I have so much sorrel growing in south Georgia, I'm overwhelmed. I've made sorrel drink, sorrel jam, and dehydrated a LOT and it's still producing on the bush.

Don't trust every granny!!! My one robbed my dad of his savings in the 80s, after he came to England and turned big demolition worker and bought house flights for her to retire into. She hated the half breed as they called it back then. Dutty bomba attitude!!! He done that for her and she robbed me as a child. Nasty bombahole, made me not trust any woman.

I have seen people put cinnamon leaf(or stick), pimento, clove and/or red wine in their sorrel but you make it the way my husband does (although he doesn't use lemon juice). This is one of my favourite drinks!

My gran always strained the sorrel through a piece of muslin cloth, because sorrel has tiny hairs that come loose when boiling and steeping, and they can irritate your throat.

These trees can be found in many Caribbean islands and some other international countries not just Jamaica...why can't it just be "sorrel" and not "Jamaican sorrel" 😑....I'm from st lucia and we don't go around calling it st. Lucian sorrel 🙄 ....good recipe however

Many of us from the Caribbean and South America have Sorrel growing in our countries. But this is Jamaican Sorrel done by a Jamaican, so it is Jamaican Sorrel. You can do your own St. Lucian version and call it what you choose.
