I thought I was going to die, once, and I didn't panic, there was nothing I could do. I was just sad because I was going to leave my children without a father. I didn't die. Yet.

To be fair with Hal, the light pollution around Vegas was weirdly absent. I'd assume I was on an alien planet too if I could actually SEE the stars clearly

In fairness to the ring, he didn’t know it was vegas and in fact thought that it was an unknown alien planet to its user. But guess considering on all the stuff that stays in vegas it must of registered as a unknown alien planet XD

At first glance you wouldn’t think Batman would tell the League, but then you remember his first message was sent to the entire Green Lantern core and they definitely would tell. If it was only Batman he probably wouldn’t say anything, but maybe some acknowledgment between the two in private.
I think Bruce is cool enough to keep the second message a secret between them
Guy definitely would - dude is the ultimate jerk. Kilowog would probably mock him in private, John would be understanding and Kyle wouldn't say a damn. But Guy would try to spread the news to the entire galaxy, from Colu to New Genesis. Heck, he'd even tell Darkseid!

He poured his heart out to his friends thinking he'd die, but when he didn't, they laughed about it.

It's actually normal. If he did die, they would be unable to stop crying, listening to those messages on repeat.
But as he is alive - he is a dummy for being on Earth all this time.
And, to be fair, Vegas and Nevada Deserts do look like alien planets. That's why they are used as such in films.
So yah, he got what he deserved for not looking around while he had a chance.
Also teasing each other is okay. And he made Batman, of all people, laugh. That is an achievement.

It was a harmless good heart laugh, their not laughing at GL, their laughing with him. Mistakes do happen and its funny when you realized you commited a slight mistake which made the entire JL laughed. Itll be the opposite if it did happened. Friends show their support and laugh at our small mistakes, but that doesnt mean they're not concerned at us.

So, sound doesn't propagate in space, he had in mind he was in alien planet, we know Hal is a former jet pilot, so most likely he wouldn't do that. However, he knew that sending the message to batman would be the same of sending the message to superman.

I refuse, through, to believe Hal would use one of his last messages for frigging Bruce. Barry or Oliver, but Bruce? Nah.
Hal and Batman has an animosity towards each other. Batman hates Hal because the GLC are fearless and Bats cannot use fear against them. And Hal hates Batman because the Dark Knight don't trust no one, and he distrust Hal the most.
I see it more has he had somthing to say to Batman that was never said. Ollie knows he loves him, Barry too, they have spent countless hours together.
But Bruce is a loner, even in the League he is quiet outside the missions and he never had a chance to actually said how much he respected him.

This Hal is an knucklehead one of the first things you learn in basic training is navigation and to keep your equipment/supplies, ready & with you
IE: It’s night so try to look for constellations he could possibly recognize and keep his ring charger in the pocket dimension etc..

Hal Jordan is a corpymen to the end. There is something I was wondering 🤔 when seeing the distress call their was many Green lanterns & Blue Lanterns but there wasn’t any Pink or Indigo Lanterns. The pink one fans know but the Indigo Tribe people barely know them. The question is why didn’t Hal also call the Indigo Tribe like Indigo-1 or Munk also?

@@davidtucker9498I definitely know the landmarks to look for in the night sky where I live and Ive never taken any time to study the sky or anything I just look up every now and again. I would assume anyone thats lived in one location for a number of years would either consciously or subconsciously be able to recognise the landmarks in their night sky and be able to recognise when those landmarks aren’t there anymore.

Man i would not have laughed at him. Id be laughing with him, at the situation, but id have great respect for how he handles the situation, even though it wasnt actually that dangerous.
I would have been pissed at them. My "friends" making fun of me accepting my fate and saying goodbye to those I either cared about or needed to apologize to would end friendships.
Anyone who laughed would have instantly proven they have never feared dying, let alone believing they were about to do so in one of the most painful ways possible.
To be honest, he is getting teased as payment for causing them a heart attack.

There was a "Twilight Zone" with some stranded astronauts, and it turned out they were in Nevada too.
All credit to Hal, he was brave and calm to the end. That's the Hal I've always liked. He's not afraid to die fighting the good fight, trying to be the best man he can. The fact that he has doofus moments is fine by me too.

Of course, the astronauts in that one left earth just minutes ago and landed on an "asteroid" where they know the gravity, atmosphere, temperature, sky, and ground are all earth-like. There was no reason for those astronauts to assume they were on an asteroid. I'm astonished that one astronaut didn't say "what a stroke of luck! This asteroid has a Reno Nevada too; that will help us get back to earth!"
They should not have teased him. He thought he was dying and was the most vulnerable and honest he could be. Those thoughts and feelings should have mattered more than being the butt-end of a joke.
The green and blue lanterns: why is he sending this form earth? Should we be glad he sent us this message if it was not earth or worried it could happen again later?

I really hate these green lanterns that don’t have certainty and providence as a way of thinking. They should not have self doubt. But still a good story

I'd have thought the ring was resilient enough to withstand explosions. Destructible? Okay, but I would expect it either to be functional or non-functional, never malfunctional.
I'd like to see more sources indicating that a ring would or wouldn't ever return an error message like that.

Oh hey. I know it's ultra petty and I don't mean it like that at all. But corps is pronounces exactly like core. Only reason I point this out is because I spent years pronouncing epitome as epi tome and nobody pointed it out and nobody else used it in their vernacular so it was a big presentation I was doing for my division before they all pointed and laughed at me lmao. It was rough. Anyways. From one dude that reads stuff that is rarely spoken aloud to another nice work.
