Price is what makes Patek so desirable. There is 16 million Ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNWI) with a net worth of at least $30 million and this market is growing. It’s a market that’s more than enough for Patek. I don’t know why are watch enthusiasts so obsessed with watches that are Veblen goods. You can get watches that are just as good for a fraction of the price.
Let's get real here, this is rubbish. Same bracelets, same dials, same movement as in the aquanot's a reference to their silly 30m water resistance. It's took them 25 years to re hash a Glashutte Panorama which was launched in 1997. This is a dreadful move from Patek.

"The design feels unfinished to me." "The Nautilus is congruent. It all flows into each other. The design feels cohesive." Very good, very sensitive observations. Good eye. There are a number of design rules being broken in this piece - based on the photos, as you noted.
"Have you ever been deeper than 30 m? If not, it's time to let it go!" - Are you kidding? I lost a watch I really liked that was 3 atm because I once wore it on a hike in summer, and it turns out I was sweating a bit too much and a bit of sweat got into the case and ruined the movement forever. A $45.000 "sporty" watch shouldn't be at risk of falling apart because your wrist gets sweaty. That said, it's nice to hear the opinion of the only watch RUclipsr who has something nice to say about this thing.
Exactly. 30 m is not to be taken literally, it means you can risk to wash your hands without taking off the watch. 50m means „you can wash your hands a little longer“ and 100m is safe for ordinary swimming on the surface. 200 m is for real diving.
@@ailestriker9888no, sweaty wrists should not have damaged a 30m wr watch. Maybe your case was damaged or the case back was not properly screwed to the case, allowing moisture to reach the movement. In order to have a damaging impact it must have been a lot of sweat though that was able to get into the case.
30m is the static pressure of water at 30m, not depth you can take the watch. Movement of the wrist/watch increases the pressure so it will leak. I would assume a fault with the case of the watch is the reason the sweat got in.

Britt, great video as always. I'm in the same boat as you are. Unlike most enthusiast I like what Patek is trying to do with this watch, and I don't hate the look. I also agree that I'm not the intended buyer for the watch. I'm being careful with the knee jerk reactions of watch community on this one as we could have what I like to refer to the Daytona effect. 10 years from now this could be the hottest watch on the market and all the nay sayers will talk about how they could not understand why it was not popular at launch time.
You know! There was a livestream where Thierry was talking about the Monaco being some of the inspo! He loves the Monaco but finds it a bit thick! So wanted to do a Patek square watch
I dig it! Square (ish) watches are the next big thing. They really are! Maen and Bulova started the trend. It's catching on. You heard it here first. YOU will have a square (ish) watch on your wrist soon.
It’s a story of multiple clashes for me. That rounded Nautilus handset with angular markers. The baseplates with proper CdG engraving and the cheap-looking bars on the micro rotor. None of the models quite gel imo.
Sorry, but I'm calling it. I've owned a few PPs and currently my favourite is my 5170G (see my video). But, this is an elbow to the gut, at least for PP purists. They've clearly cheapened out on the rotor finishing and that kills it for me, even before we start to look at the "Cartier Santos", dressed up differently. Sure, it will be available at launch, hoarders will pre-order these in in the hope that in a few years this reaches Nautili status. Sure, go for it, but the finishing of the movement is paramount, and for this price point, they've cut corners. We can't expect Lange or FP Journe level finishing, but at least the general level of PP finishing as of 4 years ago shouldn't be cheapened. Thanks, Britt, your content is great - keep 'em coming. Best, Mike.
I agree with your ending thoughts. It needed a bracelet more similar to the Royal Oak. And in my opinion, fit more like a vintage Royal Oak or Nautilus. 🤷🏾♂️. Still cool looking and exciting! Hopefully they will release smaller versions
Dullard Thierry has been hanging around with too many trust fund babies I suspect. This is the perfect watch for 'rebels' who hate everything their parents built, just for the sake of being different. It's the perfect metaphor for that demographic as with the 'Cubitus' release, the infant Thierry will finally destroy everything the parent Genta created at Patek.
This is a great balanced video. Andy, we have to remember, when nautilus first came out, they did not sell at all. They were being discounted. But the price point is not “entry-level”. These are expensive watches
Yeah honestly it would have just been a safe nice looking watch with a beautiful bracelet with the wings but with them the proportions don’t seem right 🤷♂️
To me, Patek has presented a clear concept. It’s right there in the name. So the straight finishing on the rotor is in the same design language. Though I prefer the circular finish too, just like you. Perhaps they tried it, and it looked out of place. I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt… Also, please never hate yourself. Even if you get a sunburn. ✌🏽
This is proof right here that the snobs will only call a watch a homage when it’s cheap. When it’s a luxury brand it gets some magical free pass.

PP could release a polished turd and you’d like it.
What size are these?
My real complaint is they didn’t put a square movement in it… otherwise I like it
Britt, great video as always.
If I‘d buy a square watch, I‘d opt for a Monaco..
You know! There was a livestream where Thierry was talking about the Monaco being some of the inspo! He loves the Monaco but finds it a bit thick! So wanted to do a Patek square watch
1133B is gorgeous but fragile
@@BrittPearceWatchesThierry should have just bought a Tetra Neomatic and called it a day.
A good alternative for the middle class.
I'd rather have an Hermes H08. This is cheap, nasty design.
Best,
Mike.
Remember the successful JLC Reverso Squadra? Yeah…
Best Old Money Watch ⌚❤
If the green dial setup was available in blue, it'd fly out the shop
You know, I was thinking it’s a shame there isn’t a blue!
They have to leave something for next year@@BrittPearceWatches
Simply put: it looks like a microbrand.
But the two tone one is amazing with the blue dial
the majority of young people dont have 30k to drop on watch with 30m of water resistance - i must move in the wrong circles clearly
Clearly not for real watch enthusiasts. It's for the fashion crowd. The hype hunters
super surprised the grand date is not at least an annual calendar !!
I like the all steel version. But look forward to the Pagani Design copy.
🤣 won’t be long!
I agree with your ending thoughts. It needed a bracelet more similar to the Royal Oak. And in my opinion, fit more like a vintage Royal Oak or Nautilus. 🤷🏾♂️. Still cool looking and exciting! Hopefully they will release smaller versions
So ugly, high end brands don’t evolve they just keep doing what works.
This definitely doesn't work
Love this Patek Casio!
It was designed by committee and it shows
I love all 3 britt...another great video. Thanks
Patek is now doing homage watches.... of the cartier santos... how the mighty have fallen... disapointing
Great job Brit. Very informative, Thank you
Dullard Thierry has been hanging around with too many trust fund babies I suspect. This is the perfect watch for 'rebels' who hate everything their parents built, just for the sake of being different. It's the perfect metaphor for that demographic as with the 'Cubitus' release, the infant Thierry will finally destroy everything the parent Genta created at Patek.
🤣🤣 very strong thoughts!
This is a great balanced video. Andy, we have to remember, when nautilus first came out, they did not sell at all. They were being discounted. But the price point is not “entry-level”. These are expensive watches
A safe design by committee ruined by the Nautilus wings and same again boring hands and dial. I'd take a Santos over this every time.
Yeah honestly it would have just been a safe nice looking watch with a beautiful bracelet with the wings but with them the proportions don’t seem right 🤷♂️
Really wonderful!
I don't need a Patek anymore, this has turned me off the whole brand. Pukitus 🤮
Oh gosh - I totally understand not being into it
😂😂😂😂
Nice and objective preview with a pinch of humor as always expected from Britt.
Everything i need to know is that is sh*t.
Bahaha! SO COLD! ;)
@@BrittPearceWatches hahaha sorry! I need it to say it! But incredible vids britt i love them! Best story telling of all watchyoutubers
The two tone looks nice. But the steel watch looks not so exclusive
Lazy design.
It's all in the branding baaaabeh! It's not lazy, it's.... "Inspired" ;) haha
I was thinking almost exactly this: needs to be smaller and have a straighter tapering. So yes! We are soul mates!
First!!!!!
Ahhh stop it right NOW, the early gang is here!
Cartier Santos meets Tag Monaco Meets Bell and Ross. Basically, a San Martin.
5121 or 5821?
Interesting perspective, still no idea what the things are on the sides that makes it look so much fatter. I do wish it was 5mm smaller.
The sports lines of AP, Rolex, Omega, and Cartier use a similar theme; VC are you watching?
Makes way more sense than the Nautilus ever did. People tend to forget the hate both the Nautilus and the Aquanaut had back then. It's gorgeous
Love it. Looks classy and everybody can see this is an Patek.
I get it’s not the most creative, but I do like the contrast of the two tone, I could see it being my first square watch.
Beautiful Watch
To me, Patek has presented a clear concept. It’s right there in the name. So the straight finishing on the rotor is in the same design language. Though I prefer the circular finish too, just like you. Perhaps they tried it, and it looked out of place. I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt…
Also, please never hate yourself.
Even if you get a sunburn.
✌🏽
I really like it. Then again I love divisive watches.
I love the Steel version ❤
But never be able to afford it.
They should have squared off the middle links in the bracelet a bit more aswell. To differ from the Nautilus and make it its own thing.
Nice watch 😮
