Honda Lawnmower Mulch Door Stuck - 15 Minute Shutter Arm Replacement

In this video, I show you how to solve a mulch door that will not open or close properly on a Honda HRX lawnmower with the GCV190 engine by replacing the shutter arm that opens and closes the mulch door. The replacement took about 15 minutes and now the mulch door opens and closes like it did when it was new.

I replace that carriage bolt. There is supposed to be a washer that keeps that arm from jumping off but it’s rusted away. I put a new carriage bolt and a fender washer on there to keep the arm from coming off the shutter

Excellent video!! Im about to replace the same bracket… Im also replacing the nut/bolt/spacer that goes through the shroud.. once the new bracket is in place and reassembled, you need to put the nut on the bolt that goes through the new bracket.. it keeps the bolt in place in the bracket…

Where do you buy the new bracket? Great video very informative. Also my lever is broken is there a way to replace that lever? Mine is located in the back of the engine

Uh...., you forgot the washer and nut that secures the arm to the guide pin.

I think mine must have worn off and I will need to replace the guide pin next time it starts to act up. There were no threads on the guide pin above that would allow for the washer and nut.
