Singapore Bus Route Visuals: SMRT Buses Trunk Service 61 (Direction 2)

Welcome to one of the longest bus routes in Singapore, 61 from Eunos to Bukit Batok, albeit this is the MUCH shorter direction.
Bus 61 passes by Jalan Eunos, Eunos Link, Ubi Avenue 2, Aljunied Road, MacPherson Road, Circuit Road, Geylang Bahru, Kallang Bahru, Lavender Street, Crawford Street, North/South Bridge Road, Neil Road, Kampong Bahru Road, Telok Blangah Road, Alexandra Road, Queensway, Commonwealth Drive/Avenue, Holland Avenue/Road, Ulu Pandan Road, Clementi Road, Upper Bukit Timah Road, Jalan Jurong Kechil, and Bukit Batok East Avenue 6/3.
Introduced in 1971, Service 61 plied a crucial role connecting estates in a long-route fashion like bus services in the past, initially plying between MacPherson and Alexandra.
It was soon extended to Ulu Pandan shortly after, significantly lengthening the route, as well as Bukit Batok in 1987.
It was then extended to Eunos under TLNIE Phase 5 in 1991.
Until now, 61 is the only bus service to serve the currently demolishing Tanglin Halt estate slated for future redevelopment.
