right now.
@Jim Elliott Well actually New York City entered its phase 2 on Monday, and so far there is no increase in cases even with the constant protests happening. So I would say we are doing well. You are right though in regards to the Utah and the other northern states. The south is in pretty bad shape though, and Florida is a lost cause honestly.
We were banned from coming to Scotland. We went in 2019, and wanted to go back. We had our tickets, and AirBnB's reserved. We really love Scotland, and are sorry that you were so locked down. Prayers for you all to stay healthy.
For what it’s worth, I found your channel to learn more about Scotland. I visited Edinburgh and the Highlands a few years ago and absolutely loved it. I love the videos of you coming to the US, but I’ve also loved your videos of you talking about Scotland and outlander. Keep up all the awesome videos!
So many people have taken the words out of my mouth in terms of “I would love to see your area of the world” type of content. However if you rrreeaaalllyy want to create American centric content, perhaps do some videos trying to make/cook “American” food following American recipes. Like: Casserole Part 1: what the heck is a casserole? (Where you talk about how it has different names depending on where you live, and what that reminds you of as a Scottish person) Casserole Part 2: getting stuff (what the heck is this ingredient and do I even have it in my Scottish grocery store?) Casserole part 3: make and taste. (Make it and taste it?) I stretched it out into more parts then is honestly necessary, and I used casserole as an example because in my hometown we called it hot dish. It seems like the videos where you try American food seem to do best out of the American videos, so this might work.
Distance can be a big issue in travel. I loved the care PKG you got from Michigan.... You definitely should visit the Sand Dunes park by lake Michigan in the summer, but states are big.. traveling distance is very far. But one of the areas you could visit that's a lot of fun is the New England area. Fly into Boston!!! Do the walking tours, check out the pubs.. see sports.. then a few hours drive you're in Connecticut!! And several hours from many seaside quaint towns. Maine isn't far.. each state although small has it's own unique personality. So a visit for a week to New England you could fit a lot of states and history of US in a week... VS the Midwest.. Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota area is very widespread and long travel time. You might want to try our Train travel.. I've heard it's really bad compared to your train travel in Europe.. but it would be fun to hear your opinions.. both negative and positive. I'm a fan of James Arthur, the singer, and he talks about anxiety also... It's important to let folks know they are not alone in that.. and they can still enjoy life.
Hi Shaun, I'm from the US and currently live in Florida. I would like to say that some of us subscribed to your channel because of your vlogs about Scotland. I am not able to travel due to finances. So, I am asking please continue to make more vlogs about Scotland for those of us that can't travel. Your country is amazing in so many ways and different from the US. Good luck with saving for the new equipment and on making your dream of working/living in the US reality after this pandemic is finally over.
Like others, I'm here for the content in Scotland and elsewhere outside the U.S. I appreciate all the work you go to on this channel and I'll be sure to look back to your other videos to see more of Scotland. My family is planning a trip there in two years, so I'll be taking notes.
Hey hey now, Minnesota, USA here! Love ya and you do what you can! We know you can't make it over and thanks for sharing the area of the world that most of us can't get to yourselves! Hugs from across the globe, keep it up!
And I’m just the opposite, I look forward most to the vlogs of London and Edinburgh! Kudos to you for wearing a mask in London, we are required to wear masks when inside buildings and in public spaces here.
SKJEAN3107 I think you typed “yourself” wrong. Didn’t you mean to write “Thank you President Trump for finally putting yourself first”? I think you probably did.
Absolutely LOVE your channel. The videos of Scotland are my favorite of course...but, that's because I live in America with dreams of visiting Scotland someday. Your videos create a great experience for me. Thank you Shaun!
My husband and I started watching your channel for the Scotland content. We are planning our first trip to Scotland next Spring to celebrate our 30 wedding anniversary. Love what you do, love the way you look at the world. Stay safe and maybe we will run into you in Edinburgh next April.
Thank you for taking us along for the road trip. How eerie were some of the images?! Bleak is the best description I’ve heard to describe this year. It’s becoming more and more depressing to me and I’m normally an extremely positive forward looking person. I do get the frustration and exhaustion with all of it. Hoping for better times ahead for everyone. Can’t wait until you can travel again and I really don’t understand why the Scotland videos aren’t more popular, but I think it may have way more to do with the current climate and everyone being inundated with news stories that they run out of viewing hours. I know that is true for me. Please don’t lose hope. We love your content! That rainbow circle around the sun was so cool. I’ve never been able to capture one before.
Greetings, I'm a subscriber and your headline really startled me. Of course, I quickly realized that your ban is just temporary. As are my plans for visiting Scotland. I really hope I can get back for my third visit next spring. Both times I was there it was in at the end of May. The weather was reasonably nice, the landscapes are blossoming and the daylight lasted until close to 10pm! Regarding your video, I had to watch in spits and spurts not all in one fell swoop. I never knew my watching style effected your revenue. A few years ago, I stumbled upon your VLOG and enjoyed them immensely. Mostly it was because through your camera I got to see some of the beautiful land I fell in love with in a way I wasn't able to see it as a tourist. My preference are your VLOGs about Scotland. (I really liked the live VLOG you did from Kirkwall.) It's nice that you visit the USA and I'm glad that you and Tecca like the places you've been to. But I prefer to see more of Scotland. There. That's my long-winded, two cent opinion. This pandemic has taken it's toll on so many people in so many ways -- and we'll be seeing repercussions for years to come. Sad.
I really enjoyed that, Shaun!! I know its frustrating not being able to do things but much to be thankful for because you are healthy. I totally look forward to all of your vlogs. Please stay well!!!
I love watching you walk around Edinburgh, brings back memories of my 2 trips there, I see buildings and landmarks in your videos and think "Oh wow, I went there" or "I saw that place".
USA. Arkansas here. I love seeing Scotland and England! I live in the US and have been to most of the places you've been to it is exciting seeing your reaction but I do enjoy your homelands!
As an American, and a Michigander and Red Wings fan so nice shirt!, just know I'm still here. I'm still watching. I love watching you show me where my ancestors came from as much as I love watching you experience what we who came from you have become. You matter to me Shaun.
I live in the USA and while your vlogs featuring your trips to America are interesting, the main reason I came to your channel was to learn more about Scotland. My wife and I enjoyed watching your exploration of Edinburgh on this video. While sad to see the place so empty, it was totally interesting. We were scheduled to be in Scotland in May-June of this year and we have rescheduled for next year. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for hanging in there Shaun. I'm ashamed to say the fact is that American Millennials aren"t very loyal to anything. 😕 That being said, we Old schoolers ARE loyal and I for one won"t be unsubscribing. Appreciate you showing us your experiences with lockdown in the U.K. Our lockdown in Texas hasn't been too severe, the Govenor recently issued an order allowing us to "open for business" and now new cases have spiked again so we'll see how it goes... Will be looking forward to more videos from you. Keep the faith, God keep you and Teka safe. A friend in Texas.
I love your videos about Scotland. I think the ones that are the most fun are when you talk about things that are unusual or specific to the Scottish culture. It's also fun when you compare differences between the American and Scottish cultures. I got a kick out of the one where you tried a bacon, egg and cheese breakfast "biscuit" for the first time. Maybe the titles of the ones that tanked sounded like travel videos? Cuz your personality, the funny things you say, and the querky differences between us are what make me watch. I'll be more faithful! ❤️
Last year my family and I traveled to Inverness from London while in vacation from Texas. We absolutely loved the highlands and the Scottish people. I watch a All your continent so carry on.
I found your channel because I was doing research for my trip to Scotland next year (fingers crossed) and I enjoy your content. I'm from America, Florida to be exact :) Sorry to hear people unsubing when you post content about other things besides America, that makes no sense to me. I very much enjoy Scotland videos!!
I am from the US / North Carolina and I want to see Scotland. I love it when you travel around Scotland and especially when you show us all the castles. I'd love to learn who lived in those castles and what kind of life they lived. The land where you live is just breath taking and your camera/drone skills are outstanding. I just sit here and dream of some day getting to Scotland. It's funny how we always seem to want to go to someone else's country. I've seen almost every bit of the US and yes, it's beautiful and very different in each state, but I love your history and the beautiful old architecture.
So I know the views aren't wonderful on your scotland videos - I just enjoy hearing how you're doing during this. There's something comforting knowing that we're all frustrated. It's important to remember that this won't last forever - and we love having you in America in any state. Things are a little crazy here because of the election and protests. So you may be missing out on a bleak experience honestly. Thank you for making this video. I saved up for years to travel to scotland this year and seeing the UK and Edinburgh going through the same struggle was encouraging even though the situation is not. Also, Scottish tourism may not be great right now, but many of us feel like you do and can't wait to get there. So once tourism resumes it may be a bit extreme? Anyway I wish more people loved the scotland videos you make as much as I do! I hope your channel gets enough views so that you don't have to worry about income. Also I hope you don't mind but I thought about it and here are some video ideas for you while you're stuck in quarantine! Hope they help! --You and Teka reenact some scenes from Outlander! --Compare the way the UK has dealt with Covid to the US? (Might be too controversial but you have handled those things delicately in the past) --Scottish guy reacts to American Candy (All of your reaction videos always pop up for me. Doesn't have to be Candy!) --I've noticed a lot of the foreign youtubers I follow making videos of themselves cutting their hair for the first time. Very amusing! But at your expense :) --Everyones talking about how to change classroom settings here in America because of the virus. You could compare schools in the UK to american ones and how they may change? That might not be your demographic though. I hope you get to travel and go on more adventures with Teka soon! Really I hope it gets better for all of us soon. Hang in there Shaun! (Sorry I wrote a novel. I never comment like this and I've been subscribing to you for months so I want to see you succeed - hence the novel!)
Shaun, I actually love seeing your vlogs about Scotland and London. When you were in the driveway of your grandmother's home I would have loved a peek inside the cars. I've never seen any of those models here in the US and would like to be nosey. I wanted a tour of the house because it looked lovely. 😊 I don't understand how people subscribe to a Scottish RUclipsr's channel and not want that kind of content. Find what you like to talk about and share. Everything you've posted has been interesting to me and a lot of others. People may unsubscribe, but the ones you keep and the new people you attract will like what YOU like. It would probably be a lot less stressful too.😉
I enjoy your videos. Sometimes I have to pause due to family or home responsibilities, but I do come back to it. I would love to visit Scotland one day and appreciate learning about your culture, bits of information, and places of interest. I am glad to see your interest in the United States. It is nice to hear some positive affirmation for America from someone in another country. America is great! Thank you for sharing with us about your country and culture and for enjoying ours as well. Take care.
Dude, not to worry. Things will get better and I watch your videos just to hear your accent. Keep posting on whatever interests you and we will keep watching from California. : )
You are such a positive person. It’s easy for folks to bash on America and it’s nice to see our home through your eyes. Wow...The cities seems so eerily quiet! London and Edinburough vids are always a hit with me! Traveling without leaving home! Thanks for all you do!
I love watching ALL of your travels (Iceland!) and will def subscribe to your other channel. Personally, I was so incredibly comforted by the empty, silent streets when I was out and about a few times during quarantine. Aside from the reason it was empty, it made me so happy and calm. So at peace.
Just speaking for myself -- I loved the parts about your ventures into London & Edinburgh the most! So eerie to see both places so quiet -- much like everything here (Oregon, U.S.A) was, before things opened up more. It makes you feel a strange sort of "one-ness" -- as sad as this virus has been, with all its bad effects -- one thing we can say is that we all, around the world, have this in common now. We can only hope that it somehow will help bring about a greater sense of unity, and World Peace. Thank you for sharing.
I am in the U.S. and I enjoy all of your content. I especially enjoy your travels. I love learning about Scotland and all of the other places you go. I also find you to be a charming host.
I'm from America and I absolutely love all the scottish content. You are really easy to watch never gets really boring and I'm learning a lot of history which I love you always have something really interesting to say.
Scotland is the reason I'm subscribed to you Shaun. I'll be there in October, beer bug be damned! Thank you for all you do, I am learning so much from you & WeeScottishLass that I would not otherwise know. Much Love from Canada.
I ADORE your stuff on Scotland and if you'd like, those of us in America are happy to chat with you about anything you want to know about America! Why we are obsessed with Scotland, our experiences being 1st, 2nd, 3rd gen Scottish-American (my Nana was from Greenock, came to the US in the 1950s). Don't be discouraged! I ADORE your channel! ♥️
I love and watch all of your content, Shaun. Sorry to hear that the channel tanks when you're not doing America stuff, hope you don't feel boxed in by that!! I'll stay regardless!
I love the things of America that you post, and I love the things about Scotland and anything Scottish, too. I'm not going anywhere as far as not viewing just because you're not as free to move around as before for now. I love anything about the way of life there, the food, the castles, anything at all. Thank you for working so hard to keep us entertained!
Wow and even this video shows something interesting... as soon as I stop talking about the US connection and the go into the ‘vlog’ part of the video touring London and Edinburgh, the majority of you stop watching the video... way sooner than usual. Fascinating! In my America videos people watch the whole way through
ImAmerican and I love y'alls accent and I don't plan on un subscribing but yet I plan on continuing to support and watch your videos
austin martin thank you, I appreciate it
I loved your walk on the royal mile. I was there during the fringe and it was packed with people. It was different seeing it empty.
Some times i have to stop watching because of just my time line ( take my dog out ect.) but I always come back and finish. Just fyi 😊
I still watch, my dude!
I actually love the Scottish things. It was one of the original reasons I came to your channel. That is crazy people would unsubscribe for Scottish video from a Scottish RUclipsr.
I know, right??
I don't get it either. Who are these people? I'm curious. Why would you subscribe to a Scottish RUclipsr for American content? I like seeing people talk about their countries, what they eat and their daily lives. If I can't be there, at least I can get a peek. What other reason would there be to watch? I like seeing the reactions to visiting the US and all, but I like the London and Scotland videos more. 🤷🏾♀️
Agreed! ^_^
Exactly...what she ☝️ just said!!
Yes, what she said! :D
Exactly!
You are so right!!!
Absolutely.....we want to see your area as well!
Yes more Scotland 👍🏼🤗
Also interesting that this was a very popular video released on a Monday night - maybe Monday is the day!!
You're not banned, just a delay due to the pandemic. You'll get here when you get here.
Thank you for the reminder to watch the videos of Scotland. I mean to watch them, but then I forget because of all the political upheaval that's going on right now. I keep clicking on political stuff, but I'm sure the videos of Scotland are much more pleasant.
The word banned is what got my attention!
Hi Shaun - I live here in the US and I would much rather see more Scottish content!
same
Me too. I really liked the north coast 500 (I think that's what it was)
Samsies!!
Same here!
Absolutely, I agree!
I’m an American. It’s refreshing to see videos of positive content about America! 🥰
Thank you I appreciate it. Hope you can visit soon
Yes, and you actually got to see scenic views without a 1000 tourists in the streets or your photos! Brilliant, wasn't it?
@@shaunvlog OK, lol, as I go through comments, I'm getting more ideas. Since people want to see more of Scotland, and that might be a bit of a stretch for you in your car every week or weekend, would it be possible for you to put up a community question of the places that people would like to see most in the UK or Scotland, and then you choose the places that you're familiar with and live stream with Google Earth, speak live to your viewers?
@@LindaC616 that's a great idea! if it's not too much trouble, Sean, of course. but i can't help express that it's a great idea ;)
Thank you Cynthia I appreciate it
i came for the "watch some scottish guy experience culture shock in america" and stayed for the "shaun". I dont care what you post, i just think youre a cool normal interesting dude and love your content. Screw the haters (unsubscribers)! keep doing your thing man. Much love from Alabama
Dont worry. Just show us more of Scotland
I wish it were that easy. When subs and views goes down so does my income :( I have to find a bit of balance. Thanks for the kind words
Jim Elliott haha brilliant idea
I second that. :) I'm here to watch Scotland anyway. I've seen what I want in America.
As an American, I've enjoyed your vlogs on Scotland, Iceland, etc., as well as your US adventures.
Would rather see Scotland; I’m in the USA and don’t need stuff on the USA!! 🏴🏴🏴🏴
Me too!!! More Scotland/UK
I agree! More of your local and lots of Scotland
SCOTLAND!!! 🏴🏴🏴🥃🥃🥃🏴🏴🏴
I watch for the Scottish content. You will never be able to please all of the people all of the time, so keep up the good work.
I am sorry you are not able to come back to America and while I enjoy watching those vlogs, I enjoy your vlogs about Scotland as much or more!! One of my favorites was your Hogmanay video! I also like your videos of gifts people send you from the US. It is fun watching you open the boxes.
I also love the Scottish stuff.
My late mom used to say something similar, "you really learn who your friends are when the chips are down"
Thanks a lot for being here Desiree - I appreciate ya
I totally agree with you!
@@charwv3556 me too! one of his videos about Scotland was what brought me to his channel in the first place. Definitely want to see more Scotland
Like so many others I paused to say fooey to those who unsubscribe. You don't want to come right now it's a mess. Love your vlog, love Scotland. I was supposed to be in Glasgow right now but had to cancel. Hoping for travel this winter. Hang in there, you will be welcomed again.
It’s comforting to know that London is as surreal as my city, Toronto, Canada. We’re all in this together.
Just commenting to let you know that I was unsubscribed from your channel, but not by my doing. Glad I saw this one!
Stay cool.😎
You read my mind. Would love to see the same non- tourist stuff also! You rock!
@@deetorbett2363 I am right there with you
People are looking to watch whatever helps get them through but, it is hard to distract from Our Presidential Horrors.
@@AnnieWarbux Thank you! Agreed! :)
Have you tried vitamin D, Shaun? Is that what you meant by "diet"? If not, give it a try
If you fly into Texas I’ll tell them you’re my brother. I’ll bring our father who is the county sheriff. If they give you gruff he’ll jack em up.
Haha love this idea
Ok, I love the way you think girl! Lol!
Yes👊🏻🤛🏼💪‼️😁
...
and then they will fire your dad because of it. great idea.
I love the videos of you going to places in the UK especially historic places
Alabama girl here! I love anything u do regarding Scotland! My ancestors from my fathers side migrated to the U.S. from Scotland so I love learning it all. Yes we love when u visit America but u have much to offer us from where u r standing. Do not stress yourself out about those who unsubscribe. Shows their narrow minds. U r awesome!
We also watch Patrick Childress sailing. Yesterday we watched a video made by his wife. They've been travelling S Africa. Long story short. They both contracted covid 19 and he died!! Priorities Shaun! Love you! Stay safe!!
This is awful :( sorry to hear that and thanks for the perspective 💜
I get a kick out of you comparing Scotland to America vids, but the ones I absolutely have just loved are the ones where you are going around showing us sights of Scotland. I love seeing the gorgeous landscape & all of the historical sights of Scottland w/ your perspective on them.
What if we legally adopt you and Teka? That should make you US citizens, and able to enter the US??? hahaha! 😜
Haha I like it! I see the President is signing an executive order to restrict work visas to protect local jobs. This will make a standard working visa for me near impossible, but I guess a sign of the times. Hope you guys are well x
So a great idea.
Never say never! Don't give up on your dreams! 😜
@@shaunvlog Don't expect THAT one to be around much longer.
We can always get our milita take control and demand they make you a United States citizen.
It's a bit spooky and surreal to see parts of London so empty.
And Edinburgh.
There will be 3 more added to the population come end of October/ beginning of November.
I have the exact same thoughts!
Its all bullshit numbers way way inflated
Would love to see more of Scotland until you can visit us again.
Actually, I'm in the airline business and that's not correct. There are, albeit limited, international flughts happening on U.S. carriers every day.
If the self-centered jerks would follow simple mitigation steps, it would be entirely manageable.
I subscribed to watch the stuff from Scotland, but i love it all. You are equally enjoyable to watch no matter what the content. I can't believe that people unsubscribe like that. You are great! Don't change. :)
I'd like to see an Outlander recon ie when are they restarting filming.
No worries, brother. It’s completely understandable with the lockdowns and such. .keep up the good work all your videos are fantastic
I love Scotland and love seeing the countryside
Edinburgh was picturesque!
I love that kind of weather, and it looked like a travel show where they cleared the streets for you.
The Scottish stuff is my favorite!
I’m from Mexico and I only appreciate your Scottish content. I know enough about USA.
Hang in there Shaun, this, too, shall pass. 😉 Can't wait for you to visit S. Carolina!
Being honest though, you don't really want to come here right now. Outside of the northeast, the virus is spreading really quickly and hospitals are being overwhelmed.
I am happy seeing content about the UK. Believe me, it's not a good time right now.
No its not Denver is opening up besides the South is too hot
Beg to differ. No spreading or overwhelming going in my area. 🙂
I'd have to disagree...Washington state is opening up more and more.
@Jim Elliott my folks live in central Florida, and it's definitely opened up
Can't speak for anyone else but, as an American, I'm delighted to watch your videos about Scotland. So fascinating. Keep your chin up!
Boston please, when all this virus hell gets sorted out!
We were banned from coming to Scotland. We went in 2019, and wanted to go back. We had our tickets, and AirBnB's reserved. We really love Scotland, and are sorry that you were so locked down. Prayers for you all to stay healthy.
Why not take us shopping .I'm sure u have different stores and stuff there
show us inside stoers and what stuff is and daily life.
I would definitely watch a vid like that. If he can get permission from shops, it would be so cool to see what that aspect of the culture is like.
The British shops ARE interesting!
The crazy sun thing is called a Sun Dog.
So many people have taken the words out of my mouth in terms of “I would love to see your area of the world” type of content.
However if you rrreeaaalllyy want to create American centric content, perhaps do some videos trying to make/cook “American” food following American recipes. Like:
Casserole Part 1: what the heck is a casserole? (Where you talk about how it has different names depending on where you live, and what that reminds you of as a Scottish person)
Casserole Part 2: getting stuff (what the heck is this ingredient and do I even have it in my Scottish grocery store?)
Casserole part 3: make and taste. (Make it and taste it?)
I stretched it out into more parts then is honestly necessary, and I used casserole as an example because in my hometown we called it hot dish. It seems like the videos where you try American food seem to do best out of the American videos, so this might work.
How many hours away is Edinburgh from London?
About 7 / 8 hours drive
@@shaunvlog is that American hours or metrical hours?
John Bresee 😂
@@shaunvlog even by American standards, that's a decently long drive.
Hi Shaun,
I'm from the US and currently live in Florida.
Your gettin' fed up...It's gettin' ta be like The Road Warrior over here.
🤣
And we hope it does not turn into The Thunder Dome!
Like others, I'm here for the content in Scotland and elsewhere outside the U.S. I appreciate all the work you go to on this channel and I'll be sure to look back to your other videos to see more of Scotland. My family is planning a trip there in two years, so I'll be taking notes.
The virus is bad here, you do not want to come here yet. Stay safe ! Love your channel.
You are smart Debra , traveling overseas and home can cause loss of life .Duncan a Scot
Hey hey now, Minnesota, USA here! Love ya and you do what you can! We know you can't make it over and thanks for sharing the area of the world that most of us can't get to yourselves! Hugs from across the globe, keep it up!
We'll still be here when you can post but you being alive is more important. XD
And I’m just the opposite, I look forward most to the vlogs of London and Edinburgh! Kudos to you for wearing a mask in London, we are required to wear masks when inside buildings and in public spaces here.
You can thank our orange leader for you not being allowed in the USA.
I won't quit the channel and I won't quit Patreon!
Thank you President Trump for finally putting American citizens first!
Comments like that that make a nice conversation turn ugly. As if COVID is the president’s fault. It’s really uncalled for.
(Might be too controversial but you have handled those things delicately in the past)
--Scottish guy reacts to American Candy (All of your reaction videos always pop up for me. Doesn't have to be Candy!)
--I've noticed a lot of the foreign youtubers I follow making videos of themselves cutting their hair for the first time. Very amusing! But at your expense :)
--Everyones talking about how to change classroom settings here in America because of the virus.
It would probably be a lot less stressful too.😉
I don't understand why the ratings would fall when you talk about Scotland. That is my favorite content.
Wish I knew - I think it’s just the majority prefer US stuff
Hey, Uncle Shaun. Real good videos, keep it up!
