Well, most of their earlier material was actually from the Vocaloid scene, like for example Senbonzakura, arguably their biggest hit so far. For what it's worth, the original Senbonzakura is a bit poppier and less dense, in terms of instruments, but it had an absolutely massive streak of popularity, staying something like 50+ weeks in the Top 30 weekly ranking of the most popular Vocaloid songs on Nico Nico Douga (basically the Japanese RUclips). The indie scene in general in Japan seems developed and strangely quit accessible from the West and filled with pretty fantastic artists, in quite a lot of varied genres too.
The guitarist Machiya also has another project he fronts and plays guitar for, M:a.ture. I love their song Roar - it is a hybrid mix of indie rock, jazzy piano, and strings that gives it a unique sound. ruclips.net/video/0uGEZWBkbKk/видео.html
Yes synching with your band members is extremly impressive (I cant pull it off either), but what solidified their greatness as artists (to me), was seeing them tackle another genre of music: Synchronicity: ruclips.net/video/pLsAHrhCVEY/видео.html
the50-person I dont play any intruments but I can appreciate music as a listener. I like reaction videos like this that give me some insight into the technical side of things.
Total respect for the fact that, despite not exactly being your thing you still give them praise for their talents and professionalism. I already had a feeling Wagakki Band was not going to completely blow you away. ;) There is one video I would still recommend, it showcases the individual talents of a couple of the individual members, it's an instrumental, no singing this time, it's live. What grabs me especially in this one is the guitarplaying and some pretty rad shamisen playing.... Beni is a goddess on that thing. The song title was left out by the poster of the video, pobably to prevent it from being deleted? Wagakki Band - Homura ruclips.net/video/o1MU1os6psQ/видео.html Watch it at your leasure or do a reaction (I am curious as to what you think though).
10Q (thank you) for the content !
My favorite and first Waggaki Band song. The band is tight live, and the music is so intricate in composition and amazing.
+Ryan McAllister such talent within this group.
