  • I said I'd do an update on this after messing up the first one, anyway here it is. All I know is that this remote ID thing and the 249 g or standard batteries versus the plus batteries versus the Mini 3, Mini 4 Pro, and the Mini 3 Pro definitely can be confusing.
    I just hope I covered everything and that It's all correct. I believe it is after studying and looking things over for 4 hours.

    This is why I opted for the Mini 3 pro for my 1st DJI drone. I can't wait for tomorrow!

      The Mini 3 Pro is a nice drone. I have had mine for about 2 years now with no issues whatsoever. Enjoy and be safe!

    The Mini 3 Pro batteries are compatible with the Mini 4 Pro. However, the Mini 3 Pro batteries weigh slightly more and will put your Mini 4 Pro over 250g. Do you know if the Mini 4 Pro will automatically broadcast RID with the couple of extra grams of the Mini 3 Pro batteries?

    • @dk4drones
      @dk4drones  Месяц назад

      I would have to say no, because the Mini 3 won't broadcast remote ID using that same standard battery. I don't have the M4P to test my M3P batteries in. I guess you could always try to get a hold of DJI support. They should be able to tell you if it does or doesn't. Thanks for the comment. Be safe.

    I own a mini 3 pro and fly with both the standard and extended batters, will i automatically be broadcasting RID with both?

      @@ty-k6708 Yes, only the Mini 3 Pro will broadcast RID with the standard (149g) and plus batteries. Thanks for the comment.

    Recreational pilots who fly drones of 250 grams or less are not required to comply with Remote ID. However, take note that the weight limit refers to the takeoff weight. Most sub-250-gram drones are close to that limit in their most basic configuration. Adding accessories like lights or propeller guards might take them over the limit.
    What happens when your drone goes a smidge over 250 grams? You must register it with the FAA, meaning it must fly under Remote ID rules.
    My Mini 2 is fine without RID

      Agree with all you mentioned and that is correct as far as I know. Thanks for the comment and be safe.

    Thanks for this information. I am still not convinced that DJI has the RID issue resolved on the Mini 3 Pro. This past week I spent a large amount of time on DJI chat and attempting to get RID working. Installed latest update of firmware. Still no detectable RID from the drone on Drone scan. I was asked to go out and try again. I launched the drone and hovered about three feet over the home point. No RID signal detected on Drone Scan. I then attempted to land the drone pulling back on the left stick. The drone would not respond and started to climb, I am still holding back on left stick. Drone rises and hits tree limb and crashes to ground. Gimbal damaged. Had to do an Express Refresh to get replacement Mini3 Pro. The drone was registered with FAA Drone Zone. Made calls to DJI and was told that the firmware would not allow the drone to take off if the RID was not transmitting. I am in total doubt about the entire thing. I used both the 249g battery and the Extended service battery. I am waiting for replacement to see what happens. Very dissatisfied.

      Not a good thing with the crash 🤕and good you had the Care Refresh😅.
      After reading your comment, I checked my M3P with the std battery using the Air Sentinel app and it picked the drone up almost right away. I also checked it with the Plus battery, and it work there as well.
      Hopefully there was something wrong with the drone and all your issues will be gone with the new or replacement drone 🤞! Take care and be safe.

      This is happening anyway and just recently. All I did was update the app. Same thing happened but I grabbed my drone before it could take off. Mine is the mini 2. It has nothing to do with remote ID. It’s something dji did.

      @@terryshrives8322 These issues should definitely be reported to DJI. That's not cool if that's going on. If it's only certain drones, that makes it even worse. Thanks for the comment. Be safe out there.
