And John and his family have been making videos from their super-incredible back yard lately, during the pandemic. Shane and Tyler are full-tilt musician/performers on their own, and Kelsey is right there taking her spot! Just got John's DVD of "50 Year Trip: Live at Red Rocks". A long time ago, I heard an interview with John Fogerty. He said that he had to go for a physical because of the army draft (Vietnam war). I can't remember all the details, but it turned out he wasn't accepted into the military and was sent home. He got home and celebrated by getting high...sitting on his porch and imagining all the comical stuff he could think of...just because he was so happy about not being drafted and of course in being high. lol And thus this song was born.

:D That's a "dinosaur Victrola". Victrola was one of the original "record players" - back when at first, sound recordings were on a wax cylinder; then flat, hard forms of vinyl. Big, boxy things with a giant metal horn on top that served as the amplifier.. This was a very old Victrola, hence a "dinosaur". John has also mentioned Elvis in the yard in live shows.

David- CCR was never played on any country station. Back in 70's was called southern rock or southern fried rockBUT NEVER COUNTRY

CCR country? No. Their music was a big part of the rock and roll landscape, and they were classified as southern pop-rock. That said, though, back then, many groups and songs were able to be seen as crossover. This song was among those .
