A friend of mine is one of the production singers on the Sun Princess, and I know that they were working really hard to get the shows up as quickly as possible while making safety a priority. The theatres are always one of the last spaces to be completed on new ship constructions. And there is typically vital production equipment (usually still sitting in customs) that hasn’t made it to the ship in time for the first cruise. Then it takes forever to get that equipment to catch up with the ship in a future port.
Hi Ben and David - I cannot believe it I’ve had my medication already and your notification bell flashed up so I can watch your Vlog/video video straight away - I’m just saying hello now in case I don’t get a chance later if one of the carers or nurses comes in - as you know I love my Sunday nights because you can always make me smile and feel better - I hope you had a good week - I’m not too bad just my multiple Sclerosis has flared up so I’m seeing the doctor tomorrow - I’m going to start watching your Vlog/video. Have a good week. Thanks once again for all your hard work and putting the Vlog/video up - sending loads of love and loads of hugs to you both. ~ Xxx Xxx
Hello Louise. I watch Ben and David too they are such good fun and I always find myself laughing. I hope your health is improving take care. Lots of good wishes to you x Jo
Louise, I understand why you enjoy watching cruise blogs like this in spite of your medical issues. I have them too, but i love Ben and David! Please take care and have a good day.
Hahaha. I had to laugh about u dropping ur medallion through the hole on the lift (elevator in America). When I was 16 me, my cousin and my best friend went to Myrtle Beach in SC to a nursing conference with my mom. She was at the conference and we were going to go out to eat. When we got on the elevator I dropped the keys (the only keys) down that hole. We freaked out. Didn't know what we were going to do. That's when we found out that they could stop the elevator on a higher floor and go through the basement to get the keys. We didn't tell my mom about it for years....lol.
My mom and I took a Christmas Princess cruise (I think it was the Sapphire Princess). It was the most wonderful cruise I've ever been on. Everything was perfect, zero complaints. It's gave me and my mom a chance to spend quality time together without the usual Christmas hassles. The entire ship was fully and lovingly decorated. Just remembering this cruise brings tear of joy to my eyes.
I find the lack of veggie options really frustrating- I recently sailed with NCL and quite often there would be no veggie options on their entire dinner menu. They said they could make adjustments to the meat options but most of the time all they could do was give me a plate of veggies with some fruit for pudding. It was very disappointing especially as we were in the haven. My mum pointed out that lots of meat eaters like to eat veggie every now and again too, so it makes no sense not to provide a veggie choice!!
It must be even worse for vegans. My first vegan meal was at a place called On The Eighth Day on Oxford road, Manchester, uk. Back in the 1970s. It consisted of spring (bitter, dark green) cabbage with a neat soy sauce dressing. That put me off vegan ever since ;)
On Princess and I presume others, you can order plates of steamed veges as side dishes and salads, in the dining room. The ships are very obliging. I don't know about NCL.
Really enjoyed this one - it looks like Princess have done really well with the venues on this ship - it looks so refreshingly different to the rest of their fleet. It's a shame that they've launched the ship without all of the entertainment being 'good to go', but I'll be excited to see what comes in due course!
I visited Cartagena (Cart - A - Hen - Yah) in 2016 on a transatlantic cruise. I went to the Roman Amphitheatre, which was only discovered in the 1980s. It was spectacular! Do go there next time you are in Cartagena.
Have you ever taken a Viking Cruise? It’s all inclusive and the food is amazing. There are enrichment lectures and great entertainment like a jazz combo and a guitarist. Room service is also excellent. No children on board. No nickle and dimeing you. The only thing I paid for was massages and those were $50 an hour.
@birbluv9595 yes, I bumped into Ben and David just as cruising was restarting after the pandemic and they were saying they had just been on Viking, and MSC Virtuosa before that. There is a vlog somewhere...2021 maybe?
I loved Cartagena, (Cart-a- hay-na). I thought it was beautiful. I sat and enjoyed a cigar while just soaking it all in. I was solo, I got lost, (I have a a cognitive impairment that sometimes causes forgetfulness and disorientation), and accidentally came across an ancient coliseum. But I was prepared with a map downloaded to my phone, and it got me back.
Interesting upload as always. Would be helpful if us have rated the food in two categories, first, the food included then the food that’s an upcharge, form your score, I guess the upchage food dragged up the included food score..
Since I was little watching "The Love Boat," I have dreamt of going on a cruise. I still have yet to make this bucket list happen...but you have convinced me that my first cruise should be on the Sun Princess. Thank you for the details! Looks like the two of you had such a fun & great time!!
We travel Princess a lot as our preferred line, and they play The Love Boat series on the telly on all the ships we've been on. It's quite nostalgic. We actually sailed on the original love boat for its final cruise out of Australia. It was a small ship, 500 guests, and no children. The balcony was large with the depth for chaise lounges. Whereas these days you're lucky to get a couple of small seats with little leg room. The rest of the ship was a delight, not exactly like the show, but enough to feel sad that it was being sold off. The ships are getting too big for us.
I watched Love Boat as a kid as well. I’ve been on one cruise. It was a Caribbean cruise on Norwegian about 25 years ago. It’s not all that great honestly. The food was great, but that got old. There is a lot to do if you like getting drunk, eating too much, cheesey live shows, gambling, crowded swimming pools and shopping. I’m not a fan of any of that. Every single stop I wanted to stay off the ship as much as possible and dreaded going back on. Guess it depends on what you like to do on vacations. I do enjoy watching other people take cruises though. Go figure! 😂
You guys crack me up! Such wonderful senses of humor! 😂 I found your channel a few months ago leading up to our cruise on NCL Prima. Our cruise was month’s ago, but as soon as I see you post a video I watch it! Thank you!

Hi Ben and David... Oh my gosh Ben, going to try David's sausage!! 😄. Then to open your breakfast pastry, lol. Beautiful port! I think it's a shame they launch a new ship and it's not completely finished yet. Princess isn't the only one who does that but it seems like a lot of things weren't ready. Always appreciate your honest thoughts and reviews. As always thank you for all you do and the hard work to put these videos together. ❤❤

I don't usually comment, but I just wanted to comment that in the last month or so I found your channel and have seen literally binge watched every video. Love the content! Btw, are you planning a second channel, maybe a daily vlog? 👀
Hi Ben & David Just for your information Disney Cruise Line only do the slimed down breakfast menu in the restaurant on the last morning. However if you get up earlier ( 6-7am), you can go up stairs to Cabanas / Marceline Market, where a full menu is available. It’s mainly done for those that are going to disembark first at the rope drop. Like us at Barcelona on 18th May. Running for the airport to get back to the UK, post Eastbound Trans Atlantic on the Disney Dream.
This review cracked me up, you both are hilarious. Love to watch/hear your comments while eating. It was a pleasure meeting you at the arena theater. Linda
You two love your Yorkshire tea and you travel regularly, so why don’t you take tea bags with you? That’s a type of tea you should know that you won’t get abroad. I totally agree it’s the only tea to drink.I even take mine if I’m going somewhere in the UK.
David that’s so funny about your medallion. One morning I was leaving my night shift as a nurse. I pulled my glove out of my pocket and bounce , bounce, bing the fob went down a storm drain.
I liked all the video, you make me happy. I will never go on a cruise but I live seing you having fun. I especially liked the end of the video when you comment and seeing shots of you enjoying a moment of relaxation on the deck and having a meal . It is a nice finish.
Oh, my goodness your story about the medallion I can sympathize. My oldest daughter when she was about 5 looked down into that space between the elevator and the flood and her glasses fell off. She cried and cried but we did get them back. You guys are great I love your stuff.
Hi just wanted to say I too am chronically ill , and enjoy Sunday night have you also seen walk with Tim , does travel and hotels good and bad . He is not as funny was Ben and David but very entertaining and also cheers up my nights . X
Hey Ben and David. Happy Sunday. Always appreciate your reviews. This ship is definitely on our list. Thanks for the scoop on how to get to the sanctuary. Hope you guys having an amazing weekend celebrating David’s birthday 🤗🎉🎈🎊🎁🎂. Have a great week 🤗
Thank you so much for another wonderful video and for all the smiles and laughter while watching.!!! You two are just terrific!! Just wanted to say hello and let you know you truly brightened our day....always from california...
I once dropped a long flat metal piece from a weighing sling when I worked at a hospital. They had stop the elevator to get it out as it landed straight upright!
Great again guys - you crack me up with that 'tour' trying to find the sanctuary when you went around the corner and said 'oh there's the entrance and the guy closed the door!'
Always looking forward to watching u guys. Ben and David u guys convinced me to cruise for the first time last November on the Disney dream from ny. My hubby and I have 2 disney cruises coming up.
It's pronunciation is Cart-eh-hen-yeah 😂 There's a movie that you guys can watch if you have time called Romancing the Stone with Micheal Douglas and Kathleen Turner. It was made in 84...but it's an all time favorite and I would live to see it ❤
Great review as always 🥰 the only thing I don’t like about the ship as a whole, is the lack of color. A lot of the white and beige without some kind of contrast would send my anxiety over the roof. I did love your state room, though that did look calm.
You two are my favorite cruise reviewers. I always find myself laughing at your antics, but more importantly you both treat each other with love and respect. I love that!!! Thank you for all your great videos.
It’s pronounced carta-hey-na! I love this ship review. Was trying to book a cruise on the Sun Princess, but I think I will wait until it’s a little older. I love the Enchanted Princess though
David, you mentioned comparing the pizza served at Alfredo's with the one by the pool deck (by the slice) but it wasn't in the video. So was it the same? Also it's food at the pool deck included in the basic fare or is it an extra charge?
Great review thanks. The one extra thing I would have liked to have known (sorry if I missed it) was how full the ship was. It makes quite a difference to the experience we find, especially on a sea day. We're heading off tomorrow for our latest cruise on Sky Princess and this was a great reminder of what is to come :)
David - don't feel bad about losing your medallion in the elevator. I had the same thing happen to the keys to our rental car in Ireland. Watched with a sickening feeling as they slithered into the crack after I dropped them. Fortunately, a maintenance man from our hotel was kind enough to fish them out for me.
I think they launched the ship to soon. There is so much thats not ready. I'm sorry, but if your paying full price for your cruise. Everything that the shipoffets should ready.
I'm cracking up, Ben...only because I've done the same thing. OMG!! I'm SO full, how can we eat dessert?? (looking at plate) oooOOOooo... CRUST!!! Nom nom. 😂😘
Looks like a fun cruise! I've never cruised Princess before but this one looks like one I'd enjoy. I always thought Princess was for a much older cruiser like Cunard.

He's always tossing them off!
David cracked me up when you said where is O’Malley’s pub, and he answers in Ireland 🤣😂🤣👏
I think a limited dining room breakfast menu is reasonable if quality. There’s plenty of other options onboard if not for ‘you’.
I was thinking the same thing. It would be EXTREMELY wasteful if you had a full menu when a majority of the passengers would be going out on excursions. When you have other options throughout the ship - I'm not sure I understand the concern.
I'm sure the Line has evaluated the dinning demand [or lack thereof] during port days.

Thanks so much!!
Great review as always 🥰 the only thing I don’t like about the ship as a whole, is the lack of color. A lot of the white and beige without some kind of contrast would send my anxiety over the roof. I did love your state room, though that did look calm.
Happy Happy Birthday🎉
LoL at getting lost trying to get to the Sanctuary. I LOL’d! 😅
You two are my favorite cruise reviewers. I always find myself laughing at your antics, but more importantly you both treat each other with love and respect. I love that!!! Thank you for all your great videos.
Happy Birthday, David!
You guys are my new favorite travel RUclipsrs! Just discovered you and thoroughly enjoying your videos. Thanks for your humor and your honesty.
It’s pronounced carta-hey-na! I love this ship review. Was trying to book a cruise on the Sun Princess, but I think I will wait until it’s a little older. I love the Enchanted Princess though
After a long hard day I'm so happy to watch your video. Thank you
Glad to hear that
Great video as usual!
We are on this cruise. Hope to catch up if we see you wandering around. Been following your presentations for months, Steve & Denise
Great show guys, just booked our first ever cruise for next year 🙂🙂🙂Xx
David, you mentioned comparing the pizza served at Alfredo's with the one by the pool deck (by the slice) but it wasn't in the video. So was it the same? Also it's food at the pool deck included in the basic fare or is it an extra charge?
Alfredos is better, pool deck food is all included
Great review thanks. The one extra thing I would have liked to have known (sorry if I missed it) was how full the ship was. It makes quite a difference to the experience we find, especially on a sea day. We're heading off tomorrow for our latest cruise on Sky Princess and this was a great reminder of what is to come :)
Thanks for your great review by the way!! Your vlogs are first rate.
Cartagena is a beautiful place! I had the privilege of visiting last year. Would love to go back.
Happy Birthday 🎂 David and wow that takes talent todrop the medallion so perfectly! Ben how are you eating cheese? 😮
Love.. your Blogs.. I follow Regularly
CRUST!!! Nom nom. 😂😘
Glad you had a good time
Car- te- hen- ya. That's the best way to explain how to pronounce it. Love you guys!!
Thanks for the pronunciation tip! We appreciate the love and support.
It’s na, not ña so it’s pronounced kar-ta-hen-na.
I could listen to you both talk all day long! Those accents are so awesome. Where are they from? Great review!
Looks like a fun cruise! I've never cruised Princess before but this one looks like one I'd enjoy. I always thought Princess was for a much older cruiser like Cunard.
