For the dozen people asking where are the measurements, this tutorial is to show how to sew the pattern which she provides the link for. You need the pattern.😊😊
🤩🙏 I’ve watched this several times - thx so much for the instructions - I’m designing & making a gift for my sis w/ this block & needed your expertise. Very helpful. Thx again!
Very good instructions Paulette. I love this little block. I also purchased patterns from the website, subscribed and of course liked the channel. Thank you for the freebie and your time/talents.
I sew the first pieced section to the center, only sewing half the length of the center square then sew on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th sections. That way there is nothing in the way as I sew on the 4th section. Then I go back and finish the rest of the first seam. This is one of my favorite techniques and it has so many variations. It’s called a partial seam. It makes sense to my brain!
Nice tutorial, I’ve done y-seams before and like a variety of something different in sewing techniques, this takes away from the same same methods. Thanks for sharing. 👍❤️🙂
this is a very nice block but I wish you would provided the measurements of the blocks you used so we know the ratio between the large block, the rectangle, and the small square.
She is selling the pattern for this block...that is why she isn't posting the size of the pattern pcs... I'm going to draw it out on grid paper and figure it out ... Or maybe Google Spinning Star pattern? If I can't figure it out then I can order her pattern ..
Spinning Star is a common quilt block, so the sizes would depend on the pattern you are using. The pattern used in the video is available here: tulipsq.com/616 Thank you! 🌷
I'm not sure what you mean by untying, but we used our Spinning Star Placemats pattern. The spinning star block in it is 10 inches when finished. The pattern is available here: tulipsq.com/616 🌷
This is just to show the method. The size would depend on the pattern you're using. Ours came from our Spinning Star Placemats pattern, available here: tulipsq.com/616 🌷
You mentioned that you need a square of the dark material and a square of the light color that you can cut into triangles.....BUT YOU DON'T GIVE MEASUREMENTS OF HOW BIG THE SQUARES SHOULD BE! You can't learn without measurements!
This is a standard block, so the size would depend on the pattern you're using. We used our own placemat pattern, which can be purchased here: tulipsq.com/616
The size would depend on the pattern you are using. The method remains the same, and that is what we are showing here. The pattern we used can be found here: tulipsq.com/616 We think it's actually quite terrific! 🌷
My mother had made this block in a class once . I found it in her stash. I wondered how she did it. Thank you for showing how it’s done.❤

this is a very nice block but I wish you would provided the measurements of the blocks you used so we know the ratio between the large block, the rectangle, and the small square.
This is a sew-along that goes with our pattern. All of the measurements are in the pattern: tulipsq.com/616 🌷

What size block is it? Untying instructions?
I'm not sure what you mean by untying, but we used our Spinning Star Placemats pattern. The spinning star block in it is 10 inches when finished. The pattern is available here: tulipsq.com/616 🌷
Can you zoom out a little so we can see all the pieces your working with?
You'll be happy to know we have changed our camera angle since this video! 😊🌷
Block measurements pls give
The pattern is here: tulipsq.com/616 🌷
Be nice if you would give the size of the beginning squares.
This is just to show the method. The size would depend on the pattern you're using. Ours came from our Spinning Star Placemats pattern, available here: tulipsq.com/616 🌷
Can you do a star of David block or 2
I will put that on our list! 🌷
But what are the beginning square sizes? Confusing
This particular video goes along with one of our patterns, but the technique would work with any spinning star pattern. Ours is here: tulipsq.com/616
You mentioned that you need a square of the dark material and a square of the light color that you can cut into triangles.....BUT YOU DON'T GIVE MEASUREMENTS OF HOW BIG THE SQUARES SHOULD BE! You can't learn without measurements!
This video goes along with our spinning star placemat pattern. All of the measurements can be found there: tulipsq.com/616 🌷
You need to get the pattern.
I like the block. Do you ever cut off the dog ears? t
Not usually, unless they are in the way when I get to binding. Or if they add bulk to a junction. Thanks for watching! 🌷
@@TulipSquare Ok. I always do to reduce the bulk. t
@@TulipSquare I’m so happy you o oooo
You didn’t give sizes?🤷♀️
This is a standard block, so the size would depend on the pattern you're using. We used our own placemat pattern, which can be purchased here: tulipsq.com/616
You only get sizes if you buy the patterns. Sharing info for free is not what they do here! Go somewhere eles!
👏❤️👍💕👌🤝🫶🤗
🌷😊🌷
Eleanor Burns has a much quicker and easier method of piecing this star. You don't have the bias stretching problem with her method.
There are a lot of different ways to make most blocks. Thanks for sharing.
What size square? Terrible. . .
The size would depend on the pattern you are using. The method remains the same, and that is what we are showing here. The pattern we used can be found here: tulipsq.com/616 We think it's actually quite terrific! 🌷
