I have the most beautiful, amazing, wonderful, wife in the world and am always trying to be a better husband for her. This is all good advice but I am hoping to find advice that would bring my wifes happiness to the next level. There are no words to express how much I love her.

Best thing you can do is shoot the sht with her at least a little every day, just like you would with a guy friend. That's the #1 thing that keeps a marriage alive: conversation.

Try not to overwhelm your wife with that love brother. She's human, and she may make mistakes. Just being authentic and caring is enough. Pray for her, take care of her and encourage her. In some cases women pressure themselves to be perfect when they realize how deeply they are loved by their husband, that may not be your wife, but I'm just saying to be very observant and do not love her to the point that you idolize her, remember God and give thanks for your wife.

Focus on the little things. Send her a text in the middle of the day to say you’re thinking about her. Give her flowers and small gifts on random days not near a birthday or holiday. Women absolutely love these little gestures. As an added bonus, if your wife works outside the house, have the flowers delivered to her job. If you want to be the superstar husband, focus on being romantic without it being sexual.

I actually am guilty of the first one. If I see a hot women I do look, can't help. I feel like it's basic instinct. is that wrong? not sure and my wife does the same thing and even tells me about good looking women and men she sees

I'm an recovering alcoholic and emotions and showing them are very hard and forgiven to me. So my wife and I are 3 years into our marriage. I've been sober for 8 years. It's been very hard for her to understand and for me to articulate. We came to a breaking point. She was done. I very realized that I needed more work on me outside of AA. So I have been reading and learning about emotions, and intimacy. I've found education and action is everything in life, love and family. That's for sharing these tips. I'm working on them not so much for her but for me so I can be a better me and husband.

    • @jackwalker1822
      @jackwalker1822 2 года назад +1

AA can help some people but I am not a big fan of it. Too much talking about the past. Also if God delivers you from alcoholism you are not still an alcoholic. But of course you have to be diligent not to start again. I would recommend going to church and finding a mentor/accountability partner and getting through challenges through prayer and Bible study. And perhaps even finding a ministry to do to help others. And a mentor, perhaps older, to help you with challenges in your marriage.

I can't put in to words, how great of advice this is. I'm not a married man but I'm in a serious relationship. This has pointed out things I didn't realise were red flags. We've been having some rough times lately due to my own issues. This video, alone has discussed the problems and the solutions I've been having. Thanks a lot mate. I really appreciate all your advise.

Brett Ullman what is your view off stay at home dads? I have had 4 strokes and physically have had problems where the company let me go. Because of this I am now a stay at home dad. I do the housework, cook, and care for my five children.
My wife and I have been praying almost daily. It has helped us grow closer together.

The best way a man can show his love to his wife is to have sex with her but I assume sex is too difficult to perform for those wimps who treat their wives as goddesses.
After all , you cannot have sex with someone who is not of flesh and bones like you ....

I have been married for 22 years, Recently within the last 3 weeks my marriage looked as if it was approaching the end, I simply I had just for forgotten how to show basic respect to my wife as stupid as that sounds. It had occurred to me that I had taken much for granted and given back very little, I love my wife very much yet I was not practicing love " expressing it IE: giving back " and she really just did not feel loved at all, Now I just work at it One day at a time and it is working, I just seen your video but I do have to say I wish I would have seen it back in 2018!! Thank you Brett Ullman you have some sound advice.

Interesting video. I appreciate that I was able to search RUclips and land on a video that basically was exactly what I was looking for. This video helped me to reflect on myself as a partner (not yet married) and try to decide, as you made each point, if I was being the best that I can be at each of those points. The answer is no. And as much as it irritates me that there should definitely be some responsibilities thrown at my partner, I know that that is not what this video is for and that I need to fight that back and swallow it down because this is about me being a better person for her and for our family, NOT about who is more right or more wrong.

number 7 and 3 really meant a lot to me I just moved countries and we used to go to bed at the same time most nights, but that was when I was working 6 days a week, I also heavy game I make mistakes and so does she but we always prevail, she came home from work and started reorganizing the living room for the holidays (xmas) and got tired and frustrated and went to bed so I did all of it and her face and smile lit up more than the xmas tree I put up, I'm improving but it's honestly worth it all if I get to see that for the rest of my life, we just gotta work on our tempers lol really appreciate the video man!!

I'm not married yet but I'm glad I found this video. My father failed and continues to fail at every single one of these things. He is a pathetic husband and a lousy father and does not honor my mother at all. My mother has continued to live with him despite these challenges in the hope that I will turn out better, which is what I intend to do. The way my mother is treated by my father has always been a source of pain and anger in my life. I want to be a good father and husband but I've had a hard time finding good resources that can guide me so I'm very happy to have come across this video.

Man, I just watched this and have been praying about wanting to be a better husband and dad because I’ve been terrible at it for so long. I didn’t have a great example of it growing up and neither did my dad because he didn’t have an example either so it has been this ongoing thing but my wife deserves better. And I want to be that better. It starts with honoring your wife and loving your wife as Christ loved the church.
I have failed at this and I’m past the point of words with her. I have to prove it to her. God help me as I spend the rest of my life proving my love and devotion to my wife.

Wives , submit to your husbands in everything . That is what the Bible puts first and foremost in e very marriage instruction.
But of course , all those modern wimps who worship woman never speak the truth about it.
Wives are told to be "loved" ( they play with the love stuff just like Delilha played with it and trapped Samson) but NEVER to obey their husbands.
They are also told that they still have ownership of their bodies , which is plain devilish.
If it was not so , why would this man in the video tell husbands not to "force themselves" on their wives sexually ?????????
Does not the BIBLE teach that the wife's body belongs to the husband ? Does not the Bible teach that we all get married in order to be safe from sexual temptations?
See how DEVILISH modern teachings regarding marriages are ?
Western Christianity is under a curse. Isaiah 3:12

I have such a beautiful wife who deserves nothing but the best. My wife has acknowledged that I've been working on myself, but I know I haven't done enough. I've been working hard on not being so critical and also being soft spoken. For a while, it seemed like every word that came out of my mouth was critical or harsh. My wife felt disconnected from me for a bit. I'm making big steps to stop negative behavior. One of my biggest struggles is addiction that many men get introduced to. Its very very hard to break from it, but I know its very possible as you said. I love my wife, so the battle to be better is worth it

Sometimes it's hard because I'm a truck driver and she right here with me all the time but still complain Sometimes and it's upsetting because I look at it like if I was in that position to kick up my feet and my partner pays everything life is great. What if you have a learning disability? My wife is the most amazing person. She's getting stressed with two dogs and myself. I want to Help. When I can't remember where dishes go, that's not helping her

Thanks for your message. You need to find ways you can help that you are able to. Work at helping in the area of your strengths. You could also see if there are ways you can assist you. Pictures of where the dishes go?

This is an age old problem in my house too. Just like I don't know where his tools in the garage go, I just put them neatly in the garage and allow him to put those things away. Put away what you can in the kitchen, and leave a stack of items you aren't familiar with and a nice note that says "I couldn't remember where to put these, if you'll show me, I'll make a note and remember for next time :)"
It goes such a long way! My husband asking me every 10 seconds where something goes is the exact opposite of helping.

If your wife is hung up about things being in their proper place, that's not healthy. No kids yet, eh? Kids will fix that issue right quick. By the time you're both fifty, she be leaving the spatula in the laundry room and crap. Live like cave people, that's my advice. Hey, read "The Pearl," by John Steinbeck. Have her read it, too. You'll both learn about "the song of the family," and what really matters, and it sure as heck has nothing to do with organizing the cupboards, lol.

Be more practical splitting up the housework more throughout the week listen to this video One More Time

  • @connergoldberg

Still relevant. I'm not the best at getting involved with my kids and doing the housework haha, but actively working on it! And yeah, a lot of the time I'm working on my own business well into the later hours of the night when our kids are in bed so it takes its toll not going to bed at the same time or having as much time to spend with my family like I should.
The way I try to combat it is by actively having a set schedule and alarm every day. My wife hates knowing that I have to fit her into a calendar/schedule so that's just a personal secret of mine haha T_T.
As for the housework, I am trying to get into the groove of making lunches/dinner for our kids while they get fed.

I failed the first thing he said. I didn’t want to get married until I was at least 40 and I got married at 25. Now I am regretting it
All the other points are great! I agree with all of them and I like the perspective to honour our wives. It’s the best thing a husband can do
