Though her intention here wasn't to be manipulative, it still was. Appledusk is clearly still on edge and nervous about this plan, but she sees him giving him a chance to express his feelings and leaves. It is clear he has zero say in this relationship as she does not take what he says nor his feelings into consideration. She only cares about what she wants and nobody else.

She knew well enough that his death and Flowerpaws were accidental, and she continuously pressed on the matter when he wasn’t comfortable, and she stopped when he expressed this verbally. She is ridiculing him for killing someone in self defense. She is harassing him over something that wasn’t his fault and was a situation of life and life. It is war either you defend yourself or you die.
Again later in the book, she Disregarded his feelings when he told her the river wasn’t safe, and instead she brushed off his feelings and warning and changed the subject. He urges her to keep the children away from the river and she gives the excuse. “I wanted to see you.” Not only is she an abusive mate but an extremely neglectful mother. A few seconds before Appledusk arrived patchkit struggled to stay afloat in the river and she refused to get him because she didn’t want to get wet leaving Appledusk to save him. She crossed a clearly dangerous river and fully expected her mate to help her after what she did. Later, when she tried to kill Reedshine, she used him as a scapegoat. Yes. Scapegoat abusive it’s a thing. It’s literally emotional abuse and bullying. He tried to save his kits; he really did, and he loved them, but Mapleshade convinced herself that he never loved them and that he purposely let them die, even though he didn’t know they were in the river until after he saved Mapleshade and she told him. And then she tries to kill Reedshine just to seal a claim on Appledusk.

Reedshine wasn't her bff, and Appledusk didn't even know she had got exiled. He was RIGHT to blame her for the whole thing because it was her fault her kits died. They were his kits aswell.

But Mapleshade forced her kits to cross a river in the middle of a flash flood, even though she was told to never let her kits cross the river again until they were old enough, and there was a bridge that she could have used to cross.

She is one of my favorite characters but she is a little over rated but she did not deserve going through all that pain! I wish she had a life with someone that cared! She deserved it all, while I do feel pretty bad for her, she still got away with manipulating others, breaking the code four times, and killing her kits unintentionally.
She didn't really kill her kits they got drowned from the wave and maple shade could save them so to warrior come to save them. So, first off, she said the kits father was someone who the real father killed in battle, thats kinda messed up. Then, she gets exiled beacuse of breaking warrior code and using the dead warriors name. Then, she crosses the river, despite she and her kits not knowing how to swim. Heck, the dead tom died by drowning, and one of the kits didnt want to go there. She could go by the bridge, or in another direction. Then, when she nearly dies, appledusk saves her, and riverclan rejects her even from there. Then, she kills 3 cats, from whose only appledusk could kind of deserved it. (And she originally wanted to kill a pregnant cat who had nothing to do with her except for being appledusks mate.) Then, in the dark forest, she felt triumph, not scared or sad how she could. Also, the book is from HER perspective, while she is not a mentally healthy cat. And by the way, we all know that ashfur has just LoVEd ToO MuCh.

She got together with a cat from another clan and when she had kits she used another cat's recent death to to worm her way out of that situation. 2. When she was exiled for this, she crossed a flooding, raging river instead of crossing the literal bridge. 3. She then went after a young medicine cat who rightfully revealed the truth about her lie. 4. She then went after the cat that she used as leverage for her lie's sister and killed them gruesomely with a snake bite. 5. She unjustifiably blamed her forbidden mate for the deaths of her kits instead of realizing that it was physically impossible for him to save them. 6. She used poor innocent Perchpaw to lure Appledusk and Reedshine to her. 7. She leaped after Reedshine, a pregnant she-cat, trying to kill her when she already knew how painful it was to lose her own kits. 8. She refused Miler's help and comfort in her final moments. 9. When she went to the Dark Forest she swore to get revenge on every one of Appledusk's kin which is extremely psychotic. (Not to mention the fact that she was aggressive towards her clanmates and had the urge to hurt them) If she is willing to do all of this, she was never a good cat in the first place and she deserved everything that she had coming to her, good night.
Did you read the book? The only cats that actually wronged Mapleshade were Frecklewish and Oakstar. Appledusk simply left her because her poor decisions got their kits killed. Ravenwing was just doing his job. Reedshine and Perchpaw did literally nothing wrong.

Oakstar exiled kits during a storm. Frecklewish encouraged Oakstar to exile the kits, followed Mapleshade and her kits to the river during a storm, and didn't make any attempt to stop them from crossing. Mapleshade crossed the river with the kits, knowing it wasn't safe and knowing it was storming. (She endangered kits multiple times. That's just one instance, though).

If you dont know what warriors is then dont read this blah blah blah. So, The three-colored cat (mapleshade) and the yellow cat (appledusk) are indeed in a relationship and had kits. But beacuse they are from different clans, mapleshade had to lie about the kits dad. She chose to say that a cat who was killed by the real father is the father. Then, someone sees it and he says that he may will say it to the whole clan. He gets a sign from starclan, so he tells the clan. She gets exiled for forbidden romance, and the thing with that killed warrior. She then goes throught a river, despite being told that its dangerous, and the kits she had with herself drowned. She nearly drowned, but appledusk saved her. Appledusk says that its her fault that the kits died (which is true.) And he has a new mate. Mapleshade gets kicked from the riverclan so she gets mad and kills 3 cats before being killed. So thats why almost everyone in the comments in a dummy and says that she isnt the real villain here, and she didnt deserve to go to dark forest (cat hell).

Mapleshade constantly invalidated his feelings, acting as if they weren’t important and never letting him get the full word in. He rightfully brings up the subject regarding their kits safety, but she continuously ignores the very valid points he’s bringing up.
Example one: "What if Thunderclan finds out? What will your clanmates think?" And she brushes him off as if his feelings mean nothing. She tells him that she has everything under control, completely ignoring his concerns regarding his kit's safety and if Thunderclan were to find out their true heritage
Example two: "Are you sure Starclan approves of what we're doing?" She manipulates by saying that "we have brought Thunderclan new kits! How could they not approve? I will teach them to be loyal to both Thunderclan and Riverclan." Though her intention here wasn't to be manipulative, it still was. Appledusk is clearly still on edge and nervous about this plan, but she sees him giving him a chance to express his feelings and leaves. It is clear he has zero say in this relationship as she does not take what he says nor his feelings into consideration. She only cares about what she wants and nobody else.

Right before those two scenes, she guilt-trips him about the death of Birchface. She knew well enough that his death and Flowerpaws were accidental, and she continuously pressed on the matter when he wasn’t comfortable, and she stopped when he expressed this verbally. She is ridiculing him for killing someone in self defense. She is harassing him over something that wasn’t his fault and was a situation of life and life. It is war either you defend yourself or you die.
Again later in the book, she Disregarded his feelings when he told her the river wasn’t safe, and instead she brushed off his feelings and warning and changed the subject. He urges her to keep the children away from the river and she gives the excuse. “I wanted to see you.” Not only is she an abusive mate but an extremely neglectful mother. A few seconds before Appledusk arrived patchkit struggled to stay afloat in the river and she refused to get him because she didn’t want to get wet leaving Appledusk to save him. She crossed a clearly dangerous river and fully expected her mate to help her after what she did.
Later, when she tried to kill Reedshine, she used him as a scapegoat. Yes. Scapegoat abusive it’s a thing. It’s literally emotional abuse and bullying. He tried to save his kits; he really did, and he loved them, but Mapleshade convinced herself that he never loved them and that he purposely let them die, even though he didn’t know they were in the river until after he saved Mapleshade and she told him. And then she tries to kill Reedshine just to seal a claim on Appledusk.

Oak was 💯 correct for exiling maple. She said birch face (Oaks DEAD son) was the father, when in truth it was apple dusk. Birch faces killer. Oak star was justified to exile maple, but not the kits.

She is one of my favorite characters but she is a little over rated but she did not deserve going through all that pain! I wish she had a life with someone that cared! If she didn't love apple dusk and just loved someone else in her clan she would have been fine but what is that in a story! Who here agrees that maple shade should be given another chance!
She deserved it all, while I do feel pretty bad for her, she still got away with manipulating others, breaking the code four times, and killing her kits unintentionally.
She didn't really kill her kits they got drowned from the wave and maple shade could save them so to warrior come to save them. And yes she did break 4 codes but the one that she was with apple dusk is wrong because he blames it on her and then cheated on her! So, first off, she said the kits father was someone who the real father killed in battle, thats kinda messed up. Then, she gets exiled beacuse of breaking warrior code and using the dead warriors name. Then, she crosses the river, despite she and her kits not knowing how to swim. Heck, the dead tom died by drowning, and one of the kits didnt want to go there. She could go by the bridge, or in another direction. Then, when she nearly dies, appledusk saves her, and riverclan rejects her even from there. Then, she kills 3 cats, from whose only appledusk could kind of deserved it. (And she originally wanted to kill a pregnant cat who had nothing to do with her except for being appledusks mate.) Then, in the dark forest, she felt triumph, not scared or sad how she could. Also, the book is from HER perspective, while she is not a mentally healthy cat. And by the way, we all know that ashfur has just LoVEd ToO MuCh.

If he cheated, why were there no romantic interactions between him and Reedshine until after he broke up with Mapleshade? Reedshine would have been way further along with the pregnancy as well. She wasn't even showing at the end of the book.

1. She got together with a cat from another clan and when she had kits she used another cat's recent death to to worm her way out of that situation.
2. When she was exiled for this, she crossed a flooding, raging river instead of crossing the literal bridge.
3. She then went after a young medicine cat who rightfully revealed the truth about her lie.
4. She then went after the cat that she used as leverage for her lie's sister and killed them gruesomely with a snake bite.
5. She unjustifiably blamed her forbidden mate for the deaths of her kits instead of realizing that it was physically impossible for him to save them.
6. She used poor innocent Perchpaw to lure Appledusk and Reedshine to her.

(Not to mention the fact that she was aggressive towards her clanmates and had the urge to hurt them)
If she is willing to do all of this, she was never a good cat in the first place and she deserved everything that she had coming to her, good night.

Mapleshade crossed the river with the kits, knowing it wasn't safe and knowing it was storming. (She endangered kits multiple times. That's just one instance, though).

If you dont know what warriors is then dont read this blah blah blah. So, The three-colored cat (mapleshade) and the yellow cat (appledusk) are indeed in a relationship and had kits. But beacuse they are from different clans, mapleshade had to lie about the kits dad. She chose to say that a cat who was killed by the real father is the father. Then, someone sees it and he says that he may will say it to the whole clan. He gets a sign from starclan, so he tells the clan. She gets exiled for forbidden romance, and the thing with that killed warrior. She then goes throught a river, despite being told that its dangerous, and the kits she had with herself drowned. She nearly drowned, but appledusk saved her. Appledusk says that its her fault that the kits died (which is true.) And he has a new mate. Mapleshade gets kicked from the riverclan so she gets mad and kills 3 cats before being killed. So thats why almost everyone in the comments in a dummy and says that she isnt the real villain here, and she didnt deserve to go to dark forest (cat hell).
