It's the weight distribution. Porsche's engine is literally at the back which gives it the best launch possible, while the GTR is a little bit front heavy and overall a heavier car than the porsche.

Point to note the gtr had launch control set at 3000 rpm at safe setting by tuner prior to the races. only realised afterwards. Same as porsche had button turned off in one of the races. Both awesome cars 🔥🔥

I had a 666bhp GTR. Now I have a standard 991.2 turbos S. The turbo S is by far the quicker car so I believe the GTR in this video is circa 700bhp.
After the first race, knowing how good lunch system is on Turbo S, I was like "damn... GTR has some awesome system as well!"... then second race came on! gg

Not really its just the Porshe is much faster stock for stock and is nearly 300lbs lighter the 700 hp on the GTR is probly to the crank not wheels..if it's 700 to the wheels then hey I agree with you

Too funny. Pushing the sport response button on the 911 turbo S actually makes it into a tuned 700 plus BHP beast. At least that’s how it feels when I push it on mine. I’m pretty sure tuning it is just like leaving the sport response button on. Although mine isn’t tuned so I wouldn’t know. However mine is a convertible with the aero kit which looks badass. The one in the video looks good too. Love the contrast between the paint and too colors.

Honestly I as an Asian have a respect for the GTR but the Porsche racing heritage and timeless design has won me over with my long gone 2005 Boxster S. It was still a beauty and head turner in the beautiful California. I'd like to own a Porsche 911 some day though

GTR Was handicapped by MICHELIN 4S TYRES. They suck at the dragstrip, 700hp gtr needs stock dunlops or r888r, put those on and try again, guarantee gtr will win all races....

Alot of people dont realise that a stock turbo s runs very low 10 seconds. The quickest stock turbo s I've seen was 10.2 seconds on the quarter mile.
And now imagine the latest 992 Model...i bet it will be a flat 10s or even short below :O

tuned GTR is cheating. that button in Porsche is sport chrono pack option and in turbo S is standard feature

It is not a cheat mode button, its a overboost button installed by factory. Most all Gen Porsches have this button.
BTW, no need to use the button, all she had to do was: turn dial to Sports Plus and the car would do the rest.
However, perhaps due to less ideal surface, she opted to use the overboost button right after launch. Its easier to push the button vs turning a dial in the middle of a race. A smart racer would gauge surface and opt to engage sports plus off the line if surface bite is good. Otherwise, launch on regular mode, then soon after car leaves, push button which is essentially sport plus.

Stock 991.2 turbo s runs 10.3 quarter mile
and stock GTR runs a solid 11 to 11.1 in 1/4. It's rare to see them running 10.9 stock.

2. Not the same weight ( Porche = 3537 lbs vs GTR = 3911 lbs)
3. GTR had lunch-control OFF.
4. Factory speed for both = 0.60 in 2.6 secs.

If you're talking about the current one, then yes it's got more leather inside. However you're also paying double the price compared to the launch edition R35 back then. The one that was used in this vid, which is the first facelift version. Still the best priced R35 ever, as this version used a better version of dual clutch transmission. Although Nissan still warn you that warranty will automatically be void if there's a record of launch control has been used in the ecu.
@@arapaimagold8088 I think you meant the first gen warranty. On the second gen called DBA Nissan changed the transmission. Now you can't launch without first turning launch control on first. This way you could launch the car without warranty being voided. Still if you fuck up your transmission you can get it fixed. PDK is not allowed to be opened and you must buy a new one from Porsche. 20k is the price. This is why I'm getting a gtr and not a 997 Porsche.

I think the GTR launched way too early in the first go. The 911 was early on the second go, but not as much as the GTR on the first. Third race was perfect, both cars. I wonder what would happen if they tuned the Porsche too. It would make things way worse for the Nissan, but more fair for the Porsche.
Don't need to tune a Turbo S, just try with the 992 latest Model 2021...it will smoke the Nissan even harder.

You don't see the footage till you edit the video. We did three races and I think it's obvious the 911 Turbo S won quite easily once the sports button was engaged. However without the sport button it was fairly close.

Even if it was used, it cannot beat the launch control of the 911. The Turbo S usually smashes every car that takes part with it in a drag race. The GT-R is useless next to the Porsche and its launch control requires expensive service after 2-3 uses, while in the Porsche it never fades even after 50 launches.

Here you go I've been drag racing and road racing for 25 years as a hobby. Since that video was a drag video here is my daily driven drag car. Just a couple pics to get things rolling. It's an actual 865HP at the rubber and 1020 BHP at the crank with AWD and full Quaife running gear. It was tuned and dynoed on a Mustang loaded AWD dyno. Best ET is 9.25 @ 172 MPH. Keep throwing the insults and I will keep showing the shut downs.

A tuner car is not like a factory car at this level either. You might be getting heat soak of your intake (intercoolers maybe) which will reduce power.
The Porsche should maintain full consistency, it seemed to pull much better in the last 2 races, but the GTR was making more power on the first run.
