In my opinion, a retail price difference of 2050€ means that the two watches are not in the same price category. Especially as it is difficult to get a significant discount on the Seamaster Pro.
In the past it wasn’t a problem to get a discount of up to 30% on Omega watches. At least here in Germany this has changed. With popular models, like e.g. Seamaster and Speedmaster, you get often not more than 10% maximum.
I think it's pretty obvious Rolex is positing Tudor as a defensive piece against encroachers like Omega to the Rolex brand. They don't want the public comparing Rolex to other brands. Rolex is supposed to stand alone. With these new in-house movements, etc. to the Tudor brand, I think it's deliberate to position Omega in the market against Tudor and not Rolex. I think that's also why Tudor is priced how it is. If their ploy works and public perception is that Omega and Tudor are competitors (and not Omega/Rolex), it may also force Omega to lower their prices -- even further distancing public perception of Omega vs Rolex.
