I figured out that if I just pour water into a pan and use the little metal frame from my smartpot to hold a plate or bowl above the water level and put a lid on top I can heat anything on the stove! I don't have a double broiler lol so I got creative.
Thank you for this post! I stopped owning a microwave and almost purchased a new one until I saw this post! I am going for a good double boiler! Great advice! Thankyou!
❤Great idea! To add to your healthy way of cooking I would recommend to store in glass containers since plastics is unsafe. You could also leave your glass dish in the top pot so you don’t lose any of its juices. Another tip… pans that are aluminum are not healthy to cook in because aluminum leaks in your food, use stainless steel pans or the ceramic coating. A question though, how to you reheat your coffee quick?
Love this! Thanks! I moved into my apartment two months ago and haven't gotten around to buying a microwave yet. I wanted to avoid it because I don't like microwaved food but wasn't too sure what the alternative was so thank you for this!
Only flaw i see is you are using plastic containers still!! Chili can reheat on stove either way and if its dry add a little water or something to add moisture maybe butter ;)
Biggest skillet_add 1/2 inch water_add each different food in different piles all around skillet, for example flatten pile mashed potatoes, you can put lid if u want and heat up water first
This Is So Magical Because I'm Literally Eating Lime Beans, Collard Greens And Quinoa As A Soup While Watching Your Video. Thanks For Sharing Another Alternative Way Of Reheating Our Food! Now I Just have To Go Get A Double-Boiler! 🤜🏾🤛🏾
A good double-boiler, with both a solid and perforated 'steam' upper, is a versatile tool. I retired almost three years ago, after decades of micro-waved leftovers for lunch. Haven't touched the home unit since! Just re-heated some baked lasagna, (In the solid bottom,) delicious!
I would learn to eat food at room temp or even cold. It may sound weird, but thats how all the animals do it. But also, if food is more for enjoyment than it is for nutrition, then its already a losing battle. Break time comes - refuel - back to work. Thats how it is in my mind. Maybe using a microwave at work is the only thing you can do that brings you comfort, but at least just using it at work and not at home is a step in the right direction! peace and love! thanks for the watch!
Love this! Thank you. Any recommendations on how to reheat food properly on the go? I’m a delivery driver and need to figure out the safest/healthiest way to reheat my food in my car. Thank you!
Actually these have been around for hundreds of years! Its been used in science for ages! even if all you have is a frying pan, get a lid that fits, add some water in it turn it on low, the water will steam up, making everything moist and warm again!
@@mastapeace593 That's true. What I do to warm up leftover food is put the food in a Pyrex glass container without its lid; put the glass with the food in three quart stainless steel pan with about an inch of water and cover the pan with a lid. Heat stays on medium then low and I don't have to stir the food or stand there. No burnt pans this way. If I heat up rice or pasta and vegetables on the side, I do it in a cast iron pan with a lid and use some olive oil to keep the food moist and the pan from sticking and stir it occasionally. It's been working great. I threw out my microwave several months ago since it started smoking from a whole on the bottom. No more microwaves for me. PS: I do have a couple of double boilers> Just haven't found them yet because I moved.
solution is stop being lazy and use traditional heat lol or denature your food and self. faster if you pour it back into a pan than waiting for water to heat. and i wouldnt eat much of anything raw. its not worth the risk of parasites and germs. i let probiotic foods make up for the cooked stuff.
This must be a new generation. thing, because this is how we 40+er's heated our food before microwaves I'm mean they're out but the were too expensive and we made a way without them until they started coming down ...
hahaha yea tell me about it. its coming full circle. i believe the microwave tech was invented in war-times, then sold it to us as a means of dumbing us down. now we are raising vibrations and sayin wait a minute! i can do this with steam my G! haha peace and respect!
Okay I need help I hate microwave butttttt : sometime I am not home and my preteen wants to heat up food and I don’t want her on the stove . What’s an alternative?
I don't think there IS one, I would just say to teach her all the safety rules to stoves , and let her show you 10 times on 10 different nights that she is able to use it without making a mistake. And that's your best bet. She will rise to the occasion! Like we all did when we had to! Hey, I even leave some burners on sometimes as an adult! :) hope this helps. This is by far the best way to heat your food!
Hey master piece what if they are really building these replicas of Noah's ark boats in high places cause they no another Mud flood is near you and bro are on to something

Steaming is the best way of cooking and reheating. Steam is like a pure spirit. It makes everything pure that comes in contact
glad you agree! much love!

You know exactly what I'm saying! Experience is priceless!
I just moved into my new apartment and I haven't bought one yet. So this tutorial might have me change my mind on getting one in the first place lol
Great idea, thumbs up MP!
How would this setup work at a job where you don’t have pots and pans to warm up nor appliances?
I would learn to eat food at room temp or even cold. It may sound weird, but thats how all the animals do it. But also, if food is more for enjoyment than it is for nutrition, then its already a losing battle. Break time comes - refuel - back to work. Thats how it is in my mind.

Thank you for this video! Great idea 💡
That's how they did it in the 1960's but I don't remember them using a double boiler, just a frying pan, I think.

how does the chilli sauce not fall all through the holes? am i missing something? is it because the steam is pushing up through the holes?
very good and healthy option but takes too much time
Very insightful!
Thank you! ❤

Dr Blair has something that you can attach to your microwave for safety
