I think it’s great how you mentioned that people should definitely be leaving feedback on their post crew surveys and I just wanted to add that princess is currently building the sistership which I think is called the star princess and any feedback at this time may be taken into account as they build the new ship so it’s even more important to fill out those surveys and videos like yours will help as well.
I sailed on it in 2001 the one that had a cabin catch on fire from a smoker throwing a cigarette out from the balcony and landed in some else's balcony and caught fire for 2 o3 cabins??
In principle the way to do. But what if the cruise line kicks you out of the survey? Happened to us! Asking a Star rating to start with, and when you don't give high enough amount of stars they kick you out by saying "seems you were not cruising on that ship!" W h a t ????

I went on my first Princess cruise in June of 1988 ,they still had ice sculptures ect. And yes I still miss those type of things. I don’t remember the name of the ship from my last cruise but the room were very nice service was great and we had a great time we took my 89 year old grandmother the ship was a little large for grandma and I both have a lung and heart problem (thank you Covid shot) because of my health problems I can’t afford to go on another cruise 😢 I would love to go on another cruise maybe if I get better but for now ,I’ll just dream. Just got of Her Beautiful Sun. Enjoyed the Mediterranean. We all have different view points. All was luxury. All Specialty dining was great. Love the color scheme, very warming. My Suite was lovely.
As soon as I finished the video, I went to Princess’ website and was checking out the sailings for this ship. I told my husband we need to go on it because it looks amazing! We’re definitely going to book a Caribbean sailing in the future. Thank you for this review; it provided so much great information!

I love the color scheme which is what attracted me to wanting to cruise on Sun Princess. I am not into tacky colors like other ships have so I love this.

Ilana, saying that some casual dining restaurants are included in the Plus package is not accurate (unless the company changes their policy). You merely receive TWO vouchers (per person, per cruise) for the fixed price menus. The casual dining fixed price options are included in the Premier package. Everything else is offered "a la carte" for additional $$.
I did include a little note on the screen mentioning that people should check the details of packages. I can’t go into detail about the packages in this video, but appreciate your comment

Great job on your review of The Sun!! We were on the first sailing and loved the ship as well as the ports. Our room had the extended balcony which was AWESOME and I would encourage anyone to pay extra for this layout. A must at The American Diner is the banana split with gelato. All the food on the 'constant' menu was very good.
Fantastic review and looks like an absolutely gorgeous ship with plenty to do for my teens and I. Normally, I only cruise with RCCL but am headed directly to Princess to check the itineraries for a Sun Princess cruise next! Always love watching your videos each week. Keep up the great work!
We were on the original Sun Princess in 2003, and I must say, the new one is nothing like it but seems spectacular... the Princess Sphere Class seems to be built on the platform or "bones"" of the Carnival Excel Class, but looks completely different. We just booked an mini suite for a November (for my birthday) sailing and I'm sure we will be spending a lot of time on the ship and not that much at the ports, excepting beach ports.. the ship seems to be the star... This looks to be my favorite class ship alongside Celebrity Edge class... the new Hot Pot, Teppanyaki and Butcher Block sounds terrific and the "Eatery" seems to be an upgrade from your typical buffet.. and the cabins looks wonderful!! Definitely looks like a candidate for a second sailing.

Hopefully there will not be delays like the Sun Princess but the ships are identical and this video really gave me insight. Our last decision is balcony or Mini-suite.

Last December at 85, I took all my adult children and spouses on a cruise to Caribbean. First cruise for most of them and they loved it and plan to go again.
My friend was a principal dancer in Dirty Dancing. He’s going to get a kick out of it playing on a cruise! ❤. We sail April 2025 on Caribbean Princess through the Panama Canal. 385 days to go!
Oh my goodness what a beautiful ship. I am looking at her from my kitchen window in Southampton UK and wishing I was on her. Love the video and will plan my next trip and try to sail on this ship. I took my first MSC trip last year using many of your tips and recommendations, this year is another MSC trip on Virtuosa which is a much bigger ship. I chose this trip as it sails from Southampton to the med and then back, as I live near the port it seemed a great idea. The flight home from Rio last year was 10 hours and exhausting. I have come late to the world of cruising but am loving it. Thanks for the inspiring videos. I will keep watching.
Hello Llana, Thanks for your review of Princess cruise line and there newest ship. My wife and I were considering our first cruise with them for a Mediterranean Europe cruise in October 2025. We also have a reservation currently for a very similar voyage on Celebrity Ascent as well. We have decided to go with Celebrity as we think the whole package is better overall. Also Celebrity is round trip out of Rome Italy and the cruise for 11 nights starts on a Monday and ends on a Friday which works out well especially traveling overseas. Also we just think Celebrity even though more expensive we are getting more. When I look at Sun princess mini suites and there bathrooms only have one sink is overall seems small for a suite just doesn't feel right. There reserved mini suit experience I don't believe is as good as say a sky suite experience on Celebrity and the retreat. Thank you for your presentation.

I think they mention that the ship is of an evolutionary design. In this respect the ship does not have a fantail. The sides are generally parallel to the sides of the hull in the aft area.
Thank you for the review of Sun Princess, I really enjoyed your review and I am very favorably impressed with this ship. If I were to go outside of the Royal Caribbean Group, other than QM2, this ship would be at the top of my choices. I have loyalty status with Carnival, however, as of 2023, the Carnival Group does not give cross brand loyalty recognition and the options within the RCG provide more than enough variety to keep me cruising without redundancy.
Great video ! Learned a lot ! We prefer the Royal class of ships love the dark wood and brass and classy look ! We stay in the forward suites on the Lido deck and love the area, quiet and close to most things ! But your video was excellent and we learned a lot ! Boy there are sure enough places to eat and drink ! We are not big eaters. So we usually go to the buffet for lunch and regular dining room for dinner but it’s nice for people to have such a variety of dining experiences 😍! Many thanks again for your informative video 😍

I find it absolutely amazing that NOT ONE Cruise blogger so far has noted the Cove Balcony staterooms on the Sun Princess. There are a hundred of them, and they are unique to the Sun Princess - no other ship in the Princess fleet has them.
That’s an interesting point. I’m sure people will in the near future, but keep in mind the ship is actually only on its 3rd sailing & the ship was likely sold out for all. You can’t visit staterooms when guests are present
I'm sure once things are fully functional it will all come together nicely. At least it sounds like it. It is different to have to go through areas or you have to go up cross over than back down or vice versa. I had heard about the food "specialty" areas and being open for crossing through from the pools area. Thanks Illana

It looks beautiful! We sailed in 2000 on the Grand and 2018 on the Star, so ship layout was the same. Sun will be a big learning curve for us. Sadly we will not be going to any specialty restaurants because I know our flights will cost more than the cruise and we can’t pay to upgrade from our base package. No biggie, our biggest reason to cruise is to see some of Europe. We don’t drink either so package upgrade doesn’t make sense for us. We are excited to try French and Italian foods on our port days. Thank you for this review because it really does help me to get an idea of what to expect. Happy sailings! 🎉❤
Thanks for reporting. For this year we are not doing any cruises. My cousin just got back from a cruise and got Covid. Then last year a group of my family also got Covid as did my husband and I a month later. Symptoms started at the end of the cruise. I don’t know of course how we caught but those packed crowded airport and cruise boarding lines may be the problem.
Looks lovely and so glad you had a great cruise. Disappointing to hear there are only 4 solo cabins. Between this and the huge price increase for Internet, Princess has fallen from grace for me. Still sailing with them in January, but they've lost any kind of loyalty I may have felt. Did you buy any of those pretty dresses in Crete?

Howdy Ilana, Am subscribed and hit the like button. Not a big drinker and don't go into the pool much. Included, nothing is free. It is either included or a fee goes along with it. Love the Crown Grill. Chianti is a very good red wine from certain areas in Tuscany. I like this elevator system. Our first experience with it was on the Carnival Vista. Ah, pizza in Sorrento. Eating times may have to be adjusted if you go on a longer shore excursion.
How was your experience with having no self-serve beverage stations in the buffet? I was reading other reviews and it seems like the only way to order basic drinks is through the wait staff during dining hours. But during off times like late night, where would you go to refill a water bottle? Some people had the premier pkg to order cases of water but how about those that don't? Thank you in advance🙏
Love the video of the new ship. It certainly is different. It will be interesting to see how the three level dining experiment goes. When you say you were on a press trip/media sailing does that mean you had a Premium Package or Reserve or Signature upgrades?
My wife and I (and 2 adult children) were on board for the 10 day that you joined at Athens. We've been on 3 other Princess cruises prior to this (Panama, Hawaii & Pacific NW) and found them all to be pretty much on the plus side even one the one after Covid. We felt mostly the same on this one although our disappointment with the shows not ready yet and the delay on Spellbound was a bit more hard on expectations. BY THE WAY ... my wife wants to know if there's a prize for us being shown on 3 of your video cuts in your review? 😅

@@blissfuljoy6049 Overall, Excellent. However, the top deck with Park 19 was not open yet. They were not making full use of the Arena or the Dome. The seats in the Arena are small, too. But there are a lot of things to like about it. I love the elevators! Instead of pushing "up" or "down", you tell it which floor you want to go to and it tells you which elevator to get on. There are multiple places to get coffee instead of just the International Cafe. The rooms were comfortable and I dearly loved the shower set up! I think in a year, it will be a much different and better ship once they get all of the bugs worked out.
This video went by in a flash it was so good and so full of great info ! I have 3 questions: You mentioned there aren't any adults only pools. Does that mean the Serenity Pool and deck area one pays for is open to children / ages below 18 ? You also mentioned that suite guests also get free access to the Serentiy Pool and deck area for free. On the Royal Class we were just on, we had a Penthouse Suite and the cabanas as well as the private access relaxation area were not open to suite guests unless we paid for use. Last, am I to understand the Sun doesn't have a dinner buffet ? Thanks kindly for all your help and always such great informative videos ! CHEERS !
I may need to check this, but my understanding is that the Sanctuary pool area is for suite guests & those who purchase a pass. I’m not sure if it’s adult only, but I was talking about the included pools. I’m not on the ship now so unfortunately can’t say much more

Thanks! I think you could do a capsule wardrobe with a pair of jeans, a couple tops, 2 light sweaters, dresses for day to evening. Check the weather forecast and have a little jean jacket or sweater in case. Enjoy!
Love the new modern feel of the Sun Princess... after our Emerald Princess cruise back in February, this ship is lovely, bright, airy, clean and modern...and new! The Emerald... was fine...but tired, dark, and a bit shabby in places... How was finding a lounger in the SHADE on this cruise?
I can't do Princess anymore. Ruby princess I caught massive cold and respiratory infection. Now Sky Princess repositioning and you guessed it, same thing. Ruined my European vacation. Too many old people not caring for others. Giving up cruising.

I've never heard of a hot pot eatery, much less tried one. Is it more of an activity to play around with or is it really tasty? Both? It sounds like you need at lest 7 if not 14 days on board to truly appreciate it all. What does an Apperol spritz taste like? It's obviously orange, but is it sweet or bitter? Thanks! ❤
So glad you enjoyed the video! An Aperol Spritz is Aperol, citrus flavor with a touch of bitterness a bit like orange rind, with Prosecco. Depending on the Prosecco it’s sometimes a bit sweeter, but I don’t find it very sweet

Yeah, the design changes are kinda startling ... looks more like an NCL ship than the traditional Princess look. 🤔 Not sayin' that's bad ... just different. Do love all the windows and views of the ocean, however. 👍

It seems like no oneis reporting on the Cove balcony cabins, which I have booked. I would have liked to see live images and/or videos. Are they awful - is that why there is no reporting on them?
Great review as always!! It’s a pass for me. Too big, likely too many kids and the whole princess experience has been oversold. Three princess cruises last year and likely never again.They just don’t deliver on what’s promised.

Oh my goodness what a beautiful ship. I am looking at her from my kitchen window in Southampton UK and wishing I was on her. Love the video and will plan my next trip and try to sail on this ship. I took my first MSC trip last year using many of your tips and recommendations, this year is another MSC trip on Virtuosa which is a much bigger ship. I chose this trip as it sails from Southampton to the med and then back, as I live near the port it seemed a great idea. The flight home from Rio last year was 10 hours and exhausting. I have come late to the world of cruising but am loving it. Thanks for the inspiring videos. I will keep watching.

Thanks for your review of Princess cruise line and there newest ship.
My wife and I were considering our first cruise with them for a Mediterranean Europe cruise in October 2025. We also have a reservation currently for a very similar voyage on Celebrity Ascent as well.
We have decided to go with Celebrity as we think the whole package is better overall.
Also Celebrity is round trip out of Rome Italy and the cruise for 11 nights starts on a Monday and ends on a Friday which works out well especially traveling overseas.
Also we just think Celebrity even though more expensive we are getting more.
When I look at Sun princess mini suites and there bathrooms only have one sink is overall seems small for a suite just doesn't feel right.
There reserved mini suit experience I don't believe is as good as say a sky suite experience on Celebrity and the retreat.

I think they mention that the ship is of an evolutionary design. In this respect the ship does not have a fantail. The sides are generally parallel to the sides of the hull in the aft area.

Thank you for the review of Sun Princess, I really enjoyed your review and I am very favorably impressed with this ship. If I were to go outside of the Royal Caribbean Group, other than QM2, this ship would be at the top of my choices. I have loyalty status with Carnival, however, as of 2023, the Carnival Group does not give cross brand loyalty recognition and the options within the RCG provide more than enough variety to keep me cruising without redundancy.

Great video ! Learned a lot ! We prefer the Royal class of ships love the dark wood and brass and classy look ! We stay in the forward suites on the Lido deck and love the area, quiet and close to most things ! But your video was excellent and we learned a lot ! Boy there are sure enough places to eat and drink ! We are not big eaters. So we usually go to the buffet for lunch and regular dining room for dinner but it’s nice for people to have such a variety of dining experiences 😍! Many thanks again for your informative video 😍
Looking forward to my trip. Only wish they had (or I could hook up) Netflix on that TV. Watching my favorite Korean shows and seeing the ocean off to the side while lounging in that comfortable bed would be heaven. 😂

we were scheduled to take the March 9 cruise but princess suggested we might want to take a later one. After hearing your comments and those of Other cruisers on Sun Princess, I’m looking forward to sailing on the July 20 cruise.

I find it absolutely amazing that NOT ONE Cruise blogger so far has noted the Cove Balcony staterooms on the Sun Princess. There are a hundred of them, and they are unique to the Sun Princess - no other ship in the Princess fleet has them.
That’s an interesting point. I’m sure people will in the near future, but keep in mind the ship is actually only on its 3rd sailing & the ship was likely sold out for all. You can’t visit staterooms when guests are present
I'm sure once things are fully functional it will all come together nicely. At least it sounds like it. It is different to have to go through areas or you have to go up cross over than back down or vice versa. I had heard about the food "specialty" areas and being open for crossing through from the pools area. Thanks Illana

It looks beautiful! We sailed in 2000 on the Grand and 2018 on the Star, so ship layout was the same. Sun will be a big learning curve for us. Sadly we will not be going to any specialty restaurants because I know our flights will cost more than the cruise and we can’t pay to upgrade from our base package. No biggie, our biggest reason to cruise is to see some of Europe. We don’t drink either so package upgrade doesn’t make sense for us. We are excited to try French and Italian foods on our port days. Thank you for this review because it really does help me to get an idea of what to expect. Happy sailings! 🎉❤

Thanks for reporting. For this year we are not doing any cruises. My cousin just got back from a cruise and got Covid. Then last year a group of my family also got Covid as did my husband and I a month later. Symptoms started at the end of the cruise.
I don’t know of course how we caught but those packed crowded airport and cruise boarding lines may be the problem.

Looks lovely and so glad you had a great cruise. Disappointing to hear there are only 4 solo cabins. Between this and the huge price increase for Internet, Princess has fallen from grace for me. Still sailing with them in January, but they've lost any kind of loyalty I may have felt. Did you buy any of those pretty dresses in Crete?

Howdy Ilana, Am subscribed and hit the like button. Not a big drinker and don't go into the pool much. Included, nothing is free. It is either included or a fee goes along with it. Love the Crown Grill. Chianti is a very good red wine from certain areas in Tuscany. I like this elevator system. Our first experience with it was on the Carnival Vista. Ah, pizza in Sorrento. Eating times may have to be adjusted if you go on a longer shore excursion.

How was your experience with having no self-serve beverage stations in the buffet? I was reading other reviews and it seems like the only way to order basic drinks is through the wait staff during dining hours. But during off times like late night, where would you go to refill a water bottle? Some people had the premier pkg to order cases of water but how about those that don't? Thank you in advance🙏

My wife and I (and 2 adult children) were on board for the 10 day that you joined at Athens. We've been on 3 other Princess cruises prior to this (Panama, Hawaii & Pacific NW) and found them all to be pretty much on the plus side even one the one after Covid. We felt mostly the same on this one although our disappointment with the shows not ready yet and the delay on Spellbound was a bit more hard on expectations. BY THE WAY ... my wife wants to know if there's a prize for us being shown on 3 of your video cuts in your review? 😅

@@blissfuljoy6049 Overall, Excellent. However, the top deck with Park 19 was not open yet. They were not making full use of the Arena or the Dome. The seats in the Arena are small, too. But there are a lot of things to like about it. I love the elevators! Instead of pushing "up" or "down", you tell it which floor you want to go to and it tells you which elevator to get on. There are multiple places to get coffee instead of just the International Cafe. The rooms were comfortable and I dearly loved the shower set up! I think in a year, it will be a much different and better ship once they get all of the bugs worked out.

This video went by in a flash it was so good and so full of great info ! I have 3 questions: You mentioned there aren't any adults only pools. Does that mean the Serenity Pool and deck area one pays for is open to children / ages below 18 ? You also mentioned that suite guests also get free access to the Serentiy Pool and deck area for free. On the Royal Class we were just on, we had a Penthouse Suite and the cabanas as well as the private access relaxation area were not open to suite guests unless we paid for use. Last, am I to understand the Sun doesn't have a dinner buffet ? Thanks kindly for all your help and always such great informative videos ! CHEERS !
I may need to check this, but my understanding is that the Sanctuary pool area is for suite guests & those who purchase a pass. I’m not sure if it’s adult only, but I was talking about the included pools. I’m not on the ship now so unfortunately can’t say much more

Thanks! I think you could do a capsule wardrobe with a pair of jeans, a couple tops, 2 light sweaters, dresses for day to evening. Check the weather forecast and have a little jean jacket or sweater in case. Enjoy!

Love the new modern feel of the Sun Princess... after our Emerald Princess cruise back in February, this ship is lovely, bright, airy, clean and modern...and new! The Emerald... was fine...but tired, dark, and a bit shabby in places... How was finding a lounger in the SHADE on this cruise?

So glad you enjoyed the video! An Aperol Spritz is Aperol, citrus flavor with a touch of bitterness a bit like orange rind, with Prosecco. Depending on the Prosecco it’s sometimes a bit sweeter, but I don’t find it very sweet

Thank you for constantly sharing your videos. I am just concern how does a cruise ship change the bed linen for the entire ship from the time it arrive to the time it departs the port.
They are amazing! Keep in mind that all gets washed, but they likely have new linens ready for the next guests

Great review as always!! It’s a pass for me. Too big, likely too many kids and the whole princess experience has been oversold. Three princess cruises last year and likely never again.They just don’t deliver on what’s promised.
