      Agreed. Great videos for learning how to ID the mushrooms I actually see around the south sound woods. Ate my first chanterelles recently

    I live in the southern part of the PNW, in the Redwoods...
    We have many of the same mushrooms here. Your videos are educational
    and the quality is good enough to teach identification for sure. Are you using a cell phone?
    I would like you to consider a series of videos focusing on certain specific trees and the associated fungi, maybe even a collection of all 4 seasons to that particular type of tree.
    A 4 season collection would be cool too... with each video focused on a specific season.
    I would buy :)
    Have a Happy New Year Bro!

      Thanks for the comment, definitely stuff to think about and good input. Yeah on these simple foraging videos I typically just carry my cell phone, sometimes a GoPro. I do have nicer cameras for the "higher end productions," but it's easy for me to go for a walk in the woods with my phone. Shoots pretty good video with a Galaxy s21, sorry Apple folk. 😂 If you scroll back through my videos I've done some other ones that talk a lot about mycorrhizal connections, but there's definitely room for those videos, as creating content can become a little bit of a struggle during the darkest days of winter, and the hottest days of summer. So I appreciate it and I will probably do some videos like that!

    Right at 14:00 you can watch the sarcodon or scaly hedgehog release spores into the slight breeze! (Watch the very top middle part of the screen.) I can’t get enough of your awesome videos you have been putting them together so well and have been super informative!

    Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I'm always out there trying to figure out what's what and I take home so much. I try to do spore prints but...I don't know how to read them. That's why I'm grateful for you explaining what you find around here in washington. I found purple ones but they weren't hairy. They were smooth and only purple on top. And also found a white mushroom with blue on it that I can't figure out what they are. Any idea?

      Oh I definitely have and did for about 15 years. I've been down many many rabbit holes, but I've got a family, got sober about 7 years ago. Keep it pretty wholesome these days, I'm not against anybody trying it, or using it like medicine or for spiritual purposes, just not for me right now 🤙🍄

    As you started with Amanita sp. there is a fun fact. The largest variety, named Amanita caesarae, is pretty much edible and considered delicacy in Europe. Don't know if you find any in the North-West US.

    • @mushroomwonderland1
      @mushroomwonderland1  2 года назад +1

      Yeah,some of the best edibles there are, unfortunately we don't have them up here. There are however "grisettes," edible amanitas, but people rarely pick them for the table

    I've never eaten honey mushrooms. Do you prepare them as you would any other mushroom (more savory), or are they more of a dessert type mushroom like a candy cap? Also, HOLY SMOKES on those blewits! They were huge!
