Devon went against Lupkes back in the early 2K teens and beat him with a hook. I believe this was before any major injuries had occurred, including that elbow injury that forced him to go against Dennis left-handed. Perhaps he wasn’t stronger then, but is speed and mobility was different.

I think he brings up a good point. Part of your training will inevitably be other arm wrestlers who will push you to improve in strength, endurance, technique. But with someone as strong as Levan, it being fairly well agreed that he's in another league with roughly 6-10 guys down a notch, who is there to bridge that strength gap? That has to make pulling him for the first time in an event that much more difficult. You could kind of see that when Dave Chaffey pulled him. Dave was just kind of like "what the hell?"

From what I heard, seems to me that Devon just got stronger because of the PEDs and at some point table time and weights training started to feel light. And that shows that he never had the intention to close the strength gap, just wanted to have even more endurance. We all saw how this ended. You cant relly only on PEDs and food to make you strong. If you don't increase the intensity, you are waisting time. The strength gap was the thing that got him hurt in the match so I think that if he tries to peak strengthwise and with the same PED usage, he will have more chances to apply the endurance.

Devons training would prolly be enough to beat 99.9 percent except for Levan, for him you prolly need to go crazy heavy weights again and lower reps with all the risk that comes with it and maybe less tablepractices... + be 300 lbs or over..... If its still even doable at this age, and then the health risk...if Devon went all out at a younger age he probably was like Levan Or Denis. Devon will always say he's peak before a match just to hype it up and bring attention to the sport.
Preparing for a boxing match really killed his gains more than he lets on because he hates excuses and he's a tough dude. But boxing is opposite of Arm wrestling. You need to work on fully extended your arms while Arm Wrestling needs your arms to be as tight as possible.
