    Bought and downloaded it the minute it was realised. The best SDX by far for me now. Love it.

      @@shamanrocking9287 Rooms of Hansa, Decades, Death and Darkness and Legacy of Rock. I have a lot of others too, but these are the best, or were, now Field of Rock is ;) ....but they all have there places.

      Awwww, dude! Don't say that... I started with EZDrummer2 and grabbed EZX expansions! E.g. DarkMatter, Metal Machine, DFH, MAde of Metal, UKPop, Progressive, Raggae, The Classic, BigRockDrums. A few I got for 20$ .
      Tell me, are you using EZX kits as well?
      Since January I use SD3 and bought the Rooms of Hansa, but .... I have to GET another SDX.
      I know - for example - the Metal Machine EZX is the "lil' bro" of the MetalMachinery SDX, but which one?
      I am a hobby musician from the metal/rock/prog genres and .. yeah, what you you guys get? Death and Darkness? Rock Foundry, Metal Foundry, MetalMachinery...
      I use acoustic and edrums and got some 3 zone cymbal pad, and so I need to have those cymbal bell articulations.
      Damn - and - you know, I really like those Gospel sound or Legacy of Rock, too.
      Phewwww, now I know what a torture it is for women leaving a shoe store without buying anything.....

      No such thing as "THE BEST" - it all depends on what kind of music you want to make.

      One of my favorite is the Progressive foundry but it took time to adjust the settings, at first the sound was horrible on my e-kit, but after experimenting for months I found a way to make it sound great with the EQs, I learned everything on my own

    I don't even know the difference between EZdrummer and Superior Drummer, but I'm going to have to learn really quick because my new neighbors have been calling the cops as soon as I sit down at my kit. I'm not any good at drums, really, so it will probably better to go digital anyway. These plugins have come a long way. Sounds really good.

    Sounds so good! Besides rock, which I'm recording now, I can see a couple of the kits being nice for synth pop, and blues rock. I can see the percussion kit being handy for Latin or ambient music.

    I'm probably going to get a new SDX add on this month, so in your opinion Jay, Fields of Rock, or Rooms of Hansa?

    • @FernandoLobo
      @FernandoLobo 2 года назад +1

      both are pretty cool, the rooms of hansa are pretty unique, the rooms sound very particular, in a good way. But i think the fields of rock can cover more ground. BTW i am a fan, got all the EZ DRUMMER and Superior expansions.

    • @scouserEFC81

      Hansa is cool, but is probably my least favourite sdx. The rooms are very unique and you can’t really avoid that or limit it, you can always hear it. I don’t own fields of rock but I’m also thinking about a new sdx and I’m tossing up between the bob rock sdx or this. But from the toontrack trailer I think the chrome kit is the only one that jumps out at me.

    • @FernandoLobo
      @FernandoLobo 2 года назад

      @@scouserEFC81 Yeah, hansa is great, but the rooms are very particular. Which is great, a different tone. I would go with fields of rock, sound better and its a little bit cleaner. The bob rock its fantastic for hard rock and just...grit, but it has a harsh sound ( not in a bad way ). It sits very well on a strong rock track, but its not a SDX i would use for everything, or something i can EQ and do what i want, its lets say, less versatile, or that is my opinion at least.
      Fields of rock has more versatility....the bob rock has 3 or 4 year now i guess, so i guess it would go on sale maybe. But if you want grit, the bob rock gives you that right away.

      The Into The Dark EZX . Here's are quotes from toontrack describing each. 1) Into the Dark "The Into the Dark EZX was recorded by multiple award-winning producer/mixer Tom Dalgety (Ghost, Rammstein, Pixies, Royal Blood) and drummer Mat Hector (Iggy Pop, Gutterdämmerung). It comes with THREE full drum kits as well as a bespoke set of cymbals and extra instruments derived from the Fields of Rock SDX. "
      2) Fields of Rock "The Fields of Rock SDX features SEVEN drum kits and a comprehensive collection of percussion instruments recorded by multiple award-winning engineer/producer/mixer Tom Dalgety (Ghost, Rammstein, Pixies, Royal Blood) and drummer Mat Hector (Iggy Pop, Gutterdämmerung). It was captured at Rockfield, the Welsh dairy farm-turned-into-studio that ended up leaving colossal footprints in its now-fifty-year-long path through music history.
      This unlikely studio, to which bands like Queen, Rush, Judas Priest, Hawkwind and many of ...."

    I don't know what's wrong with that expansion, there are saturated high frequencies ruining the sound, it improved a bit after spending a lot of time with the EQ but it still sounds too bad on my e-drum to enjoy playing with these kits

    • @Martin_Bernard

      After struggling a lot I finally succeeded using EQ on each drums / cymbals + an EQ on the Out channel to add a bit of bass, it now sounds great on my e-kit

    Hey ! Nice one here ! Great review !
    I am hesitating to purchase this one right now... I already have a lot of expansions (and not a lot of money ^^') and I mostly use the D&D expansion with some Rock Foundry (Yamaha KICKKKKKKK !) and sometimes, Prog Foundry (but not a fan of the little ambiance room mics, lack of volume in the mix when trying to mix the expansions).
    I need an expansion I am solely using for my drumming and stuff. It is quite complicated to mix a snare from an expansion with a kit from another and cymbals from another one. The rooms are very important for the mixing process and sometimes, some do not work well together and stacking make some horrible sound with different libraries (Prog and D&D DO NOT go well together especially with snares and rimshots)
    Is it possible for you to show us all the snares, toms, cymbals and articulations/velocities with just close mics ? As raw as possible.
    I am pretty much curious about the rimshots, I need to know if they are better than D&D. I was a bit disappointed with the Death snares, pretty much all the same with low variations between small and hard hits... I am still looking for my perfect snare. The cymbals are very "crashy", tilting my ears a bit (I usually EQ around 15-20k and cut in the OH). Here, the sound very smooth and present. Toms and Kicks do not have too much low end covering the entire mix. They seem clear and punchy. So I need you here to help if you can ^^
    It would be a pleasure and an honor. But I guess you already won a subscriber here.
    Thanks a lot !

    I love when all these other band names are a hyped.
    I have no idea who the heck any of these bands are that says how popular successfully they are not compared to the legendary iconic bands like queen etc. etc.
