      It was great honor for Mary to be selected by God as the mother of Jesus. We are told to pray to the Father and the Holy Spirit intercedes with groanings on our behalf. No other means are necessary to pray to God. Mary was chosen, and it was a great honor for her and the Jewish people. Praying to her is a needless waste of time and effort. Kneeling to Mary's statue and kissing it is actually breaking one of the ten commandments. (Graven image). Scripture backs up these things.@@SonicSnakeRecords

    you say : "Not everything is in the Bible". To then talk about in vitro fertilization is just rubbish. Does sacred tradition talk about in vitro fertilization? Non Roman Catholics do not claim everything we need to know is in the Bible. They say everything we need to know about Christian faith and doctrine is in the Bible.
    Your argument has more holes that a sieve.

    • @DivineMercy_Official
      @DivineMercy_Official  3 года назад +2

      Dear Garry, sorry but you missed the point. In vitro fertilization is not covered by Sacred Tradition.... but what does talk about in virtro fertilization? The Church. So our faith is based on the same three legs as the Jewish faith: scripture, Tradition, and the Magisterium. They knew you needed all three. Jesus talked about faith and morals, not just faith. So how do we address that? Every moral issue is covered in one of those three legs and that is why we need all three. Dogma, like Jesus being the Son of God, is covered in Scripture. The role of the priesthood as instituted by Christ is developed through Sacred Apostolic Tradition. And moral issues such as birth control, AI, in vitro (which are critical to living as a Christian and it is absurd to say it isn't and impossible to say it is in the Bible), is addressed by the Church because it wasn't addressed by the Bible nor by Sacred Tradition. So no, the argument is based on logic. Sorry you missed it. God bless.

    I'm confused... the Assumption (if it did happen) would have been an event like the physical assumption of our Lord forty days after His resurrection. Supernatural and astounding. Why then do we not have a single narrative of this event by the apostles or anyone during that time?
    Also, why would Jesus entrust the care of His mother to John His apostle at the foot of the cross, when He knew Mary would not be around for too long after He resurrected?
    Just saying....

    • @DivineMercy_Official

    Another video making Mary an idol. Just like the brazen serpent Moses had made that ended up being worshipped during Hezekiahs reign, it was smashed to pieces because it became a source of idolatry. It's amazing to me that Catholics always make Mary to be more important than Jesus. They light candles, burn incense, pray, kiss statues, all for Mary. Did not Jesus say ..John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. NOT MARY.

    • @DivineMercy_Official
      @DivineMercy_Official  3 года назад +2

      Dear Judo, please refrain from stating what Catholics teach and believe when it is clear you don't know. God commanded Moses to carve the serpent for the people to gaze upon to be healed. Why would God command that? Because they were not worshipping it. God used it as an instrument in the same way he commanded cherubim to be carved for the Ark of the Covenant. Images and statues are not prohibited by God - they are throughout scripture. Do you call a Nativity scene evil? Or that picture of your family on your desk? That is a graven image. The difference, hopefully, is that you don't worship the glass and the frame. It reminds you of your family and helps you to recall them. The same is done with religious statues. They are not worshipped. Please don't stated what we do when you don't know. Thank you. Also, please show in Catholic teaching and writings were Mary is taught to be more important than Jesus. That statement is quite uninformed. As for candles and incense, etc... have you read the book of Revelation? Do you know what it is about? It isn't about the Rapture or Anti-Christ. But what you will find is the exact same way of worship as the Catholic Mass. God bless. ruclips.net/video/06mgry1cPf4/видео.html

    Are Marian Dogmas Biblical?
    Consider Lk. 1:28, “And he came to her and said, “Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with you.”, one can say with certainty that Mary is full of grace. The graces God fully bestows on her are not one, two, three, or many graces but full; so full that if these graces were to be added up, they would be equaled to “the Lord is with you (her).” These graces, to name but a few, have been identified by the Catholic Church as: To be the Mother of God; to be perpetual virgin in her virginal conception of Christ, in giving birth to Christ, and her continuing virginity after His birth; to be conceived without original sin; and to be assumed body and soul into heaven, and all other graces. In short, if there is a grace that the Lord did not bestow onto Mary, she would not be full of grace. Thus, the Assumption of Mary and all other Marian dogmas are biblical for their basis lies in Luke 1:28. By proclaiming these dogmas, all that the Catholic Church did was to make known to the world, especially the faithful the graces the Lord himself bestowed on Mary. Besides these dogmas, there are many other graces or great things which the Lord has bestowed on Mary, Lk. 1:49, “for he who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is his name.” and these can be found in the Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

    The Bible says ALL have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Mary is part of all. Only Christ who is 100% God and 100% man has not sinned. I really have trouble with this doctrine of a sinless Mary. The blood of the mother and child don't mix so Mary would not have to be sinless for Jesus to be sinless. If Mary was sinless wouldn't her mother have to be sinless and so on? The doctrine doesn't make sense to me. I am trying to become a Catholic but this one is the biggest stumbling block for me.

      Thank you but did you study Greek and Hebrew, the language of the original scriptures? The word used is different.And regarding Mary having sin or not, in Genesis 3:15, both Jesus and Mary are said to be in a state of "enmity" against the serpent, which in the original Hebrew means "complete and radical opposition" to Satan. It is for this reason that it is not likely that God would have permitted Mary to inherit the condition of "original sin" from Adam and Eve. Any participation by her in the disorder and corruption of the soul that the rest of us inherit from Adam and Eve would place the Mother of Jesus at least partially under the sway of Satan and evil, and thereby contradict the complete "enmity" between Mary and Satan prophesied in Genesis 3. She still needed a savior to preserve her from sin in the first place because Jesus could not have co-existed with sin in the womb of a woman who had any sin.

    • @pauld3298
      @pauld3298 5 месяцев назад

      @@DivineMercy_Official Friend thank you for your reply. As you eluded, the enmity was put between the seed of the woman (Jesus) and the serpent (satan). This was a prophecy of Christ's 1st coming and victory. Although the devil struck the heal of Jesus via the crucifixion, Jesus crushed the devils head by His Resurrection. I know some refer to Mary as the 2nd Eve but that doesn't make sense to me either given that Christ is the second Adam and Mary was his Mother (not his wife). Hebrew and Greek are readily available if I need to look up an original word. Please tell me what word you are saying is different? Once forgiven by God for our sins we become sinless in His eyes. However, it is not by our efforts nor was it by Mary's. I will gladly concede that once Mary obtained righteousness by faith (Be it unto me as you have said...) that she was forgiven for all her sins. But the theology that she was born sinless is against many other verses even though Pope Pius IX declared it in 1854. You said "it is not likely" but that does not prevent it from being possible. If Mary was born with sin that does not correlate to Jesus being infected by iniquity. Many other versus refer to the "iniquity of the fathers". With Jesus's Father being God he had no iniquity.

    “For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus.” 1Timothy 2:5.
    Mary the mother of Jesus is NOT an interceder or mediator to God only Jesus is the Bible is very clear regarding that and nowhere does the Bible tell us to pray to her or pray the rosary, Scripture is clear about praying to the dead, praying to the dead is strictly forbidden in the Bible. Deuteronomy 18:11 Nowhere in the Bible are we told this false doctrine which is heresy. Mary continued to have children … “Isn’t this the carpenter? Isn’t this Mary’s son and the brother of James, Joseph, Judas and Simon? Aren’t his sisters here with us?” And they took offense at him. Mark 6:3. Mary needed a saver like ALL humanity… “and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, Luke 1:4, Mary was not sinless and had her sins forgiven at the cross “It is Finished” …John 19:30. Hebrews 12:2 “looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God”.
    "John 19:26-27 When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to her, “Woman here is your son,” 27 and to the disciple, “Here is your mother.” From that time on, this disciple took her into his home." Take note Jesus called his mother "WOMAN"...WHY DO YOU THINK? MAYBE SO THE WORLD WOULD NOT CALL HER THE MOTHER OF God?? Idolatry the worship of someone or something other than God as though it were God. The first of the biblical Ten Commandments prohibits idolatry: “You shall have no other gods before me. Idolatry the worship of someone or something other than God as though it were God. The first of the biblical Ten Commandments prohibits idolatry: “ Read your Bible. “For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, 2 Timothy 4:3

      Yes, Jesus is the only way to the Father. Mary doesn't lead us to the Father. She leads us to Jesus. Andrew brought Peter to Jesus. Philip brought Nathanael to Jesus. That is a form of mediation. In proclaiming Christ the one mediator (cf. I Tim 2:5-6), the text of St. Paul's Letter to Timothy excludes any other parallel mediation, but not subordinate mediation. In fact, before emphasizing the one exclusive mediation of Christ, he urges "that supplications, prayers, intercessions and thanksgivings be made for all men" (2:1). If subordinate mediation is not allowed, please don’t ask anyone to pray for you because prayers are a form of mediation. Moreover, the Greek word used for "one" that St. Paul used here in I Tim 2:5-6 in the phrase "one mediator" is not monos, which would mean "sole," but eis, which can mean "one" in the sense of "principal," or "first in a series." Jesus is the principal Mediator who enables many other sub-mediators to transmit the grace of God to others. Again, faithful Christians act as sub-mediators in Christ when they pray for their neighbors, share the Gospel with the lost, and serve the poor. The Bible says that our growth in faith and holiness is aided by the intercessions of the other members of the Body of Christ (Eph 6:18; I Thess 3:11-13; I Tim 2:1-4), and there’s no better intercession than that of Jesus’ own mother. Jesus comes from the line of David an in the Davidic Kingdom the role of the Queen Mother was important (1Kings2:19). Read about how she had the function of "counselor" to the king in regards to all matters. God blesss.

    Hold up if we aren't using the bible to decide what hqppened during jesus' time what are we using? And if we are using church traditions of that time why isnt the gospel of Thomas seen as acceptable to follow. If we are to trust this story coming from Thomas why wouldnt we include his gospel in the bible. What makes this theory infallible (only starting in the 50s) but his gospel heretical? Lastly if she was taken into heaven why is it that no one near her (especially John) saw her but Thomas who was in India did? And why wouldnt he have written about it in his gospel?

    Where is Saint Thomas's account of the tomb being empty recorded? Is it in the bible? That is the only argument that you used here, that could lead me to believe that maybe this is true. All your other arguments are based on man made doctrine. God does not care about man made doctrine or what we believe "only makes sense". How can you prove that Mary was born without original sin? That is not in the bible either. Jesus is the only one born without sin and he is the only one that lived without sin. We know this to be true, because the bible does tell us that. Mary was highly favored by God and she is blessed among women, but she was/is not a deity. I don't believe that we should pray to her. We do not need the intercession of Mary or the saints, because Jesus was the intercessor!!! That is what he came here for. (No one shall come to the father, EXCEPT through me.) Devotion to Mary takes the focus off our one true savior, Jesus Christ! You have not convinced me. (Respectfully, from one that is truly seeking the truth on this matter.)

      Regarding Mary having sin or not, in Genesis 3, both Jesus and Mary are said to be in a state of "enmity" against the serpent, which in the original Hebrew means "complete and radical opposition" to Satan.

There's an unbroken line in the Papacy that goes directly to Peter. Secondly, please don't state falsities about Catholic teaching. It’s part of satan’s stronghold of pride to use over us, so our souls will remain in jeopardy.

    The appeal to Revelation 12 is really quite bad. It was not held among the early Christians or church fathers that the "woman" in Revelation was Mary, but represented either Israel or the Church. To assert that it refers to Mary and present this as evidence for the Assumption borders upon deception.
    The retort that "not everything in the Bible" is completely insufficient to the question here. The Church of Rome claims that the Assumption MUST be believed for salvation -- it is an essential part of the Gospel. Yet we have no evidence whatsoever that Jesus, the apostles, or the early Church believed or required belief in the Assumption for salvation. THAT is the problem.
    If you want to say "we believe X" and here is why, that is fine. Even, "to be a part of our group, you must believe X" is okay. But belief in the Assumption and its necessity for salvation is clearly a late innovation and found nowhere in the early Church records.

    • @DivineMercy_Official
      @DivineMercy_Official  3 месяца назад +1

      Some say the "woman" is a symbol of Israel and the Church, the New Israel. Yes, she has a crown of 12 stars, symbolizing the 12 tribes of Israel, and the 12 apostles. So which interpretation is correct? Both are correct! The ancient Fathers saw no contradiction
      It was not uncommon in ancient Jewish literature to use a double-symbol: an historical individual used to symbolize a whole group of people. For example, it is quite likely that in Isaiah 53 about the sufferings of the Messiah ("He was despised and rejected of men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief," etc.) is also meant to symbolize the vocation of suffering of the whole people of Israel. They suffered like Jesus! In a similar way, Mary, the Mother of the Church, is used in the book of Revelation to symbolize the fulfillment of the vocation of Israel in the new people of God, the Church. Hope of heaven! The Church made the connection b/n Psalm 132:8 and the mystery of the heavenly woman-ark. "Arise, O Lord, and go to Thy resting place, Thou and the ark of Thy might." After the Lord "arose' from the dead, He took with Him into heavenly glory the true "ark" of the New Covenant, the body of His mother Mary. For just as the ancient Israelites believed that the original ark was made from incorruptible wood, so this passage foreshadows the bodily incorruption given to Mary as new Ark by Her Risen Son.

We get our teaching from the Bible not from the Catholic system. Anyone who is indwelt by the Holy Spirit of Truth knows that the Rock is the fact that Christ is the Son of the Living God. It was revealed to Peter by God the Father that the man standing in front of Him was God manifest in human form, and therefore the Rock which the Old Testament talked about. Should any tradition of man elevate any human being above Christ? Should we worship anyone but God? Doesn’t the Bible speak against the traditions of man? The Apostles written and verbal teachings were of Christ Jesus and God the Father alone, most especially the Apostle Paul. The mother of Christ Jesus lived in the time of the apostles and there has been no written scriptures left for our admonition to lead a Christian of faith in the God of Abraham to elevate Mary to be worshipped or deified.
    The holy scriptures tells us that the Holy Spirit leads all who believe in Christ Jesus and the God of Abraham to all Truth, if they obey God’s laws. The CHURCH is nothing individually or collectively without the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. We love the mother Mary for giving birth to the Christ Jesus as we should. King David, Moses, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Daniel, Ruth, Naomi, etc. all the blessed men and women God chose to carry out his wonderful plan of redemption for sinful humanity. Three further comments. 1) The absence of any given object does not prove its non-existance. SO no Marian relics , in fact, proves nothing. 2) St. Thomas was supposed to have been martyred and buried in India. In which case he could not possibly have arrived wherever Mary died at all.
      An interesting side-light. There is an Italian cathedral which claims to have a forearm bone of St. Thomas. (In fact, it is a HUMERUS, not either forearm bone.) This was made available for study, and proved to be of probable Galilean origin, containing some Druze genes. The Druze only closed their community around 400 AD. So Israelite-Druze intermarriage was possible until then.
      This bone was brought from India; it could be Thomas's bone.

    There is a problem in the ancient Churches of Christendom (and I say this as one who holds an MA in Theology from the Catholic university of America) in taking an undiscriminating view with in regard to Sacred Tradition (such as it is), and allowing into that Sacred Tradition many pious speculations of saints and popes which are either Scripturally, historically or logically problematic, and should not have conferred upon them the sanction of dogmatic imprimatur. The word "dogma" means that which is absolutely certain, and while this video points to possible reasons for believing that Mary was assumed bodily into heaven, it is a matter of which we cannot be certain absent some divine communication which was not revealed in the Word of God. Yes, we may piously believe that she was assumed, we have some passages of Scripture which (or may not) be indicative that such had been the case, but the truth of the matter is that the dormition narratives are nothing more than pious pseudepigrapha dating to post apostolic times, centuries afterward in fact, and therefore have no claim to dogmatic certitude on the part of the faithful.
    I don't know why the Catholics and the Orthodox have to raise every matter of pious belief or theological speculation to an issue of dogmatic certitude. The Trinity, the Incarnation, the Resurrection, these are matters of dogma. Mary's assumption is a matter not spoken of in the Gospel, and while it is licit to hold pious beliefs about the matter, to proclaim as dogma that which cannot possibly be dogma (i.e. known and believed to be certain) places the intelligent and educated amongst us in the position of having to take our thinking caps off to please overly devotional sensibilities in regard to the Mother of God, many of which are flat out heresy, such as the Co-Redemptrix blasphemy, borne out of an excessive devotion to the Virgin Mother, as if she who needed a Savior (Lk 1:47) was a co-Savior along with Christ, such that she herself saved herself!
    These needless doctrinal accretions played no small part in the Protestant revolt against SACRED TRADITION in favor of the simple gospel (with Luther and Calvin's attendent distortions, unfortunately). It is not enough for many Catholics for Mary to be the Mother of God (incarnate), the Mother of the Church, the Mother of the Body of Christ, the Mother of the faithful, to be our most gracious advocate, she has to assume all of Christ's mediatory functions as her own, and displacing Him as the one mediator between God and man (cf. 1 Tim 2:5), she has to be magnified with divine titles such as Co-Redemptrix, she has to be included in Christ's sacrifice as supposedly offering her Son to the Father as a spotless victim at the foot of the cross (intruding her into the redemptive activity of the Trinity itself!), she has to be a Mediatrix of all graces (when the Book of Acts absolutely refutes such a teaching, inasmuch as the apostles neglected Mary's interecession when invoking Christ to heal the sick and raise the dead).
    People whose personalities are shaped by a devotional sensibility should not be trusted with the proclamation of dogmas, because their intellects are clouded by their feelings, and they are not capable of looking outsode of themselves when assessing matters of objective truth, and it is objective truth alone which should constitute the criterion of dogmatic definition.

    Just wanted to say for any Catholic that doesn’t believe that Mary died or that she went into a dormition. Just read munificentissimus deus 20. It says “ the holy fathers and the great doctors, in the homilies and sermons they gave the people on this feast day, did not draw their teaching from the feast itself as from a primary source, but rather they spoke of this doctrine as something already known and accepted by Christ faithful. They presented it more clearly. They offered more profound explanations of its meaning and nature, bringing out into sharper light the fact that this feast shows, not only that the dead body of the blessed Virgin Mary remained incorrupt, but that she gained a triumph out of death, her heavenly glorification after the example of her only begotten son”. This clearly shows that pope pius Xii believed that she died, also Jesus also died on the cross so did Jesus inherit original sin? So the Virgin Mary dying would not mean she was not immaculate.

The bible tells us in Matthew and luke that she gave birth without labor or pain. An angel came down from heaven and said, hail mary full of grace. The angel hailed her, gave her honor. Same with Elizabeth, she was humbled by Mary's presence upon her visit, and stated blessed is the fruit of your womb. Mary stated herself. She is a servent of God and that generations will call her blessed from now on. An angel is a servent of God as well, and we see Angel's doing God's will alot in the bible. Why would mother mary not be also considered capable of this? She is. Mary intercedes for jesus, she wants to bring people to her son. Mary is the new arc of the covenant.
