I love Rick Sebak's Pittsburgh series. 🥰
Thanks, Susie! We do, too. :)
Save these historic churches. They can't be replaced once there gone.
i was hoping he'd go into first english lutheran, but i'm glad we got a shoutout 😄it's a beautiful place, and it was good to see the courtyard again before all of the current construction on it
Rick Sebak's videos provide me with a free sightseeing trip back home to Pittsburgh. I grew up in Penn Hills and Beulah Road and Churchill's name origin now make sense.
We're happy to hear that, thank you! Stay tuned for more Sebak content and don't forget to check out our other playlists!
Even though I no longer have WQED on my television (WQED was our PBS station from 1998-2004, when we switched to Penn State's PBS station), I still admire Rick Sebak's documentaries from watching several RUclips videos. But many of those videos have since been taken down because of RUclips's copyright system. I'm hoping WQED's RUclips Channel will upload more full Rick Sebak documentaries in the near future without having to worry about copyright violations.
Daniel, we're so happy to hear you enjoy Sebak's documentaries! We are streaming even more of his documentaries and specials on Passport: www.wqed.org/passport
@@WQED Thanks.
Jason and the Scorchers! Nice.
Great to see - Rick did a great job, as always. I wonder how many of the ones captured here are still standing? I believe the Episcopalian one mentioned as having a "future in doubt" was demolished (was that footage of the demolition right after that clip?) - I also wondered if the Millvale one was the one demolished to widen Rt 28.
What beautiful places. All catholic churches, schools I attended merged in the 70's and all are condominiums
St. Mary's of the Mount in Mt. Washington?
Why isn't this on DVD?
39:09 I walked past this a lot and I always wondered what it looked like inside. I'm so sad it's fallen into disuse. So sad
"It's da toot a' Saint Ant'ny. It's even labeled!"
One cathedral has the most artifacts outside of the Vatican.
Wondering why the beautiful Greek Orthodox church wasn't shown ?
Do you have a Ford Ranger?

I was very disappointed that more Catholic churches were not showcased. Even mention of "Catholic" is very scarce.
I counted 4. Saint Patrick’s, Saint Anthony’s chapel, Saint Nicolas, and Holy Trinity. How many do you need?
Pittsburgh is a very large city.
