Hallo I just watched your video. When you connected your blue and white cables you mixed them up. You say blue as + and light blue as a -. It seems there you made a mitsake. A=+ Blue B=- White 😉
What is the reason for adding 2 'extra' wires to the positive/negative rs485? When we could attach them to the Dvr/Nvr directly...at the A&B port.? After all, its only 1 ptz camera that would be needed in my case.
Hello, The 2 wires used to extend in this video were used to give a visualization of field application since you would typically have to run a wire unless your PTZ were in a lab environment. They can be directly connected to the recorder. CAT5e cable or 18/2 is typically used for this scenario.
Do you mean we can conect it with coxical capel in dvr dahua cintain rs485 port ? Without adding it as ip camera because if we add it as ip camera on dahua xvr the quality of video will be bad am i right or wrong?

Hello, i have this exact camera. It was installed already, however some of the features I'm not getting it to work. The default setting where the camera pans, tilts and zooms to test, occurs every time in the cruise I set up. It interrupts and may also occur twice in one cruise. Can you advise me?

So, I purchased a PTZ camera with an RS232 of an 8 pin connector. However, the joystick controller only is VGA? Do you know if I would have to splice two cables, or do they sell converter for that. Cause i'm trying to daisy chain two ptz cameras into the joystick controller
If you can pinpoint what pin is RS485 + and - then you can splice the cable and connect both ptz together. Make sure both + cables of the PTZs and both - cables of the ptz are connected together. ++ and - -
Try using the settings that are most common. for Example Pelco D, 2400, ID 1. also try Pelco P 9600 ID 1. these are the most common settings. best of luck
Most likely you have the same ID on all 3 PTZs. or maybe is the DVR that's sending the wrong information. Ill recommend you to make sure all 3 PTZ have a different ID. and also make a preset by going into the MENU of the PTZ camera itself and not from the DVR unit. most PTZ cameras you call Preset 95 to go into the menu and inside the menu you do the preset so it can stay in the memory of the PTZ camera and not the DVR. hopefully this helps =)
Hello, great video I followed step by step all good! I can't get my ptz to work though, I think I may have mixed my A and B initially, would this have damaged my ptz function?
its because they did the connection correctly but asked us to connect it wrong. A= -ve and B = +ve is the right way to connect but they tell it other way and connects properly. you find that if you pay attention to the connection they make.
Some Presets need to be save on the PTZ camera itself. you might need to access the PTZ camera OSD Menu and do a preset on the PTZ camera and use the DVR to call that preset.
Hi Could you please advise ?how PTZ camera with IP rj45 port no can be c9ntrolled in ptz? There is no rs 485 port , camera model is ec-750 stahl , it has axis m7011 chip ,
The RS485 connector only comes with the DVR and the PTZ camera, You cannot buy an RS485 for a DVR or PTZ camera. If you are referring to the terminal screw connector piece then, in that case, you might contact your DVR manufacturer and ask for that Terminal block.
I might had plugged it wrong in the Video because i was in mirror mode recording. But the correct way is as stated on the video. on most DVRs they will have A & B or Y & Z and the Letter that comes first on alphabetical order is always POSITIVE. A = "+" and B = "-". Good Catch.
I review the video and the connections are actually correct. I used the Blue for positive and Light blue for Negative. at first it got me confused as well but the video is actually correct =)
@@ENSSecurity WRONG FELLA .................. YOUR POSITIVE FROM THE CAMERA (RED) IS CONNECTED TO (DARK BLUE) "B" PORT OF DVR .......... B IS AFTER A IN ALPHABET ......................................... EPIC FAIL!!!
@@gazfrc4754 As we mentioned before we mentioned wrong in the video. but the instructions are correct. A = + and B = - and some DVRs have Y and Z so the first letter in the alphabet is positive.
@1:47 Do not connect wires like this for anything, anywhere, at any time. Just buy a terminal block and securely and safely connect them. They cost less than 10p.
If you don't have an RS485, Maybe they have a converter that can convert RS232 (Serial Port) to be used as RS485. If your DVR does not have RS485 or RS232 then you cannot connect a PTZ camera. NVR units don't need an RS485 because they use the IP address to transmit all information.

I believe during the video I did wire it wrong but then I corrected it on the next recording segment. Im sorry to confuse you but the directions are the same. A is Positive and B is Negative or Y is positive and Z is negative.
You can connect all PTZs together in the same RS485 Port. Make sure all cables are corresponding to each other. Positive with Positive and Negative with Negative. Just make sure that each PTZ camera has a Different ID. But all cameras would have the same BaudRate and Protocol. Hear this part of the video 2:10
