*Good is the enemy of great* I just discovered your channel. You save us so much reading certain books that have so much fluff rather than practical advice. thank you very much!
Love that you present concepts so clearly, and get right to the point. Other RUclipsrs ramble on, and it can be such a bore. level 5 level of leadership : level 1 - highly effective individual level 2 - contributing team member level 3 - competent manager level 4 - an effective leader level 5 - executive (will and humility, super ambitious for their team to excel and built successor, share praise and take the blame, normal people and come from within)
Keep it going man. Your emails are something I always look forward to. Because of your summary on the miracle morning I started running months ago and now I am the healthiest I've ever been and have 10x better days! Thank you.
This is one of the most valuable RUclips channels I have ever come across. thank you for this. I wish I had discovered it earlier in my MBA journey! :-)
"Good to Great" is still my favorite as a successful business conclusion as a whole. But for Leadership "Leaders eat Last" from Simon Sinek is more essential and a must read for everyone who wants to be a Leader of a startup or company. Everything and every business starts with trust in the first place. In "Good to Great" this essential and most powerful item comes too short.
It is a good read... one key challenge now a days is the dynamics of the market (as opposed to the 80s-90s) and how those highlighted companies are not what they used to be. So translating/applying those key concepts are not the only thing that will enable transformation.
Good is the enemy of great. And that is one of the key reasons why we have so little that becomes great. We don't have great schools, principally because we have good schools. We don't have great government, principally because we have good government. Few people attain great lives, in large part because it is just so easy to settle for a good life.
I've read and re-read this book - it's outstanding! Very well presented, thank you. The hedgehog mentality is so rarely implemented by leaders I've worked with. Then again, they weren't level 5 leaders ;)
First video I see, and you already have my full attention. THANK YOU for the love, care, time and knowledge you put into making every single video ... BRAVO !!!
Thanks so much! I learn a lot from your videos and it really saves me the trouble of having to make each new concept I want to learn into a multi week project.
This one is literally sitting on my night stand to be read. I am still hoping to put out my own video on it before the end of the year. Great content! Thanks for sharing! 👍✋
I've read the book and while a little dated (sorry Wells Fargo) it's a great read. Highly recommend the book. And this video and the 1-page summary were a great synopsis. Thanks!
Thank you very much. I have been waiting for your video on this book. I have read the book but your video makes it clearer. Well done and keep it up. You are the best. Have you done video on 7 habits of highly effective People?
Great companies need to be judged on better criteria than the ability to turn a profit. They need to be judged on the positive contributions they offer towards bettering our society.
Profit is a by-product from a well run operation. A well run operation is subjective. To some real time off is more of factor and to others money may be their motivation at that point and time in their lives.
I totally disagree on the concept of where the people sit on the bus. Without the back end people solving the companies’ problems, the company would have died at birth long ago. Too much hype placed on the so called stereotypical frontline Star Performers. Just like the society places too much hype on extroverts. There are star performers everywhere, not limited in whether they are frontline or backend employees. Not limited in whether the person is extrovert or introvert. In every kind of job, the person who does his work to the best of his abilities and exceeded expectations, while being humble, is a star performer and deserves one of the best front seats of the bus.
These are terrific videos, I love them. I always learn something new. Thank you! They'd be close to perfect if you could S L O W D O W N your narration; sometimes I have trouble understanding what you've said coz it's like you've "gobbled" the words in case they disappear before you've eaten them. Do you have a time limit? Or is this simply a habit?
I stopped listening as soon as he mentioned Wells Fargo. Wells Fargo ripped off customers and paid the price for it twice in two different class action lawsuits.
the ideas may be useful, but god damn, stop it with the names. every author of such books always has to invent new dumb names or fucking acronyms. if the idea is good, people won't need any stupid "hedgehogs" to remember it.

I find the pace of these videos comfortable but try slowing down the playback speed and see if that helps.
I have it on 2x playback speed... Can't you adjust it yourself?

Agree, more likely I will forget what the idea was about and will be thinking of hedgehog LOL.
