Thank you for the video. You didn't mention it but please note the flat on that shaft you reinserted should be parallel to the valve cover. The flat of the notch towards the valve cover as there is an "ear" on the valve cover that acts as both a retainer AND to keeps the shaft from rotating.
BTW. I have developed a saying. "No job is complete until blood has been spilt." You have the same motto I see! ;-)

Most important when pushing that pin down to access the oil seal, DO NoT let that pin go pass the bottom of the cam wheel, you will have a nightmare on your hand. Push the pin down just enough to see and access the oil seal. That oil seal gets brittle and allow oil to seep by after about 6 years of continuous use.

Thanks for posting this. Only video showing the o ring replacement. I resealed the valve cover but the ring is leaking badly. Probably the reason for the leak in the first place.

I replaced the valve cover twice, only to realize that the leak was coming from the camshaft o-ring. Duh. So if you're replacing the valve cover (don't reuse it) for any reason, save yourself some time by replacing the o-ring too.

I ended up replacing the O ring and that did the trick. No leak. While I was messing with all this, I also replaced the stamped valve cover with a Honda cast aluminum piece with a honda gasket. Adjusted the valves while in there also. No more prying that tin pocrap. I figure I should be good to go for 5 years.

if you raise the front of the mower wheels to their highest setting, and the rear to the lowest setting, let it sit for 20 minutes, and you won't have all the oil running out.

I have a question. I have a Honda walk behind mower i shut the fuel switch off and when I tip it up I notice oil coming out around the air filter now. I have done this before anytime I pressure wash the bottom of the deck to inspect and sharpen the blades. It never done this before so I went back changed the air filter back out with a new OEM filter it runs fine. It did smoke a bit when I first started it. How is this happening love the channel thanks for any help you can provide on solving this issue

Is it by chance, over full on oil?

Nope just checked it not over filled. It only does it when I lean it over on its side with the fuel switch shut off it says in the owners manual to tip it over that way if I need to change the blades it didn’t do it the last time I changed the blades but it I just noticed it today clean the grass out from under the deck

@st7650 always turn it over on the exhaust side. It might smoke a bit when you start it but it will clear up

This engine leaks from at least three locations. The one he showed in this video then underneath by the crankshaft and on the side by the governor check all of them for leaks.

Almost a great video except for the pretty big detail of not having the end of that shaft in the correct placement, could be pretty bad if someone misses that. U should add a note to the video at the end there.
