      Do most racing sim cockpits include the mounting screws needed to bolt the wheel and pedals to the rig? I purchased a cockpit recently but havn't assembled or unboxed it yet and was wondering if I'll need to purchase additional hardware.

    Great video review. The whole every screenshot with a different wheel rim pedals seating position is a homerun. The showcase of variety is not something you normally see, even with reviewers such as boosted media for example. I do have this rig and I love it! I run a DD1 on mine at 9-10 Nm as the lowest and I do not get any flex at any point of seat time. Also the Formula position lifting off the floor can be solved by simple sliding your pedals a bit further away from you and use your thigh muscles instead of your ankles. You gain finer control of your throttle and braking inputs finding that ultimate line through the corners dropping your lap times. I am not a pro by any means, this is just something I have picked up along the way.

    • @ADAPTNetwork
      @ADAPTNetwork  2 года назад

      Thanks for your comment and kind words Slowride-it means a lot. Wow, I’m impressed that you’re able to run the DD1 on the F-GT Lite. For a foldable rig, Next Level Racing really has done a great job at maximising strength and rigidity. I’m looking to upgrade to a direct drive wheel soon, so I’ll be able to do more testing then. Thanks also for the extra tip regarding pedal postion and technique. What pedal set are you running?

      What pedals are you running? Load Cell? If you are, are you getting any lift when you put some big force in the brake pedal> I am looking to get the F-GT Lite but I cannot get an answer if there is any pedal lift for load cell pedal users.

    I bought one & the 'bunny hopping' issue makes it unusable in the Formula position without bolting the 2 pieces of the rig (seat & pedal deck) down; I tried every position & any real pressure on my loadcell brake (T-LCM) &it lifted. Had to send it back but would advise anyone to pay £50 less & get the fixed GT version, it works fine in that position.

    Hi There. I'm modding my g923 pedals with the true brake mod. I have my seat in a gt style position with the rear leg one notch back from the gt setting - So somewhere between the formula and the gt setting. I also have the pedal set as close to flat as possible.
    In your experience, am I likely to suffer brake bunny hop and the pedal base/frame pivot point when I install the true brake? Or do you think I'll be OK?

      Thanks for your question Jameson. With a peak torque of 6.4Nm, the TS-XW is almost twice as powerful as the Thrustmaster TX I used in this review. Thanks for your question Molon. Next Level Racing states that the F-GT Lite can support drivers up to 6ft 6 inches (200 cm). There’s ample adjustability in the pedal deck (8:36), so I think you should be fine. • @ADAPTNetwork
      @ADAPTNetwork  3 года назад

      Great question 7up. Yeah, I think the default shifter mount that comes with the F-GT Lite is a bit too small to install a handbrake alongside a shifter. However, Next Level Racing has recently launched a flight pack add-on, which includes two larger mounts. While these are designed for flight sim equiptment, I think that they would also work with sim racing hardware. I have a shh shifter and cheap ebay e brake both mounted onto the shifter plate.
      I thought it wouldn't fit but surprisingly it works really well. I just screw in one screw on the ebrake and that was enough to mount it on the edge and still be sturdy and not move while using it.
      Other wheel stands and rigs the shifter plate is at a weird angle or bad location imo. This one feels natural to me.

      @ADAPTNetwork  3 года назад +1

      Thanks for your question Felix. The wheel deck on the F-GT Lite is pre-drilled for Fanatec wheels (7:30), so you should have no problems there. In order to access the triangle mounting pattern for Fanatec wheels, you just need to adjust the position of the wheel deck forward. With a peak torque of 8Nm on the CSL DD, however, you may lose a lot of feedback through vibrations in the frame. That being said, I tested the rig with my Thrustmaster TX at 100% force feedback (peak torque 3.9Nm) and I didn’t notice any movement when racing. Therefore, I would suggest running the CSL DD at just 5Nm-without the optional boost kit-for the best experience. Hope that helps. 👍

      Thanks for your comment Rab-I appreciate your kind words regarding the video. The F-GT Lite is surprisingly sturdy for a foldable sim racing cockpit. I wouldn't suggest running a direct drive wheel, but its certainly stable enough for most belt and gear driven wheels on the market. Compared to the Playseat Challenge, I also found it quite comfortable. Hope that helps. 👍

      Thanks for your question Саша. Personally, I would opt for the F-GT Lite over the Playseat Challenge. You can hard mount your pedals and it comes with a shifter mount as standard. Plus, the option to switch between formula and GT driving positions on the fly, is a nice bonus. Hope that helps. 👍

    Great review but sorry, I have to disagree,I think the Playseat Challenge is a much better option as it's far more comfortable and supporting, also, I don't have to add things to stop it moving or add cushions to it etc. Plus the Playseat is a lot quicker & easier to set-up & fold-away each time you want to play and it folds down to have a smaller footprint, so it's easier to store !!
    The Playseat Challenge is much more of a bucket-seat style too which also has arm-rests, which are all made out of a better material than the FGT-Lite imo !!
    Over-all, I much prefer the Playseat Challenge, I think it's a better design all-round and functions better, easier to move around and change seating positions on-the-fly, it's lighter, more stable, easier to store, over £100 cheaper !!
    The FGT-Lite really does look like a cheap, flat and uncomfortable looking deck-chair (and an over-sized one at that) where-as the Playseat hugs your body and holds you in-place like a proper bucket seat.....Need I go-on !?!?
    I've come to this conclusion after playing in both chairs extensively and generally using them as you would do from day-to-day and the only thing I liked about the FGT-Lite is the Locking-Joints BUT they really needed to have much smaller notches to allow for a finer and more accurate adjustment to set your seating position, so because of this I still prefer the way Playseat uses the Large Velcro Straps as it allows you to Fine-Tune your seating position exactly how you want !!
    I just feel this one is Massively over-priced and needed more time on the design table !!
    It was a great in-depth review though.....Very thorough !!
    If we all liked the same things, the world would be a avery boring place !!
    EDITED to fix a bit of dodgey spelling.....Doh !!
    Hape I goot thim aal !?

      Thanks for sharing your thoughts FatalDragon. I agree that the Playseat Challenge does have some advantages over the F-GT Lite-most notably, it’s easier to fold away for storage (like you say). However, once you get used to the adjustment hubs on the F-GT Lite, you can fold it down to a tiny footprint of just 75 x 40 x 87cm (2:50).
      I guess comfort comes down to personal preference. I did find the Playseat Challenge comfortable, but I think more people will benifit from the larger seat of the F-GT Lite. The other advantages that the F-GT Lite offers over the Playseat, is that it comes with a shifter mount as standard and you can hard mount your pedals.
      Next Level Racing has since launched a GT-only version of the F-GT Lite called the GT-Lite (ruclips.net/video/6IPM555JWiE/видео.html). This might be worth considering, since its a bit cheaper and I found that it was easier to fold away than the F-GT Lite.
      Overall, I would say that the Playseat Challenge remains a good starter rig for sim racers using a smaller two-pedal set with paddal shifting. However, for those using higher-end pedals and/or an H-pattern or sequential shifter, the F-GT Lite and GT-Lite are better options. Thoughts?

      @@ADAPTNetwork Yeah I agree, the Hard-Mount option for the pedals is always good but to be honest mine haven't moved since I installed them using just the Velcro (there is a hard-mount plate available online if you wanted) I'm using a Logitech G-920 Wheel and Pedal Set, which has 3 Pedals (I've up-rated the springs and added a better damper to the brake for better precision and realism)
      I also have the H-Pattern Shifter, which I have hard-mounted to the frame via an aluminium adapter-plate I bought on E-bay which holds it nice and solid exactly where I want it and I'm looking at getting a Handbrake sometime in the near future and fit it in a similar way to the Shifter.
      That's the only thing Playseat didn't think about really.....Using an external shifter and handbrake and how to fit them to the seat but there's plenty of options/solutions available online for both of them now which don't cost a huge amount of money and are simple to install too, so it's great that the F-GT Lite has thought about this and actually supply the mounts for them as well.....Nice one !!

    • @fataldragon69
      @fataldragon69 3 года назад +1

      @@ADAPTNetwork I also agree that the F-GT Lite would accomodate a larger player better than the Playseat, a 6ft person can play in the Playseat just fine but if a player is large the other way then things get a bit too tight and snug.....This is where the F-GT Lite shines, it's definitely been built to accomodate a wider range of body-types !!

      Nice @@fataldragon69, it sounds like you’ve put together a decent setup there. I didn’t know about the third-party pedal hard-mount-I’ll have to check that out. I used a RAM Mount (amzn.to/3qyaYxa) to attach my Thrustmaster TH8A to the Playseat Challenge. It worked really well, so it might be a good option for mounting your handbrake. 👍
