one hint of safety advice young lady, always know what town you are near or in, and what mile marker you turned and left the main road all this is very helpful to you and your emergency responders to reach you faster in case you need them, stay safe
Chantel, i want to apologize. Im one of the peeps who piped up about going to a library, etc. Boy is it easy to suggest to someone what they need to do! I am full time also BUT im in a larger van and I am able to carry a 1500 watt small ginny so when my batteries go low and no sun I have back up. Im soory, of course you cant leave joey, i have a dog too. I do feel awful...please accept my apologies. I once walked by your van in Q, two years ago and wanted to say hi but i didnt. Next time for sure. Thank you for your videos
Hi Chantelle- I was having the same issue with blowing the fuse to charge my Bluetti AC200Max, my solution was to install an inverter and it sits below my passenger seat. It was a Renogy 700Watt inverter ($120 approx.) plugs directly into my car battery, bought the battery cables on Amazon. Then I just plug in the wall charger while I drive. I am a girl too lol so if I can do it you can too. Good luck girly, love your content.
Chantelle, pack what you have around (blankets, cushions, clothing) your fridge to keep it cold so it doesn’t use so much power. I so admire how self reliant and resourceful you are. I’m a lot like that. I’m an only girl who grew up with 6 brothers, so self reliant. 🥰🥰
Dang girl, I was excited for you to get back on the road but, I hate that you are not enjoying it any chance you could go back to your mom's until cooler weather comes? I know it has to be stressful on you and poor Joey too. Hope thing's get better for you. Self Care is very important. We love ya!
Hi Chantel and Joey, always a pleasure watching your videos. You Seriously need to have a mechanic check what's going on with the fuses going out, it can cause an electrical fire placing you in endanger, I mean what would you do if your vehicle gets totaled, you're taking a huge risk not having it checked. That's way more important than editing videos
Try looking at Kenny of all Trades. He camps in tight spaces all along Lake Superior. I like his content. He also has a dog as well and a truck camper. My roommate was listening to you talk about your power struggles, and in lieu of what I'm going to say, maybe go and pick up a small gas generator one you could just stick in the way back, that way you could use it to charge your jackery and keep your fridge going. U could get a pretty good one at harbor freight about half the cost of another jackery. Just a thought.
It was so hot and humid last week.. This week is so much better. High of 68 today up north near the Mackinaw bridge. Lake Huron is great. Lots more boondock areas. And More dog friendly places as well. 😊
Hey Chantelle! I'm so sorry your lovely lakeside campsite stay had to be cut short. What a bummer. The weather just doesn't cooperate sometimes. But, good idea getting a cheap hotel room for a night to rejuvenate and recharge! Sometimes you just gotta do these things. Take care and I hope things start to work out better soon.-Sue
Sometimes you gotta splurge for that motel/hotel when there's a crazy heatwave. Last summer I was lucky enough to be able to afford a hotel room a couple of times when it was a heat advisory. This year I'm not as financially blessed so I have just been finding shade to park in and not doing activities during peak heat hours, but I too have a pet so going to library or coffee shop is tricky. When asked I say, "I'm travelling right now and didn't want to leave him in the hot car to die, but if you want me to do that I can". Usually that shuts people up.
It's 90 degrees as I'm watching you sitting in a tent in the sun eating my lunch...my poor dogs keep looking at me n saying. WT.. WHEN ARE WE GOING IN THE A/C? I TOLD THEM WHEN I FINISH EATING AND CLEANING UP...WERE OUT OF HERE!!! WE are fully roasted!!! Stay safe n have fun!!! Tell Baby Joey I love him!!!
Glad you grabbed a room for the night to get some relief from the heat and charge everything. You and Joey be safe out there. You're right, the weather has been hot and terrible every where. We've had a lot of thunderstorms and flooding her in CT.
I said this under her last video. Parks, libraries, car washes, coffee shops…I have a Jackery E1500 that I would carry in a sewing tote and charge in coffee shops and libraries when necessary.
Howdy👋 I feel you on most of your difficulties. I’m here in the PNW. This part of Washington is the bomb. Aside from, finding boondocking spots and finding the sun. Constant overcast, fog and these trees don’t let the sun hit the ground. The Hoh rainforest was incredible. Be safe and see you down the road. #vanlife
Sorry for all your difficulties, Still glad you share your life however. Love this video just as much. Still brings me to a happy place just to watch. Thank you for your channel Ms, Chantel. I hope I did not misspell your name .😏
If your van is an older model, the cig plug is actually a cig lighter which is a red hot coil that overheats your charge plug. My old van does that too. I carry 2 bluetti power stations. New van has just a charge plug but I still can't overload the amps. Hope you get cooler weather soon
Something that would help you in addition to solar is to get a car battery thats a deep cycle...agm battery ..your car runs on it instead of using the typical battery..die hard makes them ..duracell..optimum etc..they take on a lot more electronics..especially phones or radio...they range from about 150 to 250 but are well worth the investment..look into it..i think it would help you..i use them in my car and its very helpful.
I hope you have enjoyed your time on Lake Huron. We lived in Port Huron years ago. I hope Lake Superior is all you hope it would be. Driving over the Big Mac can be wild!! There are a lot of agates to be found!! Good luck and I hope you find a Petosky Stone!
Yeah it's hard in summer especially in Florida! Keep going. Fall is coming! I'd love to travel more but medical issues keep me in one spot for now. I know that Nashville is very dog friendly but the fall is best time to go. Happy travels my friend.
I just found your channel and live by Grand Rapids. Kruse Park dog beach is the best! The weather has been Florida hit and humid lately. Much better weather now. I hope you get a sunny spot soon!
That’s good advice always know your mark and the town in and out just in case your van breaks down don’t forget you fuse just keep you and Joey safe you should travel up to north west pet friendly here we’re I am located and cooler weather as well so glad your back on one of my favorite to watch
It's been triple digits here for most of the summer. I'm ready for Fall, which will bring a little color and cooler temperatures. I like your camp oven setup.
More adventuring! You will be fine. Do keep an eye on the weather as you may be in the outer ring of the hurricane heading NE....so more humid stormy weather than you want may be around...just pay attention to where it is going..... be happy, sweet lady!
Welcome to my Michigan! This is way late but best spot on Huron is Tawas point State park where you can see sunset and sunrise everyday and best rock hunting is whitefish point in UP.❤❤❤
I'm sorry your stay in Michigan hasn't been so favorable. I live here in Michigan and Michigan is known for camping and summer time recreation being surrounded by the great lakes and many inland lakes. It is true I guess we don't offer much in free camping. :( If I had the time, I'd love to meet you and treat you to a nights stay at one of the many state parks. You are in the same area my son and his gf are camping at this weekend. They are enjoying a weekend long music fest right there near Baldwin. My daughter lives in Ludington so she's near too. Reach out if there is anything you need. I enjoy watching your journey .. I'm in the thumb area .. Port Huron is a nice place to go .. you can look across the river and see Canada from there. They have a beautiful river walk and it takes you under the Blue Water Bridge .. enjoy your stay !
$3 bag of ice in my fridge has saved my “bacon” many times! Summer in the midwest usually includes heat, humidity and those teensy black flies that just love your face! Didn’t see the flies!! 🎉
It takes up a lot of real estate in my minivan but I love my doggie stroller. I can roll her in with me most places including grocery stores. I don’t ask, just roll her in like I don’t know better. I get a few looks but nobody has yet told me to leave.
Does ur 12 volt plug stay in the jackery better then in the bluetti while driving? My 12 vt frig cord will not stay in the 12 volt port in the bluetti..ive been dealing with this for 3 years!! All i hear while driving is my frig beeping on n off 🤬🤬 petosky is in the lower part of Mi and is one of the main cities known for the petosky stones. I want one of the ovens u put on the stove too. Go to a local park tht might have a pavillion with an outlet to charge for free and u can stay there all day
I hope the weather starts cooperating! At least rain keeps the fires down. Sounds like you need a different power bank and panels. Shouldn't be blowing fuses like that. Life is stressful enough. Anyway, I hope you find beautiful agates... don't weigh down the van 😂😂. Love you, girl, and looking forward to seeing you next week. 💙💙💙
I'm glad you found somewhere to stay for you and Joey. I live in Michigan and thank you for letting us know about the the not dog friendly lake spots. Bummer. Safe travels
If you can, in the future change your Jackery to a Bluetti .There products have fast charging capabilities (fully charged in under 2 hours) and are reasonably priced. All the best on your travels.
This reminds me of the record breaking heat wave we had when I was living in my van. I made sure to stay in the shade and near water. I was able to find some surprisingly cool places, like natural AC.
I don’t know if there’s a harbor freight nearby where your traveling through. But they have a clip on cigarette lighter port that clips directly to your battery. I don’t know how accessible it is in your minivan. It might work for you and then you wouldn’t have to worry about your fuse popping.
Have you thought about buying a small gas-powered generator for these sorts of times. A small one should run you about $250, and it would allow you to run your fridge and power up your jackery at the same time. I suggest a Honda one. They are very reliable.
It sure is wearisome some times I bet,but you sure stayed noble and carried on ! All these little things that mount up to make a big problem are handled proactively by you,an admirable trait, lucky Joey Mom is a problem solver ! Take care ,if its of any comfort...the weather has been putrid here in sticks and bticks...no a/c some fans, reading, art ,music simle recipies to stay healthy.Do you eat tuna ? Tuna, mash white beans in,dill ,spicy mustard ( you can temper that any way you like ) Add chopped fresh celery, green pepper, scallions, onions , carrots whatever you have. Its light very energizing and full of protein.1 can of tuna is stretched to 2 or 3 meals. Good luck, know you are respected and blessed..
You cracked me up in this one. I really enjoy following you and that cute Joey. Stay safe and come visit down here in Louisiana sometime. Free boondocking on Rutherford Beach.✌️
I have to ask, as a fellow female traveler who travels and camps alone, do you ever get scared to camp out by yourself in such remote areas? I've seen you camp a lot in places that don't have many or any campers near you. I especially worry when locals see me that they may come back at night to cause trouble. What is your advice? Thanks
As a Michigander (people born and raised in Michigan) it’s hard to find boondocking places. Thanks for sharing this lake spot. Check out Alpena and Cheboygan on Lake Huron! Mackinaw City has a spot McGulpin Point has a rocky beach great view of the bridge. Really enjoying your Michigan trip! Safe travels.
Beautiful spot on the lake! It’s hard to travel with a pup in non-friendly places. We live in Oregon which we feel is very dog friendly but ran into this problem a lot down in CA. 🥰
Manistee and Huron National Forests in lower MI is good for boondocking. In the U.P. there is Hiawatha National Forest. Check Google maps because there’s also state forests. Any state recreation areas require a state permit. I’m from MI and have boondocked all over the state.
I was thinking about going north to MI. Don't they have some pay Campgrounds to plug into & be able to take a shower, maybe cheaper than the hotel? Just curious.
I sympathize with the battery issues. I don't what your financial situation is or if you have any options for a brand deal or something with Jackery, but in your situation with no generator or other way to charge your Jackery other than solar, you really need to upgrade to a newer model as soon as you can. I know the newer ones charge much faster. I personally have a small EcoFlow that is several years old and it charges from dead to full in a little over an hour. In the summer it will run my small fridge for a couple of days, but I can pull into a rest area or public park and find an outlet to charge it up if necessary. Not trying to tell you what to do, I swear. I'm sure that gets annoying. Just worry about you. P.S. I'm from Michigan and the humidity can be killer. All you can do is head north and try to stay as close to a body of water as you can. Hope you're having fun anyway. It is a beautiful state.
Just another charging suggestion, hope is not dumb .lol ..cant you charge the Jackery as you drive? Ours does. Or maybe 🤔 invest in a generator that charges faster, like Oupes or bluetti??
What/where are you charging that the fuse is blowing? I had a similar issue with jackery and cigarette lighter. That is a cheap part that breaks or overheats, causing the fuse to go. A mechanic can swap it cheap
Do you have a Cig charger for your Jackery? so it can charge as you drive? There are also Inverters on Amazon, I have a 1000 Watt one and a 500 Watt one... You should not be having to stay in high dollar camp grounds or hotels... They cost way to much... I have been a Gypsy/nomad for 20 yrs now...
Yep, it's the heat. Go sit in a tub of cool water for a while. Or find someplace with a/c to do your editing. I don't tolerate very hot temperatures. I just have to be good to myself. You're a very determined person. Take care. Your videos can be whatever length you choose. OK? 😅
You need more than one battery. That will make a big difference. I like your little camping place. I would like to send you a care package, do you have a P.O. Box? It won’t be anything large because you don’t have room.❤❤❤
Airbnbs are sometimes cheaper than hotels and are so much nicer with tons of additional amenities like washers and dryers, etc. Summers are definitely difficult in nomadic life that's why I've looked up chasing 70's routes as I begin my nomad life in a few days to avoid the heat. Enjoy the upper peninsula, and 🤞 you find free camping and cooler weather.
I've seen some parks that have electrical . In Nebraska I watch this guy and it's not that much like 15.00 for power. I'm not from there but maybe you can find more of those to help .
one hint of safety advice young lady, always know what town you are near or in, and what mile marker you turned and left the main road all this is very helpful to you and your emergency responders to reach you faster in case you need them, stay safe
That is such good advice. I recently learned the value and reasons for mile markers. I know should have known, but didn't. Be safe !
Joey is such a trooper..he can sleep anywhere! ❤
Enjoying coffee with "my basic journey". best sunday routine
I need a hammock
Cheers!

Very well done video, as usual! Your videos are never boring! I know that takes a lot of skill and work.
Girl I feel ya. I'm following the weather in Montana but it's even getting hot up in the mountains. Trying to hold out😊
Sometimes you gotta splurge for that motel/hotel when there's a crazy heatwave. Last summer I was lucky enough to be able to afford a hotel room a couple of times when it was a heat advisory. The heat can be challenging! We normally just head away from the heat, use a LOT of ventilation and fans when possible! Thanks for sharing!
I am glad you treated yourself to a hotel. Less stress. I hope things get better.💜

This video really taught me why I don't want to bother traveling too far east. REALLY inconvenient and crappy weather.
Glad you grabbed a room for the night to get some relief from the heat and charge everything. You and Joey be safe out there. You're right, the weather has been hot and terrible every where. We've had a lot of thunderstorms and flooding her in CT.
I feal your frustration! Better days to come.👍🇨🇦😎👌🌊🕊🌞
Love seeing you and Joey on your adventures. The smooth jazz is back!
It's always a pleasure to watch your videos, especially with Joey. I hope you find the sun soon. Take care 😊
I have found that small towns that have a park with a pavilion also have places where you can plug in your power bank to recharge

Find that sweet spot between the dry heat of the desert and the cool mountain air, maybe north of the Grand Canyon ❤🐾❤️🐾
It's been triple digits here for most of the summer. I'm ready for Fall, which will bring a little color and cooler temperatures. I like your camp oven setup.

Hello from Hillsdale Michigan.. enjoy life in Michigan
Hiya! Tornado touch downs in Lake Erie a week ago. I’ve been displaced, happy you went to Lake Michigan first🎉. Thank you for sharing. Safe travels.
Love this place,,,too bad there was no sun. Safe travels you two. See ya next Sunday 😊
We just bought the same camp oven! It is such a game changer. I'm glad you're back on the road. Stay safe
Hope conditions improve! Thanks for the video!
Some parks have pavilions with electricity. When i was in my car i used a long extension cord plugged in at pavilion ran to car to charge things
Sending some love and good mojo❤you made a good decision on the hotel.

Hearts to you and joey. Take care. You are awesome!!
So many small little American cities look like ghost towns. Online shopping has changed the face of everything.
Manistee and Huron National Forests in lower MI is good for boondocking. In the U.P. there is Hiawatha National Forest. Check Google maps because there’s also state forests. Any state recreation areas require a state permit. I’m from MI and have boondocked all over the state.

That's his name!!! He's so cool!!! Call those places you look up makes sure they accept dogs 😁❤️ just saying 😂🎉 Take Care!!
Hello Baby Girl and Joey…stay cool, Love…travel safe ❤
Yep, it's the heat. Go sit in a tub of cool water for a while. Or find someplace with a/c to do your editing. I don't tolerate very hot temperatures. I just have to be good to myself. You're a very determined person. Take care. Your videos can be whatever length you choose. OK? 😅
Glad you got some relief
I had to stop your video and look the book up. I downloaded the first 2 books. I’m on page 10 and it’s already so good. Thanks for the recommendation
Omg, they're amazing!!!
Wow
You should buy a generator (gas) to use when your alone . So you have power. A smaller one.
Sounds like you need to upgrade your power bank. Come on sponsors, hook this girl up!!!
I'm thinking of getting one of those ovens
Looks handy
You need more than one battery. That will make a big difference. I like your little camping place. I would like to send you a care package, do you have a P.O. Box? It won’t be anything large because you don’t have room.❤❤❤
Really cute spot! Are you still enjoying your inflatable paddle board? I’ve been thinking of getting one.
💜💜💜
Love your hammock! Where did you get it?
@myrediperez-morales5462 it's the Eno brand hammock. 🩷
It’s like an adult swing! So relaxing…
Great adventures
Airbnbs are sometimes cheaper than hotels and are so much nicer with tons of additional amenities like washers and dryers, etc. Summers are definitely difficult in nomadic life that's why I've looked up chasing 70's routes as I begin my nomad life in a few days to avoid the heat. Enjoy the upper peninsula, and 🤞 you find free camping and cooler weather.
I personally have NEVER found an airbnb for less than $80 after all the additional fees! Seriously?! A quaint motel room is a great option. 😊
Airbnb fees are ridiculous
I wonder if any of the EV stations have electric outlets ....worth checking that out ......how frustrating 💚💚💚
You should get a Bluetti, charges in an hour from an outlet
How bizarre.
I just watched one of agat dad's videos for the first time the other day.
I live in Michigan, not really a rockhound.
My Jackery 500 always blows the fuse too when I try to charge it from my van . (I have a Toyota Sienna) . Very frustrating.
I love camping but with this weather it would be gross. Good call on the motel. Enjoy the ac and watch tv from the bed with Joey. ❤
Omg that’s him agate dad I love his RUclips channel
I've seen some parks that have electrical . In Nebraska I watch this guy and it's not that much like 15.00 for power. I'm not from there but maybe you can find more of those to help .
the heat in those states and the east have been rough..100s in the great plains..
