I put some of my fabrics in the photocopier then cut up sheets of the actual prints, to design my first sampler quilt. Then stuck the pieces together again so as to not get my layout messed up. Just lay the fabric pieces on the copied pieces to get it sorted out.
I am amazed. I'm a new quilter, limping my way through pot holders. This has been like watching a magician - my mouth is hanging open. Thanks so much for opening new doors.
I’m glad you show us the steps in sewing and cutting without actually doing it each step of the way. . I assume that those watching your excellent tutorials already know how to sew and cut. So watching sewing is redundant. Your tutorials are concise and to the point. I also like that you don’t do a lot of talking off subject. Thank you! You have the best tutorials on RUclips
i really, really like that too. i get so tired of fast forwarding through videos on some channels that chat for 5, 10, 15 minutes before finally saying "let's get started!". only to spend half of the rest of the video watching a close up of a 1/4 inch seam being sewn over and over and over...
@@nonyabizness.original This is great feedback, thank you! We do show a bit more sewing in some of our videos, but even those, we speed up the video ourselves, and definitely don't show every seam, just the first one or two and then skip over the rest. We don't like to watch all that sewing either!
I know you did this video years ago but you have taught me so much, im new to quilting and I could watch you all day cutting and moving the pieces around
Wow thank you so much, i am a fairly new quilter having tried to make a disappearing 9 patch first for my grandson and making a block surrounded by triangles to make a star effect with wee checquered block as the other block, this i'm still to finish because the pattern was for a single bed and i wanted it for a kingsize. Anyway, seeing all the different designs you could make with simple blocks to start with was absolutely magical. And thank you for showing how each step of the way should look, because as a newbie really it opened my eyes and mind to the patterns that could be done with a simple block. Crafty hugs from Norah, Glenochil, Scotland
This is the second time I've watched this tutorial to refresh my mind on how to do these kind of blocks. I'm so grateful to be able to re-watch something as many times as needed! Thank you for this very well done tutorial. I look forward to more tutorials from Tulip Square. Blessings to y'all.
God bless you and keep you forever and ever. You are such a delight to watch. I wish so badly I could spend all day with you and just listen to you teach for endless hours on hours. This was so pleasant. Thank you for sharing
Just found your channel. Thank you for taking the time to actually explain all the steps. I'm a new quilter, and I like to use RUclips, but some just go so fast or don't explain exactly what their doing so it's hard to follow. I thank you so much for knowledge and instruction!
Thanks so much for the tutorial video. So many options to chose from! Excited to get sewing. Now just have to decide which pattern to start with first! Thanks again
0nly just discovered your utube, wow so many great ways to alter a block going to be busy trying all these out thankyou. will check out your other videos too
I have seen only a couple of disappearing block versions in the past...so I am happy I found your video. I like the way you show the options...and the suggestion to practice on paper is good for many reasons. When cutting apart blocks we are getting into "bias country" and need to gently handle the sub-sections because bias edges stretch readily and stretch is the enemy of fitting pieces back together.
Thank you for sharing your quilting knowledge. I enjoy watching your tutorials and instructions on how easy it is to make quilting blocks. I am a new beginner quilter and it’s exciting to see how to make complicated blocks look so easy. Thank you for sharing your talent and knowledge. 😊
So many wonderful patterns from such simple shapes! I think I like the ones made with 5 strips the best. This is a great video for beginners (like me!)
New Sub. Totally fascinated by the designs one can make by turning the pieces of one simple block. I want to take ALL of my scraps & make ALL HSTs and play and play till the end of my days!😂😂😂 (Not so weird. I'm old.😁)
I am extremely grateful for your tutorial, as I am a beginner in quilting. I now can make many different blocks in a matter of time. Thanks once again :)
Oh wooowww, I am blown away😊 it's 23h02 in South Africa, I'm soooo happy that I watched this vid,I'm a newbie & your demonstration is the Best I've seen, I don't need to watch any other tutorial about blocks,THANK YOU so much for explaining so clearly, love love love this. Stay blessed 🙏✝️
