The Villa Vie sounds like a scam and unprofessionally run. And why do they require a NDA unless they knew there were going to be problems and don't want customers complaining about it. Everything smells fishy here! All those passengers should file a class action against that cruise-line instead of ratting out others who are voicing their opinions on what is happening.
The contract says people have to sue individually, no class actions. Obviously that makes it very expensive because lawyers don't want to take the case on a % basis rather than charging hourly fees because they can't make enough based on just what 1 person has paid
Right, you'd think cruise ships, particularly some of the most expensive cabins on said ship would actively look to torpedo any NDA's since it'd limit the free advertising that'd come with people discussing and promoting their product (assuming it's good).
It sounds as if this customer’s complaints are legitimate. If what she says to other people in a private conversation is TRUE the cruise ship has no business cancelling her reservation!

In general, not only about this specific situation,Don.. but in general, there is no such thing as free speech anymore. Your speech has to be in line for the most part with everyone, their beliefs and what their thoughts are and if it’s not, it’s either hate speech or not acceptable, even if it’s not hate speech and even if in most situations, it would be acceptable that if someone wants to find a reason to shut you up they will, and for the most part can easily do so by saying they are offended just my opinion
I kinda think anyone who gave them their money are fools. These projects of putting together a residence cruise haven’t been very successful. It amazes me that someone would sell their whole life for that without them even having a ship that can sail.
There are at least 2 couples on RUclips who have been defending the company. I wonder what kind of benefits or threats they have received from the company. I would Not😢buy into a 35 year old ship to cross the oceans
The Relentlessly Positive Couple were upgraded by the company from the windowless inside cabin they had purchased on the lowest floor to a window cabin a bit higher up when their vlog became popular and they exclusively said positive things about the company and glossed over/didn't give true answers in replies to people's comments. For quite awhile they have been deleting any comments with negative facts about the company (they didn't delete negative speculation without any facts). They have loosened up since they returned to the US and weren't having their accommodation paid for anymore and now sometimes leave the facts others post. They also have a link on their vlog for you to buy a segment (ka-ching!). The other couple are Positive But Occasionally Express Some Doubts. They were more honest and balanced and they haven't gotten upgrades nor sold segments and they didn't delete negative facts UNTIL the night of the day when the media reports came out about the kicked off passengers. That night/early the next morning they did a HUGE house cleaning for the first time and deleted a ton of comments to where each comment no longer had a long chain of others' comments, all that was left was 1 Reply and that Reply was exclusively from them. I don't know, but it somewhat appeared as if they might have gotten into trouble.
What is the question? She signed a contract. If they aren’t kicking her off because she belongs to a “protected class“, they can kick off anybody they want to. She can pursue any remedies in court. If the company had any sense, they’d give her a full refund and send her on her way. What she had to do, sell etc. To go on the cruise does not matter at all. It’s merely sympathy harvesting. Except for them, trying to keep a deposit or any of your money, why would you want to go on a cruise that has already told you they don’t want you? Now, every single little thing that happens on board, she’ll likely blame on them, singling her out and doing it to just her. Of course it’s ridiculous that the cruise has been delayed several months. Rational adults would’ve demanded their money back and gotten on with their life sometime ago.
I was not there so,I have no idea in what tone or manner the complaint was given. It is a she said they said, she took the risk of booking an unknown start date and unknown company cruise has to take some blame. I would have been pulling out long before this happened.
An unknown start date? The company said they were launching May 15 and told everyone to come to Southampton (when the ship was soooo far from being ready). Then they told everyone it was going to launch May 30 instead from Belfast, everyone come (when the ship at that point was even further from being ready).
If her comments broke the nondisclosure agreement, shouldn't all comments, even good ones, be considered in the same nondisclosure agreement? I'm not a lawyer, just asking.
Hopefully there is an attorney out there that will take this on a contingency! They could also be set up for a class action lawsuit….. are they not in breech of contract? They sold a trip without a safe ship..
@@JennyatSeagood luck to you Jenny! I hope you and Bonnie get your money and belongings back. It’s a shame you didn’t get what you signed up for and even worse they are withholding your money and things.

Your take on it was humorous & it started me watching you. You know which tape that was ? Would love to hear, see it again.
From what I've read, it wasn't asking questions. It was a constant stream of complaints about the cruise line. Also, it wasn't strictly other cruise members. Allegedly, there were people who were not on the cruise who were included.
A Founder (resident who also invested $ in the company) actually posted that it was residents on the WhatsApp that reported her to them. So residents ratting on other residents. Great atmosphere.
HI, this is Jenny and I can answer that for you. Yes, over the 3 months I was waiting actually in Belfast or Europe in general to stay close, We ALL voiced many "complaints" or concerns, questions or opinions . My posts were strictly contained to a private resident only WhatsApp chat or many months ago we used to post in "Circle" which is a company run app, it had been a long time since I personally posted in that app. I never posted in any public forum and you had to be vetted as a paid resident to join either of those 2 chats. Hope that helps.
The story of this ship was all over the British media a few weeks ago. The stories focused on one American woman who had been staying in Belfast for months after relocating there with her cat. Residents were allowed on board and could enjoy the facilities and participate in activities during the day but weren't allowed to sleep on board until the ship had been signed off as seaworthy. When asked if she would complain or claim compensation, the woman pointed out that many of the residents were shareholders in the company so there seemed little point. She explained that a delay of a few months seemed a price worth paying because the residents' contracts allowed them to live on board for the remaining life of the ship which they anticipated to be about 15 years. I did wonder how typical she was of the people who'd handed over significant amounts of money after selling their property at home.
Not very typical as she's one of the Founders (residents who also invested $ and own shares in the company) and she said she would have gone on The World but she has a cat. The World requires you to have a minimum of $10million in assets before they would consider you becoming a resident. I was surprised at those early stories started by the BBC who only interviewed people with strong biases in favor of the company which is fine except the BBC didn't bother to mention how those interviewees were incentivized by the company and/or cruise.
We can understand the frustration of that passenger. But if you sign a NDA, that's legally binding. Hopefully she gets her 30K back and can find a cruise that she likes.
There has been a rotating series of reasons and back in July they were always told as soon as "x" was resolved they could move in tomorrow, move in in 2 days, etc so several times they lost their land accommodations because they cancelled because they were supposed to stay on the ship. First it was "the insurance isn't in place yet" then it was but "there's a 2 day notice period with the insurance before you can move in" then there "was an issue with the fire doors" and that was delayed in getting fixed but when it was fixed it became "we have to have Bahamian flag signoff first " (the ship is registered in the Bahamas), then and continuing to today it's that "the ship has to be certified first ". Quite clear the company can't manage a project plan and doesn't know what the requirements are so they ping pong from 1 thing to the next.
@@michellejessey8654 my point is this, if every member of the app group also signed nda’s, discussed everything in that group and only she was kicked out, then their actions are questionable at best, retaliatory at worst. But I’m no lawyer either so what do I know, not much.

I don't blame her!
Sounds like a big scam to me. You say you're going to sail and then don't. That's outright fraud.
Wait, they have not actually provided a service. I think they are ripping her off!
Thank you, looking for one now
@@JennyatSeagood luck to you Jenny! I hope you and Bonnie get your money and belongings back. It’s a shame you didn’t get what you signed up for and even worse they are withholding your money and things.
Sounds like that cruise is not going to happen. Stick with the reputable cruise lines.
I can’t even imagine…. I would be upset after spending that amount of money with nothing to show for it..and multiple delays.
I would never consider one of these type of deals. They just seem too sketchy.
First, does she have insurance? I am very sorry these people basically have nowhere to live, and the residence you paid for is still not ready. I would complain too!
Nothing to do about today's topic. When I 1st watched 1 of your videos you spoke of someone who got really upset when a person drove their car onto their front yard , didn't matter the person was having a heart attack, a health issue. Your take on it was humorous & it started me watching you. You know which tape that was ? Would love to hear, see it again.
I'd be upset if I sold my house to go on a 3.5 year cruise as well. I would be carful when complaining though!
On a different note-love the tshirt. Rock and roll hall of fame. My home town, cleveland ohio!! Live in az now but always a fond memory of my hometown
I am curious to read that non-disclosure. Very strange situation.
Its only if negative. If positive they let u say whatever
Will be published and commented on by attorneys
We can understand the frustration of that passenger. But if you sign a NDA, that's legally binding. Hopefully she gets her 30K back and can find a cruise that she likes.
Why can they not stay aboard the Villa Vie instead of staying in hotels?
Need insurance after all inspections are signed off on
They will lose a lawsuit unless they also kick out every member in her WhatsApp group too.
@@OkieDokie680 they are daring her to sue
@@michellejessey8654 my point is this, if every member of the app group also signed nda’s, discussed everything in that group and only she was kicked out, then their actions are questionable at best, retaliatory at worst. But I’m no lawyer either so what do I know, not much.
They need to just cancel the whole thing and start the booking again and just get another start date and give discounts to people how were booked on the original sailing then they can choose if they still want to go on it or not
Is it true that that other residence cruise ship that went bankrupt is the same people different company name that’s is responsible for Villa Vie Odyssey?
Yes
