Always wonder what you detector guys do for a living to afford multiple $1000 machines and $650 sand scoops. I make $36/hr as a union electrician and couldn’t imagine dropping $600+ for a scoop. Heck took me 3 months to convince myself to get a cheap $80 one. Must have a very easy going wife and older or no kids to be able to drop money like that and go out all the time for hours.
naples had a 9 foot storm surge! its all trash. we had a 3 or 4 foot storm surge, that brings up better finds. my hometown, theres great finds on the high sand by the RITZ, nothing in the water there but storm surge crap. They are still finding ENTIRE chunks of furniture on the regular there.. wouldn't doubt entire cars are there waiting to be discovered one day.
Enjoy watching your videos from here in England. Wishing I was in Florida with the beautiful beaches and clear water. You are always so kind and patient with people especially cheeky children who ask for your good finds😆. Like the new hair cut btw. Keep doing what you love. Blessings.
This podcast pretty much shows how people in Florida Respect the Ocean and the Earth !!! I'm no tree hugger ! But Respect the Gift that was Given to You !!!
Liking the new look!!🤙🏼 you look like you just came out of high school 😁 and the slim and trim look adds to the overall stealthiness😎. And the icing on the cake is a NEW TITANIUM SCOOP??? MAN SOMEONE IS REAPING THE BLESSINGS ❤️🙏🏼💯! ALOHA FROM HAWAII 🤙🏼🤙🏼
I love watching your videos! So much fun! When I saw all the sand dollars, I got so excited. I collect sea shells, but there are two things I can't find because I live near the NC beaches. I can never find sand dollars and sharks teeth. Just wondering if you could send some sand dollars to me. If you can't I totally understand! Love your videos.
Those sand dollars were all still alive, so I can't take them out of the water. I don't find too many dead ones. When I do, I'll usually leave it in an area where someone will spot it while walking the beach. They're so dang fragile, that I doubt they'd ever make it in one piece in the mail
Hi Sean, much respect to you, a stand up guy. I had the manticore for a week and working on beach settings. Could you please give me base settings you use for the beach salt water mode. Sure would be a help. Or maybe do a video on how you determine the settings you use for the manticore. Just a thought. God bless
Thanks! I run the Surf and seawater program with the sensitivity at 16. I turn the threshold up until its audible, and noise cancel periodically, especially when I change depths in the water, or the substrate changes from sand to shell
Thank you Sean, very much appreciated. If you ever want to do a skydive I can hook you up or any questions about weight training, photography, roof problems, give me a shout anytime. Keep up the good work, God bless
I’ve been enjoying using your scoops! I mostly use the titanium but when hunting areas that are rocky I’m using the tougher stainless one. Great products!!😎
I heard someone say once that if rich people drop a coin they bend down so fast to pick it up it hits them in the head on the way down 😂 seems like I never find anything in front of expensive hotels. Still try though 🤷♂️
Yea I got one like that from Amazon. Don’t know what these guys do for a living to be able to drop 650 on a secondary scoop. I know he said the company gave him one but a lot of comments say they bought one. That’s a heck of a lot of money for a scoop. More than my detector and cheap scoop combination.
I’m new to this and just received my manticore today and wanted to see what you would recommend for the settings for your the beach and in the water chest deep here in Naples any help would be greatly oh appreciated.
Sand dollars are little disc shaped animals that live on the ocean floor. When they die, they turn white. They're more desirable to collect than sea shells for most people. The numbers are displayed on the screen on my metal detector. Each number corresponds to whatever type of metal I dig. The numbers help identify the target before I dig it
It's cool when you find jewellery amongst other things but the real reason I watch is even though I can swim I'm terrified of water especially the ocean! So when I watch it's almost like im in there with you and get butterflies the whole damn time!
Cool! I don't remember much but I did book report on manatees when I was in high school all I can remember is that they have several sets of teeth through out there life and that they are herbivores that's really cool! Thanks for replying to my message! You just got your self a subscriber.
Yes and no. There's detectorists that hit the popular areas every day. Those areas are usually pretty well picked over. If you find a washed out area in a section of beach that doesn't get detectorists, you can do very well!
Jesus a titanium scoop!!! A regular stainless one runs 60-180. That’s probably a $300 scoop without the shaft. Add in the carbon fiber shaft and that’s a $500 sand scoop. I just don’t understand where people get that kind of money for a hobby. You have probably $4-5000 worth of detectors. What do you do for a living to afford that much time at the beaches and all that equipment?
Holy crap I was close but man you can tell these were expensive by the fact the price is hidden u till checkout. $650 scoop + shipping!!! Reminded me of the old saying. “ If you have to ask the price you can’t afford it”.
I'm a tool and die maker by trade. I'm very passionate about the hobby, so I just save until I'm in a comfortable position to purchase the gear I need. One good ring could potentially pay for each piece of equipment, so I'd hate to miss that ring because of inferior equipment! As far as time goes, I really don't have as much free time as I'd like. I'm single, so that REALLY helps not to have someone complaining whenever I go to the beach! 😂
as a reasonably happily married man of 32 years..... i feel comfortable telling you shawn that you look MUCH better with your hair in a more normative posture!!! lolol
Great finds. Love the hair cut, you look very handsome with that style.
Thank you!
I like the new hair style, looks good
Fun finds - nice new scoop 😊
Niiiice haircut! Congrats on the finds, thanks for taking us on your hunt.
The new scoop looks like a beast
Didn't recognize you with that new do, great to see your ears!
It's soo nice to not have my hair blowing in my face while I'm out there!
I am glad to are ok from the Hurricane Idaila. Love the new look! Have a blessed week and take care.
Thank you!! You never know what a hurricane will do until it's right at your doorstep. We were lucky!
Your hair looks great ❤
Thank you!
That was a good test hunt for the Xtreme scoop. Caught a bracelet and two small rings. Speaks well for the scoop. Thanks for bringing us along.
Good looking haircut Shawn. That scoop looks awesome. 😮
Thanks! That scoop is really nice to use!
Good hunt and you’ve already mastered the Extreme scoop! Love the bracelet. Nice haircut!
Love the haircut! I really enjoy your videos. I'm kind of bummed I finally caught up on them! Keep up the good work!

Great video! Thanks for sharing
Love the new doo!!!
Another will produced video. I use the titanium Xtreme scoop as well. Love it. The haircut will be much appreciated here in the Florida Sun.

@@diemaschine2287 I was thinking the same thing. I'm probably going to make one out of some aluminum pipe.
I love your haircut. I need a new scoop, not sure I can handle the price tag of the extreme…we shall see. Today’s hunt was great.
Thank you!! The Extreme is definitely pricy, but it's awesome!!
Enjoyed the video , nice finds.
A 3 Silver day & love the short hair. Looks great 👍
Thank you!
Looking good with the fresh cut 😜
AwesoMe video today
Thanks Roz!

There's SO much hurricane debris out there. It's gonna take a long time to get it all out :(
Great finds and a great new haircut!
Nice bracelet and rings. Always exciting to find jewelry. That's a nice scoop!
You look so much cooler with the cut, you look like a baby❣️👶
Be safe☮️😎.
Haha It definitely feels a lot better out in the hot sun with shorter hair!

The new do looks good on you! I said the other day…my machines don’t know what silver is…same day…silvers.
I still like gold better! 😜
Nice finds! That new scoop looks like an awesome diggin' machine!
It's great!!!

You’re going to enjoy using that scoop! Liked to hunt with y’all on my next visit to Clearwater area.
I like it so far!
Always a good day at the beach! Good job. Haircut looks nice. Copper is super valuable up here in New York State!
Thank you!
Nice hair cut, suits you sir 😊
Thank you!
Nice score, all ‘round! You’ve got great friends out there, cherish them! 😊
Thank you! I'm lucky to have such great friends!

They release a lot of dragon flies!! To take care of the Miskitos
Damn bro John hooked you up! That is a hell of a scoop! Enjoy getting all that gold with it... Nothing's going to get past that design. 🏴☠️
Its a nice piece of equipment for sure!
Awesome
I’ve been enjoying using your scoops! I mostly use the titanium but when hunting areas that are rocky I’m using the tougher stainless one. Great products!!😎
Thanks again John!
I heard someone say once that if rich people drop a coin they bend down so fast to pick it up it hits them in the head on the way down 😂 seems like I never find anything in front of expensive hotels. Still try though 🤷♂️
Its really hit or miss. You have to count on sand erosion if you're in a low traffic area.
That's one of my favorite spots to hunt... got a gold 10k ring and a 18k bracelet there Thursday. 🧲(((💍💍📿🏖️ Happy hunting!
Dragonflies eat mosquitoes!
WOAHHHHHHH YOU LOOK LIKE A COMPLETE DEFFERENT PERSON!!
Good hunt guys, great video Shawn
I always celebrate clean copper, the recycle value is there. Haha
Lots of dragonflies usually means lots of mosquitoes
Naples ring finder got me my wedding band back today, 45min of searching and he got it in the trough, 18inches down, 10k 6mm band, not an easy find
Have you ever found meteorites?
Thank you so much!!! This was a tough video for me, but I knew it had to get out there. The story is just so amazing
i use a hand scoop. i used red loctite so it doesnt come loose. it was off amazon $62. its pretty big. made of stainless steel. have a good day.
Yea I got one like that from Amazon. Don’t know what these guys do for a living to be able to drop 650 on a secondary scoop. Nice hair cute!!
Thanks Shelley!
Nice hair cut bro.
Nice cut bruh!
Thanks broski
Like the new Doo!
Thanks!
Like your haircut!
Thank you!
I like the new haircut 😁😁
Thank you!
Nice new hair Brotha!! Gold next time!!
Thanks Ally!!! 🤞🤞
I just bought a manticore. I love it so far.
Its such an amazing machine!!
Watching your videos and another metal detector channel based in New York city convinced me to buy it.
Nice find on the silver Shawn. Is there any free parking in Naples close to the beach?
Thanks! Not as far as I know. There's a parking garage near the entrance where we park. Not cheap unfortunately
@@DetectFlorida That's why I like Venice. Thanks anyway!
Didn't know there was a Carlton outside of France.
There's a bunch of them in Florida. Some of my best finds in all of my years of metal detecting were in front of various Ritz Carltons!
I’m new to this and just received my manticore today and wanted to see what you would recommend for the settings for your the beach and in the water chest deep here in Naples any help would be greatly oh appreciated.
I use a slightly modified surf and seawater program
Nice hair cut
That cap looks like it goes on the end of a casket ⚰️
Is every part of the Manticore waterproof? Can the whole unit be submerged?
Yes, Its good to 16 feet underwater!
I'm up north. What are sand dollars? Also, what do the numbers you're saying? What do they represent?
Sand dollars are little disc shaped animals that live on the ocean floor. When they die, they turn white. They're more desirable to collect than sea shells for most people. The numbers are displayed on the screen on my metal detector. Each number corresponds to whatever type of metal I dig. The numbers help identify the target before I dig it
lol i can see my grandparents condo - let me know if you find half a cartier love bracelet
I actually remember someone finding a half of a cartier love bracelet years ago
It's cool when you find jewellery amongst other things but the real reason I watch is even though I can swim I'm terrified of water especially the ocean! So when I watch it's almost like im in there with you and get butterflies the whole damn time!
Haha! I was out there today with manatees all around me! Its always so cool when I encounter sea life
Cool! I don't remember much but I did book report on manatees when I was in high school all I can remember is that they have several sets of teeth through out there life and that they are herbivores that's really cool! Thanks for replying to my message! You just got your self a subscriber.
The haircut looks good. 😶
Thank you!
Ive been in the market for a new scoop. Can you send a link for that bad boy you got or a discount code
Here's a link to the exact scoop. Unfortunately, I don't have a discount code for these

@@DetectFlorida $650!!!!!!!! Awe i wish i could afford something like that. it will take months to save
What metal detectors would be good for a beginner?
That really depends on the areas you'll be searching? Will you be in saltwater? Or land and/or freshwater?
Do you ever find anything good at the point of rocks ?
I have in the past, but the last couple of years have been slow there. I'll hit it once in a while, but it's just been too sanded in
Wouldn't it be better to do it in areas with more people?
Yes and no. There's detectorists that hit the popular areas every day. Those areas are usually pretty well picked over. If you find a washed out area in a section of beach that doesn't get detectorists, you can do very well!
Its ok when your sea water isn't -900 degrees lol i live in the uk and the sea is freeezing
