It's a shame that Devon didn't have table time with much stronger pullers in training leading up to the match.
Someone like Ryan Bowen comes to mind.
That would have been very de-motivational for Devon, getting crushed in practice like that.
@@andrewjackson3959 You mean for Devon, right?
@@DubYuhGChoppa Yes, devon generally cant touch top guys, so he avoids them.
😂
Bowen is about 44% stronger than Levan, and all those vectors Ryan has, will just be way way WAYYY too much for Devon #ConnectiveTissue
The way he went through Michael Todd like a hot knife through butter..
Devon took Michael's soul...
I don't think Michael is hungry anymore now that he's got a taste of RUclips money
Keep up the good work on and off the table!
Ray ray!!Ray!!! This is great stuff!!! I love all your content!!! Your a down to earth type of guy an a funny guy at that very much appreciate!!!
Inspirational man for sure 👏🏼🙌
Hope we see Devon vs Genadi someay...the potentially the best supermatch ever!
It would be great. Too bad Devon isn’t doing super hw anymore
And they switched the weight classes this year so super he is 254 lbs and over. Instead of super hw always being. 244Lbs and Up
At 253 nobody beats devon but there are some awesome super hw that devon doesn’t want to go against.
Devon went against Lupkes back in the early 2K teens and beat him with a hook. I believe this was before any major injuries had occurred, including that elbow injury that forced him to go against Dennis left-handed. Perhaps he wasn’t stronger then, but is speed and mobility was different.
Levon would beat that version of Devon while eating a large sandwich
Devon is awesome and one of the best ever but you get a real reality check of how great Levan is.
And this weekend Devon walked through prudnik. Levan is just on another level.
Devon never won from his speed when he was younger anyways
We saw from that first pull that Devon was in the realms of causing an upset. Chance and an insanely strong Levan meant he never got to apply his full potential. So well done Levan.
There almost certainly a version of that fight where Levan didn’t hit so hard at the wrong moment, and Devon dragged him into deep water. But that’s life!
Yeah there is version of the world where you beat them both. Devon got injured because of the strength differential
@@youtubecensoringcomments7427 he got injured because his body was not at the right condition simple fact
Lmaooooo what the fk???? Dude wake up!
@@youtubecensoringcomments7427 only considering strength gap as a cause for tear is silly. Explain to me why corey got injured against alex when he was the stronger one?
Proper conditioning/rest prior to match...method of training devon chose(tightening a certain spot) holding at weird angles and so many other factors could have played a role
Nope, there’s no version... stfu !!
This is great stuff from the green hoodie gang!
Devon is an absolute legend best of the best ❤️💪
King's move ...
Good share Devon Laratt..
Hope this canadian gonna keep promoting the game, no better icon for the game than him..
And bring back chairs to competitive armwrestling! Kick it ol school
Seated armwrestling is a competitive sport too!
Chairs? What do you mean
He went in a circle faster than I could listen
Great video champ! Is that a No Limits hoodie you're wearing?
Ray is the realest I love him
Love how you're wearing a green hoodie too 😂😅
Devon’s hand and forearm were strong enough. It’s the rest of his body that let him down. For Levan you need overall strength.
I mean his bicep tore right? That's not overall body strength. His body wasn't conditioned for that kind of stress.
@@themonsoon117 Yeah, arm strength. The first round looked like his pronator held up. Just bicep strength and durability not enough. Levan can single arm partial curl 300 lbs and cup with early 200lbs if I remember correctly. That’s just ridiculous. Without that massive bicep driven back pressure, there just no way to break that.
I agreee. The Devon of 2008-2010 was active in the military and lifted heavy AF, full body training, and had ungodly center table strength .
@@dsm5083 his cup was 71kg
@@aaronrus Okay, I couldn’t remember
Hell yea we did
just love that coach wears the same green jacket like devon 😁
You 2 need to do a podcast…Seem to be on the same wavelengths? I think it would work..
You get "manspreading", and then you get Devspreading 😆
Ask him to describe "exactly" the strength he felt with levan....interesting to hear how he describes it
"Levan was really strong!"
"I couldn't move him at all" isn't very insightful lol, we know Levan is the strongest
Weak. He got lucky.
When one of the best armwrestlers in the world says "I couldn't move him at all"... now that's scary and speaks volumes of Levan's strength.
@@vhyles considering I've seen the man pulling a car a few years back. Yeah...... purely off memory though so maybe I'm wrong but I swear I saw of video of him again a compact car.
crazy to look back. hes only getting stronger
Thats why he needed table time with stronger guys
He was dodging it because of how ppl were saying how much stronger he gotten also he pulled Hutchins but he should’ve kept pulling Matt mask especially
They’re all in Europe unfortunately
@@jadams6419 Pulling Matt Mask would not have helped Devon with Levan. All the strong players are in Europe now. Only Dave is worth pulling to prepare for Levan.
Or just take his strength training more seriously like duh
@@bilogskii2216 Nah Mask would be worth it, just not as good as Dave. He could even use a band with Mask
Look at him now
During covid the euro’s levelled up and North Americans took the time off. It shows in the early east vs west matches. But it’s starting to level out now.
Europeans will almost always have the upper hand, since the gene pool in central Europe especially is absolutely bonkers for strength. Krasimir Kostadinov couldn't even beat his GRANDMOTHER in an armwrestle until he was in his 20s!!
👀🏔️ excellent inside scoop Ray💪😻 RCR 😎😇
I think he brings up a good point. Part of your training will inevitably be other arm wrestlers who will push you to improve in strength, endurance, technique. But with someone as strong as Levan, it being fairly well agreed that he's in another league with roughly 6-10 guys down a notch, who is there to bridge that strength gap? That has to make pulling him for the first time in an event that much more difficult. You could kind of see that when Dave Chaffey pulled him. Dave was just kind of like "what the hell?"
Where can I get a replica of Devon’s green hoodie?
Seeing Levan's metamorphisis from his younger years to now, I fail to see how people can deny a heavy use of steroids or a glandular anomaly.
HGH abuse
I don't think anyone does? It's CLEAR. Just like Denis Cyplenkov. They traded their health and longevity for being absolutely #1 in the world.
Literaly no one ever didnt noticed.
Even blindfolded facing the other way
Should be 2 categories, "natural and open" so that the juice boxes can do what they want but also so folks can have a shot at an actual championship that is not tainted through PED's🤙
Nobody denies it😂 it’s common knowledge… but he’s also blessed with ridiculous genetics
Havent listened completely yet but Devon always talks about cardio, being able to last longer than opponents. I understand the upside of that but; He talks about his strength before Levan. I would be super interested to hear about specific numbers. Devon is a huge inspiration for me and it would be awesome knowing what numbers he actually did at best, then I'd have something to shoot for myself :)
But it seems like he says "strength" then talks about cardio.
Your inspiration is a CHEAT

Im curious if devon wrist pushups and finger pressure pushups with body weight pressure.
So I have surgery scheduled for my left arm from a lifting injury. It will be out of commission for at least 6 months. I am officially doing giant pumpkin on the right arm and will see results in half a year.
The problem with lavan is with very few exceptions hes still in his own weight class.
Devon is a huge athlete. Still gets outweighed by a 100 pounds. In a strength sport, that's not ground you're gonna be able to make up through effort and technique.
6:48 , wow inside too
2008 devon is Different
why did you interrupt him when he was about to talk about his lifting numbers when he normally never does? I think everyone would've liked to know even if it is difficult to compare
He spoke briefly about his rising numbers from then on a video on alex kurdechas channel
@@Gazname do you recall what he said?
@@TheMovielover27 I think he was hitting pronation for sets of 50 with something ridiculous, like 50kg or something
Anybody other than Levan had no chance. Devon's style is he doesn't try to win, he makes you lose. There's no immediate explosiveness, just lock, hold and drain. For him to come out of the shadows and confidently destroy MMT was scary. Back in the day, "Hellboy" Larrat was peak. Not a super heavyweight but an unbeatable supervillain.
Larratt's style is to hold cause he's weak and needs to wait for his opponents to get tired

A rematch with Levan in 2 years would be nice
I want to see Devon train Hathor to pull Eddie Hall (trained by Michael Todd), Also Devon needs to search the earth for the perfect student and train them to beat Levan.
That’s asking for an injury lol
No more of those 2
ah yes, i think you mean auden
There's no doubt, no other version of Devon beats Levan vs Devon Devon
I wish he would’ve trained with Chaffee.
From what I heard, seems to me that Devon just got stronger because of the PEDs and at some point table time and weights training started to feel light. And that shows that he never had the intention to close the strength gap, just wanted to have even more endurance. We all saw how this ended. You cant relly only on PEDs and food to make you strong. If you don't increase the intensity, you are waisting time. The strength gap was the thing that got him hurt in the match so I think that if he tries to peak strengthwise and with the same PED usage, he will have more chances to apply the endurance.
You can rely on PEDs and food to make you strong. Trouble is, Levan is also using PEDs and food.
Which is so bizarre since he seemed to have learned that lesson before with Denis.
Dude devon as wolverine with that beard, thoughts?
1 million percent the best devon! anyone who would face that Devon had no chance, especially at table time no one was moving him lol i even think if he had pulled stronger people i dont think it would matter lol cause he was training for a mountain!
8:30 message to everyone that says a younger version of Devon is stronger. Well there you have it, the man debunked that theory himself. The Devon that faced Levan was the PEAK Devon we have ever seen throughout his career, and this also shows how INSANELY powerful Levan is, quite unbelievable actually.
Every single guy says that he's the strongest ever. Doesn't mean that it's true.

Devon is simply an endurance athlete. He trains like an endurance athlete, and that’s what he’s always going to be. I bet he’d be stronger if he rested a little more in between workouts. No way to heal completely.
Yes it is almost like long distance runners vs sprinters
It would be interesting what would happen with more rounds. Like a 15 round match.
Check out this seminar explaining his training if you think he trains for endurance:

15 rounds would be garbage.
3 rounds is ideal, 5 rounds should be max.
Armwrestling should be all about strength, not about endurance
Try again..... does he mean to try again with levan?🤩
It would be pointless
I mish prefer this real Devon over the prematch Devon doing a Conor McGregor impersonation.
Its a real shame for his weight he was the best he's ever been and maybe for the weight class the best ever. He was destroying everyone leading up to Levan. That's been over looked him losing to a gorilla over a 100lb heavier than him. Its insane to think anything else would of happened. You can't mock a guy losing to somebody already a great puller so much bigger than him.
That's the downside to an open weight class when it's strength based. Of course the guy 140lbs heavier is going to lift more.

Devons training would prolly be enough to beat 99.9 percent except for Levan, for him you prolly need to go crazy heavy weights again and lower reps with all the risk that comes with it and maybe less tablepractices... + be 300 lbs or over..... If its still even doable at this age, and then the health risk...if Devon went all out at a younger age he probably was like Levan Or Denis. Much respect for him tho, crazy acconplishments, close to a goat imo.
To beat Levan, you'd need to do everything exactly as Levan does but bigger and better lol
Yo!
In his prime years Devon remained small.
Its better to be number 2 superheavyweight in the world and keep chasing for that number 1 spot instead of lowering your weight class and be the top there. And Devon was arguably no.2 in the world right hand prior and post Levan fight. I guess he doesn't want it that bad like other people do.
I don't think he can or wants to put his body through all that stuff again, especially at his age.
He wanted to try for world number 1 and realised he cannot do it now, so the energy would be wasted to keep trying at his age. That is without mentioning the fact he has to be singular focussed and his relationship with his family has to take a hit to compete at that level as well as his overall health.
@@mattyone78 which is why he doesn't want it that bad. There are people who are willing to do those.

With that being said, peak center table strength was by far 2008-2010 Devon. He was untouchable during that time period. None of the euro guys would pull him, for any amount of money, even Denis. Peak outside strength is the Devon of a few months ago,
why do you not understand that it doesn't have to "touch" the pad for it to count as a pin? Also, Bill Collins knows what he's doing. If he considered it a pin, then it's a pin. End of story.

He did look very strong that day but Michael Todd is no Levan
Yes I completely agree! He just looked thicker and stronger to me. Although perhaps bordering on unhealthy looking. He looks crazy fit now! Getting ripped!
Imo, he looked stronger because his opponent was weaker. Just a matter of perspective.
@@user-fe2oh8oj2u no he was actually much bigger against Todd, i imagine he was listening to people saying thats too unhealthy so he just trimmed back down.
@@ShaunLodwig1987 , he only looked bigger. Devon was 132.9kg for MMT and 130.5kg for Levan. Just 2.4kg (5.3 lbs) diffence.
For MMT , Devon was more fluffy, softer. For Levan, however, Devon was leaner and had more muscle. Which is why Devon himself says he was stronger for Levan than for MMT.

Plain and simply everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face that's basically what happened. He got hit with a strength level he was nowhere near ready to deal with.
He needed to come in about 80 lbs heavier to compete. We saw a big Devon but not big enough. Levan is just not from the world.
that's literally what i commented when Todzilla said that he couldn't move Devon, the fact that had a 2v1 match before that, he wouldn't even be able to move Bowen at that point, his words AT THAT TIME were not supposed to be a metric for anybody... but guess what, delusional fanboys obviously called me a Devon hater, you guys should try practicing some common fucking sense in NA, pretty helpful tool in life

Guys and everybody.. Ray and who ever come on guys... like how can you expect that he could do anything more against a guy 50 kg heavier in a world where the 50kg heavier guy is also training specific for years i mean... Yes an 70kg guy can beat a 100-120 kg non armwrestler or a person who is training only 1-2 years but on elite level with guys 10-15 years into the sport you cannot expect a 70kg guy NEVER EVER to win a 100-120kg guy.
So same thing... it doesn´t matter how Devon trained.. how much he was prepared and all that bla bla bla... its just imposible for him to win in this conditions being 130kg vs 180kg guy. Otherwise we would see world strongest man right now with 120kg instead of 160+
I think he panicked to much devon made a big mistake getting levon so mad because it became personal. Now there freinds. Levon said he was not even going to train but devon pissed him off so bad he trained harder then ever before.
Ppl are saying Ryan Bowen was caught paying ppl to let him jack there Johnsons to train for you.
I my opinion , Devon should tryb again be the top od the top. Becouse injury he have in round 2 , maby change thinks. Its not that clear , how match goes if he was heal. Maby same , but... There are be some questions , and we dont knows the answers.
The fact he got injured at the top of the movement and it tore because Levan drove through his max effort suggests that the strength gap between him and the top is too big.

Gotta be honest, as a Devon fan, he was either dumb or lazy with his preparation, which is a shame, I believe more in the dumb part that the lazy one
Why does he sound like his training is a secret, it definitely didn't work so why try to keep it a secret
The strongest Devon was the one who beat MMT. No one can convince me otherwise.
Devon will always say he's peak before a match just to hype it up and bring attention to the sport.
Preparing for a boxing match really killed his gains more than he lets on because he hates excuses and he's a tough dude. But boxing is opposite of Arm wrestling. You need to work on fully extended your arms while Arm Wrestling needs your arms to be as tight as possible.
I'm not saying the Devon that beat MMT would have beat Levan, but it would not have been as one sided.
Oh God here we go again 🙄 another person that knows devon more than devon himself lol this is just ridiculous
Devon said all weights on armwrestling fundamentals were higher in his preparation for Levan. Matt Mask also said Devon's practice pulling with him were stronger on Levan's prep, this says a lot
@@samuelmorin1358 of course they're going to say that they're promoting a match. Who would go into a match saying they weren't as strong as they were last time?
@@ramonortiz3095 it's not ridiculous at all the dude loves promoting. It's all a mental game with him.
The biggest problem with saying he was stronger against MMT is all the guys who pull Devon in the lead up to all his big matches said he felt way stronger than they have ever felt him. I guess there was a phenomenon where all Devon's training partners got super weak at the same time in the lead up to Levan which gave them and Devon a false indication of his strength...
How in God's name do you look at Levan and think conditioning will win it? Devon made a huge blunder not bulking up and focusing on brute power. Maybe he never thought he had a chance to get strong enough anyway.
He was top 8-10 easily in his second match with Todd.
Devon gotta do weights then only it's possible to defeat Levan, the way he trains is not the way to be a champion.
Y'all still just playing catch-up to the Goat John in his prime would be blasting through all these guys🤦He's beat men bigger stronger and with way more technique than all these guys and there steroids 😆😅😂🤣😭
Only mistake Devon made during prep for Levan was not having a training partner like Ryan Bowen who's superior in strength. Only if Ryan would've helped Devon out Levan would've been so scared he wouldn't have shown up😁
Lmao
"I hoped hed play with me some more"
Thats devons gimmick. He tries to tire you out by pressing after the ref says stop and stalling in the setup.
Devon is someone who needs certain conditions to be met in order for him to win. If he cant do todds version kings move and if the opponent doesnt play his games, he cant win.
Sorry but you can’t just “play” with European who beats all other Europeans who beat all Americans. 🤷♂️
