    Some cats do play fetch a lot, and some love to swim. It depends on the cat itself, they're usually way more trainable than people think. She's growing up beautifully, I'm so glad she found her way to you.

    Just a recommendation for future health reasons-please consider more wet food instead of dry. Dry is high in carbs and increases risk of health issues like diabetes and urinary/kidney issues 🙏 thank you for being a responsible pet owner and getting her spayed as well it’s clear she’s well loved

      MIyth! I also used to believe this, for decades, and was devastated when my newly adopted cat wouldn’t touch any kind of wet food. But my vet luckily set me straight pointing to several long term studies that disprove this. The quality and make up of the food is key. Consistency is a matter of preference and doesn’t have an impact on long term health, hydration or anything like that. So as long as you opt for a high quality feed (preferably grain free imo) all is good in Catopia 😻

      @@jsvensson8234bullshit. i talked to my vet about this myself, and he said i should even add extra water to the wet food. dry food is only okay if your cat actually drinks a lot of water on their own, but most cats don't. i would like to see those so-called "long term studies" you are talking about and if those were actually done by independent researchers.

      @@jsvensson8234 Go to Jackson Galaxy's channel, he has an indepth series about food for cat, how the industrial dry pet food were made, and why dry food is so bad... even wet food if not carefully selected won't be nice for your kitty, regardless of their price point. IMO the best food one can give to their cats/dogs is the homemade one the owner make on their own, with fresh ingredients, no bullsnap fillers/preservative agents and knowing all the process of making them. and that would make it more flexible for owners to change the food to their pets' liking too

    • @tashatoddman7492

      Cats (small and large) are biologically desert animals who have very efficient kidneys due to their species being a carnivore/eat high protein diets and don't drink due to environment (which then causes the habit/lack of). The reason most house/domesticated cats end up dying because of kidney diseases is up to debate, but it's commonly agreed upon the theory that it's just due to the fact that they live so long with humans. Even tigers or lions in zoos/sanctuaries end up with kidney disease because they live on average longer than wild ones. The myth of needing wet food is due to the thinking that more water helps flush the kidneys more often and makes their work of filtering the blood easier, which "keeps" them working longer, but it really isn't confirmed by studies to be 100% true. It's similar in humans where our organs are bound to no longer work as well as before and shut down once you've been living for a long time. It obviously can't hurt to give them wet food but it is only truly beneficial if you know your cat doesn't drink much water. Dry food and treats is perfectly fine as long as your cat drinks enough water separately.
      I do agree about the high carbs aspect though as that is something to look out for in any food or treats. It's not only dry foods that have high carbs, so it's just important to look at the ingredient list of your pet's food. High quality food is all that matters, not wet or dry.

She likes going outside but she's also super anxious at big sounds so she has run off before when the leash slipped and someone moved a chair against the pavement (thankfully she didn't run far) So we don't put her on the harness too often.

    That's a very good law in Korea forbidding the "outdoor" cat thing. Cats are literally the single most responsible species for extinction of many other species - they hunt birds, lizards, mice etc. and they do not even eat them cause they get food at home. We need to start considering domestic cats for what they really are - an invasive species. I like cats myself and could be considered cat person, but I also love birds. Please keep your cats at home or on a leash in public, do not let them roam freely.

    • @dorino9057
      @dorino9057 6 месяцев назад +7

      Dogs are also an invasive species. In fact, they are more invasive than the cat as they have mutated more and further away from their original ancestors. Dogs and cats kill out of instinct not for fun. However, dog bites are far more severe in America more than 20,000 people a year needs reconstructive surgery because of dog attacks.

    • @szlomobronsztajn3115
      @szlomobronsztajn3115 6 месяцев назад

      @@dorino9057 sure but the problem is feral dogs are often caught at least in civilized countries you don't see them roaming around unlike cats where there is common permission for that. If dog bites you, it's a fault of his owner who raised the dog that way, you can sue him/her etc. But when a domesticated animal leads a species to extinction, what are you going to do?

    • @dorino9057
      @dorino9057 6 месяцев назад +2

      @@szlomobronsztajn3115 no, it’s not the fault of the owner, at least the most of the time it’s not even well-trained dogs who are treated well have bitten people severely. I’m out of the over 20,000 people a year who had to have reconstructive surgery from dog attacks. Most of these dogs were family pets not trained to attack. You don’t have to train a dog to attack. It’s the prey-drive that makes some dogs attack. You could also use the same argument for cats, say it’s not the cats fault but it’s the owner fault for creating the problem, and not training the cat, if you believe, animals can be trained against their own natural instincts.

      @@dorino9057 What is your point exactly? The OP was making a comment about, how cats are responsible for the extinction of many small animal species like rodents, birds etc. What has this to do with dogs being more dangerous to humans? Black Mambas and Hippos in Africa are more dangerous to humans than dogs, but you wouldn't call them an invasive species. Also what has dog breeding got to do with being an invasive species? Yeah, dogs are probably further away from their genetic ancestry compared to domesticated cats. So? You made a comment with a factually correct statement about cats being an invasive species and killing local wildlife in many parts of the world into some weird cats vs. dogs argument

    Also the belt is needed for cats. Cats shoulders are different from dogs (that's how cats can fit into small spaces) so the belt helps to distribute the harness pressure when it's connected to the leash during walking. If you're going to be walking her with that outside and she suddenly makes a run for it, chasing after something and you don't have the belt part: either the collar part will slip off over her head or she'll dislocated her neck.

    Some advice for the spay (my girl had it done about 6 months ago): Both my girl and boy cat HATED the cone, and the longest I could get them to wear it was 10 minutes after trying for 2 hours. They ended up doing ok without it, but I recommend using that post-surgery vest/onesie instead. Could have her just get used to wearing it beforehand. I also kept her in a 2x3 foot cage while I wasn't around to prevent her from jumping, which was good because she ended up having a few pee accidents during the first couple days. Also, since they can't groom themselves, pet wipes are great to help clean them.

    She’s so precious and you’re such a good cat dad! ❤ I leash trained my cat as a kitten (although he was a bit accustomed to it from the family i got him from), here’s a few tips i found helped: having the harness quite loose in the beginning and slowly tightening it everytime i was putting it on my cat. I also first started with only the piece that goes around the neck (the harness parts were detachable). Also playing while he was wearing it with his favorite toys, so he got the feeling that he could move while it was on. And yes, treats! Then putting on the leash and open the front door, only for him to explore the immediate outside of the door. He was so anxious at first he only sat in the doorway but slowly curiosity took the win. We had many wonderful adventures in the near woods of every place i lived at, he also had a kitty backpack he got in so i could take him to a safe place while living in an apartment. Also if a dog approached i’d quickly scoop him up in the backpack which i kept on my belly side. Once the initial training was done, he probably associated the harness with the outdoors and was always patient when i put it on him. I kept the bell on so that he couldn’t jump birds if i got distracted. I lost him last year to cancer, he lived to be twelve. I’ll always miss him and our outdoor walks. I wish you and gooey get to experince the same. Walking outside with your cat and seeing them interact with the world around them is one of those things that you’ll never forget.

Your dad will eventually fall in love with her too. You & your family are headed for many years of fun & love. Wishing you all the very best.

      All cats have great personalities. She is not some rarity. What are you talking about?! I've fostered more than 400 cats and ever single one of them was or became (with a little time, care and love) friendly, cuddley and affectionate.

      @@daenerystargaryen not all cats are dog-like, friendly to house guests/strangers, coming when you call, game to get in a carrier/leave the house (not skittish or reluctant to be held or go on a lap). maybe your having more cats around helped the new fosters learn from the others that certain things were desirable so they grew past certain aversions, maybe it's harder for cats to lose certain aversions if there are not other cats around helping them realize certain things are not only safe, but desirable? all animals are special, but i think i know what the person meant when they indicated some animals seem extra special, some animals have a certain combo where you feel like it's hitting the jackpot? for many it's having a very dog-like super friendly anxiety-free extra relaxed cat. or eg, i love allll dogs, but if i get one someday, i think the features that would make an extra rare, hitting the lottery dog are: *not barking all day long* (quiet), very calm/gentle**, supersoft still after no longer a puppy, still looks like a puppy even though adult :)

      @@daenerystargaryen haven't you ever watched jackson galaxy's show, cats from hell or whatever the title is, some cats that make the owner afraid, some that jackson galaxy determined seemed not trainable, certainly objectively could be considered to have a less desirable personality than certain others?

    people dont understand the the reason why humans transitioned from hunter gatherers to farming and civilization. it was cats. cats made us want to be better and build them the greatest home for thier furry little butts to live in.

    Cats are very popular in South Korea. Back in say 2005, it was uncommon for Koreans to like cats. They thought negatively of them. Now, they produce some of the most cat videos and surpassed Russians in posting such vidoes.

    Cool to see such an apt in South Korea, a cool cat, too.
    I am confused about your accent being European, not Korean English accent. Unsure if you know what I mean.
    I love when the people of other countries keep their accent while learning European or England or USA English rather than losing themselves by losing all their accent from their ancestry.
    For centuries, the USA had forcefully gotten rid of the accents from Hispanics and Native Americans. Thankfully, such accents have not been utterly destroyed.
