February 14, 2011, I was laying in a hospital bed. A spinal injury 6 months prior had left me virtually paralyzed from the waist down and I had two previous unsuccessful surgeries to fix it. February 13th they tried a double spinal fusion micro lumbar surgery to release the pressure on the nerves and put in titanium to support the bone. I had the surgery and was lying in the bed. It was too early to tell if anything had worked and I remember feeling pretty low. That night, I was watching Raw on a small wall mounted TV above my hospital bed. As the show closed, they were about to introduce the special guest host for Wrestlemania...when that music hit, and the Rock emerged on stage, I immediately had this cathartic moment. He was my absolute favorite of all time, and hadn't really seen him since WMXX. In that moment, I felt a peace and excitement I had not felt since my accident. Things were definitely still rough, but that 15ish minute promo was so amazing and it really showed how good the Rock was, how he could walk back in after nearly a decade, and pick up where he left off like he never left. 13 years later and I still think about that moment. The excitement and the John Cena feud helped get me through the next month of rehab, culminating in me WALKING to a friend's house to watch WM27. I know there are more impactful returns, but for me, that was the most magical return I could have asked for.
I’m not sure if he completely counts, but Cactus Jack’s return in 2000 was so good. Triple H’s shock and the crowd pop was so dope and the following match at RR was a damn good hardcore match.
The return of Deadman Undertaker is a core childhood memory. I've forgotten literally everything else from when I first watched Mania 20, but I remember the druids and Kane yelling, "You're not real!" vividly to this day
Brock Lesnar's 2012 return was pretty epic. The way they had Cena waiting for the rock and when Lesnar came out. Some people knew as there were signs, but I litterally hadn't watched Raw for years and happened to randomly tune in, and Lesnar came out. The Arena came unglued 😅
Mr Perfect at royal rumble 02. Could have done so much more with him. He could still go. I remember really wanting a Kurt Angle vs Mr Perfect feud and match for that years mania. It would have been excellent. Instead they used him as enhancement talent. Such a crying shame. The audience still loved him.
For myself, Scott Steiner at Survivor Series 2002 will always stand out because of the line he yelled before he was handed a live mic. Paul Bearer’s returns with Kane in 2000 and Undertaker in ‘04. Paul Heyman returning in 2001 (I view the 1997 invasion as his debut) was the best possible response to the King leaving. That said, the King’s return was great later in 2001. It always gets overshadowed by Ric Flair’s return later that night. Finally Brock Lesnar returning the night after Wrestlemania in 2012.
I was at mania 38. I was so careful to not see spoilers and my friend baited me into thinking it was gonna be Shane vs Rollins. When Cody’s music hit I was screaming. That made the ticket for wrestlemania 38 so worth it and to this my favorite wrestling moment of all time
Taker's return to the Deadman kept most of the best things from both characters. While I'll always love late 90s Taker the most, this new version was probably the best overall
@@JarretRogers-t3r No. And Cena was just a rookie not important why would he play a role of ushering a new era? The overglazing of Cena by gen z is ridiculous.

I was at Judgement Day 2000, and what a damn day/night that was. This was the first and only time I showed up early in the day. I met one of my buddies behind the arena and we hung out waiting to meet wrestlers as they came in. There was the two of us, along with a few dozen others. We succeeded in meeting a few, and though he ignored everyone yelling for him, we saw Taker behind the gate, and even saw him playing around with the motorcycle he would later ride to the ring. Even though we seen him and the bike, it was still a crazy surprise to see him fly to the ring on it. There were a lot of insane things that happened that day and night, and often when I share the story on here I’m called a liar 🤥 😂. But things are totally different these days, so I get why some people would doubt it. Back then, there was an outside gate between Freedom Hall and the old Cardinal/Redbird stadium that they would all enter through, and it was perfectly fine for people to be out there. I just recently took my son to a Smackdown at Yum, where they all now drive directly into the building. And if you try to hang out by the door, security tells you to “move along sir”. It sucks, cause my son really wants to meet more wrestlers, and they rarely do meet and greets in this area. I don’t want to be one of those people stalking around hotels and airports, so I really wish there were more options, or things were like the good old days.
I remember Taker returning then and the fans trashing the ring when HHH was awarded the win lol. The Rock in 2000 was as over with the crowd as he ever got

My favorite will always be the last on your list here, HBK returning in 2002. In a day before the internet like it is now, reading all the magazines and it being 4 years, I never thought it would happen. I still remember when he returned that June in 2002, and was on phone with a friend from work, while waiting on Kevin Nash’s announcement. Kane's 1st return in 2000 when Paul Bearer reunited with him and the 2002 return when he saved Booker T and Goldust are amazing. The crazy thing with that 2000 return on RAW was the fact he was only gone for like 2 weeks, he was just that beloved in the Attitude Era (though I'm sure people were hyped to see a slimmer returning Paul Bearer too who was gone for months)
Originally from what I'd heard, Taker (and I presume Paul too?) was supposed to be one to return that night, but he wasn't ready yet, so ended up being Kane, hence why it felt rushed. Idk if it's true tho.
I would say Brock coming back the night after Wrestlemania. Plus Ric Flair coming back the night after the Invasion Angle was done as a co owner with Vince. Plus Kurt Angle coming back for his Hall of fame induction then to become GM of Raw
For my money, even though it wasn’t a full time return, but seeing “Stone Cold” Steve Austin return for that one off match at WrestleMania against Kevin Owens ranks up there as a return for the ages. Simply cause I didn’t think it would happen, and that taped promo Austin cut leading up to WrestleMania gave me goosebumps and brought me back to my childhood.
2 come to mind that I remember well. The first one is when Mick Foly in 2000 when he became the commissioner. And the other one is Ric Flair after the WCW/ECW invasion.
Edge in 2020, bar none. He was the first wrestler I ever truly became a fan of, and seeing him go away so soon after I started watching was heartbreaking. That day was a horrible one (waking up to news of Kobe Bryant and several others passing away), and the Rumble was my escape. Little did I know I was going to be bawling all over again from hearing Alter Bridge during the main event.
Kane had one of my favorite returns in both 2002 and 2011, in 2002 he came out to Slow Chemical to wipe out the unamericans then doing the kanearonni then in 2011 during the slammy awards he returned during the John Cena vs Mark Henry match after scaring off Mark Henry he chokeslammed Cena before taking his mask off to show a new mask
8:34 Yeah, that was the big problem with the NWO in WWE that people don’t talk about. Hulk Hogan returning to the company he made the biggest in wrestling was always going to make NWO coming to WWE an afterthought.
A video for all of the Undertakers hiatuses/time away as well as the subsequent returns would be great! Remembering the old school Ted Dibiase vignettes of summer 94’… classics!
Steve Mufuggin Blackman in the 15th Raw Anniversary Show in 2007, taking part in the Mufug Battle Royale that night. His previous WWE match had been in June 2001, because he wasn't allowed to be part of the Invasion angle - something to do with being legally categorised as Unfair In War.
I think where people go wrong with the Shane McMahon return was Vince never said Shane had to beat the Undertaker, just simply have a match. Maybe a slip of a tongue or missing a word, but Shane did exactly what he was told and still didn't get Raw. DAMMIT VINCE 🤬
The warrior was my favorite growing up. I was a kid watching wrestemania 8. When warrior returned at the end, I remember blowing my kid gasket! A great moment in my childhood.
When I hear Born in the USA on the radio and the song goes “Got in a little hometown jam”, I immediately hear Homer Simpson in my head saying “mmmmmmmm, hometown jam!” Then I imagine a sign promoting “Bruce’s Hometown Jam” and in the lower right corner, is a picture of Bret Hart with a thumbs up and a talking balloon saying”Bruce is a jam up guy!” Thanks Wrestling Bios.
To me my favorite comeback was when Stone Cold has his two comebacks in 2000. First when Linda McMahon announced his upcoming involvement for the Backlash PPV, & his second more full time return in September 2000. Both were greatly anticipated. Also the WWE was at its peak in the latter portion of that aforementioned year plus it greatly benefitted having Austin the megastar on your roster for their most popular run ever.
Taker's at WM 20 was off the charts. I remember watching that live, and the second you heard OHHHHH YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES, goosebumps. That one is always going to be hard to top.
For me, the best part of that match was Kane slowly moving closer to check if what he was seeing was actually real while Undertaker just stood there motionless and staring back. Just a great piece of storytelling.
Thank you for the video! Triple H was always my favorite wrestler growing up and even though I liked him better as a heel his return in 2002 still gives me goose bumps whenever I watch it. It was probably my favorite return of all time. Don’t get me wrong he was great as a baby face but I like his heel work better. Regardless though his 2002 return is a moment I will never forgot. I was also there in the audience so it was Andrea come true seeing my favorite wrestler return live.
Wrestlemania XX, I don’t remember the undertaker match, I just remember Paul bearer yelling at the ring, “You’re no son of mine!” and Kane, completely losing it, yelling all through the entrance, “No, you’re dead, I buried you! You’re not real, you’re not real!” He was still yelling when the first punch was thrown, you can easily forget just how good Glenn Jacob’s was with his expressions and presence in and out of the ring and his mask.
I was there in Albany in 98 when X-Pac returned. Amazing night. Crowed was so hot all night. Vince debuted the Attitude Era belt. Even Raymond Rougeu tagged with Jaques and PCO in a dark match 6man. Went to Mania 14 the night before. Awesome senior year of HS.
I was there the night X-Pac came back. It seriously was one of the most exciting things I ever witnessed, along with seeing Stone Cold come out with the beer truck the day after the Tyson WrestleMania.
Idc what anybody says, "Big Evil" Undertaker will always be favorite version. You had way more places to go than with the dead man. I've always wished they would've kept that version, and eventually added characteristics of the dead man. Have him sit up the old way. Have him walk to the ring slower, more methodical, and bring the lights up with his eyes rolled back. Basically, have it be 70/30, maybe 60/40 Big Evil to Dead Man. That's just me, though. Y'all Be Blessed 🤘✌️💙🐓
I gotta say, I went to a Smackdown in July 2021, and when Edge came out, the pop was huge. I haven't heard an arena that loud ever. I was just at Raw for the Summerslam go home show, and the Punk entrance was loud, but Edge coming out was awesome.
I was fortunate enough to bear witness to a couple of these in person. (Cody's at WM38 and CM Punk's at SS '23). The Rock's 2011 return was simply electric and though I wouldn't exactly describe myself as a Hardy Boys fan them returning at WM 33 was real feel good moment. Daniel Bryan's 2018 return also stands out as well as Bret's 2010 return.
Kane Returning with Paul Bearer in his inverted colors will always be my favorite that and his 02 return with the halfmask doing the Kanearoonie was amazing I remember as a kid that didn't have the internet nore knowledge of his previous gimmicks I was like is that really him I miss those days lol.
I remember when this happened. I’ll admit I was in full TNA mode and was excited to see them go head to head with Raw, and was optimistic when they announced Hogan was going to debut with TNA. But then when I heard WWE’s counter to this was Bret Hart’s return since the MSJ incident, I immediately thought “WWE’s won the week already!” Cause how could TNA truly counter such a moment?? A truly Hell freezing over moment indeed.
I know you'll be covering it in your upcoming CWC video but I loved it when Tajiri came back to participate in the tournament. Getting to see him reunite with Regal always puts a smile to my face, and one must wonder what would happened if he stayed. A match with Shinsuke, maybe?
I started watching around the time Undertaker took a break in 1999. So I grew up with ABA/Big Evil Undertaker. I loved his faster, more aggressive style. And the 2004 return as the Deadman was incredible. Whatever you think of the American Badass, you have to see that it breathed new life into the Deadman gimmick.

Originally from what I'd heard, Taker (and I presume Paul too?) was supposed to be one to return that night, but he wasn't ready yet, so ended up being Kane, hence why it felt rushed. Idk if it's true tho.
My fav. return is Grandmaster Sexay returning in 2004, I saw that and I recognized Sexay from Smackdown! 2 from 2000, that PS1 video-game.
Litas return after her broken neck. I remember the HHH return in 2002, it was electric, you could feel the audience through the TV.
I was at the Rumble in 2020... There were grown people crying and the pop still sends chills down my spine
You not showing Mick Foley coming back is a crime haha but dope video nonetheless!
RIP BIG SID
Kane had one of my favorite returns in both 2002 and 2011, in 2002 he came out to Slow Chemical to wipe out the unamericans then doing the kanearonni then in 2011 during the slammy awards he returned during the John Cena vs Mark Henry match after scaring off Mark Henry he chokeslammed Cena before taking his mask off to show a new mask
Can't forget the 2000 return of Kane where Paul Bearer showed up on the ramp, followed by Kane helping clean house against a bunch of heels.
8:34 Yeah, that was the big problem with the NWO in WWE that people don’t talk about. Hulk Hogan returning to the company he made the biggest in wrestling was always going to make NWO coming to WWE an afterthought.
I see wrestling bios is a tekken 3 fan for the Intro music
A video for all of the Undertakers hiatuses/time away as well as the subsequent returns would be great! Remembering the old school Ted Dibiase vignettes of summer 94’… classics!
Steve Mufuggin Blackman in the 15th Raw Anniversary Show in 2007, taking part in the Mufug Battle Royale that night. His previous WWE match had been in June 2001, because he wasn't allowed to be part of the Invasion angle - something to do with being legally categorised as Unfair In War.
Im glad that Hunter basically took over things because Vince might have been a business man but he wasent as much a People person.
RIP Sid Vicious
Cactus Jack’s return in early 2000 was pretty great
Shane O Mac return was insane.
Edge returning was tops for me.
I think where people go wrong with the Shane McMahon return was Vince never said Shane had to beat the Undertaker, just simply have a match. Maybe a slip of a tongue or missing a word, but Shane did exactly what he was told and still didn't get Raw. DAMMIT VINCE 🤬
I POPPED for Badass Biker 'Taker. I wan't one more 'You're gonna Pay' entrance.
Hey wrestling bios. Before two years i was in hard times, and you videos help me so much🙂i just want to say thank you
Coincidentally Jamie Hayter made a return today on the pre show. This is like The rock coming in to help Funaki on Velocity
The warrior was my favorite growing up. I was a kid watching wrestemania 8. When warrior returned at the end, I remember blowing my kid gasket! A great moment in my childhood.
Guys, I just heard about Sid 😢
The day xpac returned to the wwe was the first time i ever watched wwe.
W
When I hear Born in the USA on the radio and the song goes “Got in a little hometown jam”, I immediately hear Homer Simpson in my head saying “mmmmmmmm, hometown jam!” Then I imagine a sign promoting “Bruce’s Hometown Jam” and in the lower right corner, is a picture of Bret Hart with a thumbs up and a talking balloon saying”Bruce is a jam up guy!” Thanks Wrestling Bios.
12:39 Tony Khan ALWAYS looks like he’s in shock
Thanks guys
Dude has this weird thing where he wants to be a public face but is also obviously TERRIFIED of public speaking.
Cocaine is a hell of a drug
To me my favorite comeback was when Stone Cold has his two comebacks in 2000. First when Linda McMahon announced his upcoming involvement for the Backlash PPV, & his second more full time return in September 2000. Both were greatly anticipated. Also the WWE was at its peak in the latter portion of that aforementioned year plus it greatly benefitted having Austin the megastar on your roster for their most popular run ever.
Steve Austin return in 2000. He took on a Stone cold investigation on who ran him down only for it to be Rikishi. The match was brutal.
After all the stuff Bischoff pulled on TV, WCW had the nerve to sue Sean Waltman for his promo?
I don't think he took it seriously
Didn’t work for someone, brother
@@zlinedavid 😆
The one that was left out i really liked. The Rock returning and announcing he would join the WWF during the invasion.
So taker is now a full fledged biker Michael liker
Taker's at WM 20 was off the charts. I remember watching that live, and the second you heard OHHHHH YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES, goosebumps. That one is always going to be hard to top.
For me, the best part of that match was Kane slowly moving closer to check if what he was seeing was actually real while Undertaker just stood there motionless and staring back. Just a great piece of storytelling.
WM 20 is the GOAT.
I was at Wrestlemania 8. And I can confirm that the place went insane.
I marked out too it definitely was an awesome return
Thank you for the video! Triple H was always my favorite wrestler growing up and even though I liked him better as a heel his return in 2002 still gives me goose bumps whenever I watch it. It was probably my favorite return of all time. Don’t get me wrong he was great as a baby face but I like his heel work better. Regardless though his 2002 return is a moment I will never forgot. I was also there in the audience so it was Andrea come true seeing my favorite wrestler return live.
Nice... had a busy week, and only just got to watch the "WWF Debuts" video today... so that means this Sunday is a Wrestling Bios "twofer" for me!
I loved the entrance when you hear him say “Oh yes!!” when the lights went out but before the gong hits.
I liked seeing Vader and Sid return against heath slater
I remember Jericho's 2007 return
You definitely should do a video on specific wrestlers with multiples returns. Like a standalone Jericho video and Undertaker and Rock video
Y'all Be Blessed
🤘✌️💙🐓
Maybe a bit bias, but Asuka's return from her current knee injury will be up there
I was there live for The Fiend's debut attack on Finn
I was there when Warrior returned at WM8. I went berserk when that initial cymbal crash hit.
I gotta say, I went to a Smackdown in July 2021, and when Edge came out, the pop was huge. I haven't heard an arena that loud ever. I was just at Raw for the Summerslam go home show, and the Punk entrance was loud, but Edge coming out was awesome.
U have a great variety of videos..love ur channel..💙👌
And I know he wasn’t that big of star but I liked seeing Tantaka returning in 2006
He was I 92
Some of mine are John Cena at the 2008 Royal Rumble, The Rock in 2011, and Brock Lesnar at the Raw after WrestleMania 28.
11:38 the Big Evil run of Biker Undertaker is one of my favorite versions of the Undertaker
Cactus Jack on smackdown in the run up to the 2000 Royal Rumble
