Enjoy you videos, pretty sure I have seen most of them. Always pick up a tip. Toyota sure took a big step backward from the Gen 4 oil filter system, I really miss that top side filter every time my 70 year old bones crawl under and drop the skid plate to get at that filter. Keep up the good work!

Great video. Esp showing everything. Will buy the new skid plate so screws don’t get stripped etc..Unfortunately I still have dealer do oil change so its
documented for warranty or if selling vehicle.

The oil filter should be changed with every oil change.

Great video! Thanks for explaining what that clip on the side of the oil filter was for. Did not know filter had to be tighten till that clip clicks. 👍

You might want to do your own research on that clip. Other videos on RUclips mention that clip is to prevent the filter housing from loosening on its own. They show how they move the clip into place after reinstalling it. Not sure who is right or wrong but you should find out for yourself

Does the rci skid plate delete the plastic cover at the very front under the radiator?

Thanks for watching! It’s been a long time since I added the plate, but I think it did delete the lowest plastic cover, at least on the Limited Trim option. RCI staff are friendly and responsive, so they’d probably provide you a quick, definitive answer.
