Mozart the genius took a simple melody and showed what can be done if you are Mozart. As for Ingrid Haebler's Mozart interpretations , they just can not be equalled, and I have believed this for nearly 60 years. There is that sweet clarity, the sensitive phrasing and a general wholesomeness in her playing whic gladdens my heart to this day. Many thanks for this wonderful post.
Poor Monsieur Duport never thought that he will gain immortality thanks to the variations on his own theme, written by somebody whom he despised. Variation no. 6 is simply breathtaking - how Mozart arrived here from an original theme is a mystery. Many thanks of publishing!
Really enchanting what Meister Mozart has done to this, quite lovely, Minuet. How light and virtuoso Ingrid Haebler glides through the in some spots demanding tempo. Thank you for this listening ... and reading along ... JOY !
I will be practicing this Mozart K.573 song piece for my ATCL Diploma in few years time. Wish me luck with the variation that has all fast running notes 😂😅

Hi Bartje Bartmans. In this easy listening album by the late Paul Mauriat ruclips.net/video/rxudKhKEnF0/видео.html at 29:41 - 32:02 there is a piece listed as "Minuetto". COULD YOU KINDLY TELL ME WHO COMPOSED IT (and when)? I have been searching and searching in RUclips, but cannot find this melody 🤕. Bij voorbaat heel hartelijk dank!
Paul Mauriat composed "Minuetto" in 1975 in the baroque style, this elegant melody became the personification of his musical credo. This I found on Paul Mauriat Festival page on Facebook.
Why did Bach write so many small preludes and fugues? Kinda think of it, why did Beethoven even write his piano concerto #1? That was a waste if you ask me. He should've just went straight to 4.

He's actually quite known for his cello works

This is a great piece of minimalism.
Any comments about Var. II, first 16th note of the second beat?

I think Mozart's piano variations are better than his Sonatas (with a couple exceptions, like the K. 310, K. 576, and K. 457)
...are you joking..?
What about K.331..K.332..K.333...etc.

Great playing, but I do not understand why Mozart even spent his time to write this. No wonder this variation is not popular.
Huh. This is one of my favorite pieces Mozart wrote for piano solo, and I'm not normally a Mozart fan. But to each their own...
I am personally thankful that he did write this
