The hate on Red Swan is real I actually really like that opening though!! All 4 openings are great. And I think the other 3 openings really showed that titans were the main threat in S1 and S2, meanwhile, S3 focuses more on the happier, more simple times in Eren's life and how things are different now. (ps: i have read the manga up to chapter 111 ik what's happening)

Op1 --> Focuses on the intensity of the show and "locks into place" the threat of the Titans and the mood of the show Op2 --> Brings out the action and deeper motives behind the series and emphasizes the "glory" that the Recon Corps/Survey Corps are searching, thus "Wings of Freedom" Op3 --> Highlights the turning point of the show and is heavily layered (yes, I said that) based on Eren's current role as a protagonist and brings back some of the darkness from the first opening; it also introduces the first forms of foreshadowing that the author of the manga displayed around the time he was writing those chapters Op4 --> Laden with melancholy and looks back on times gone by, helping to refine the ending to a true dark age within the walls while, at the same time, brings a wrap to everything that happened prior to this season Op5 --> Extremely hype and action-filled, so far the opening with the least depth in its meaning, though I feel this is done on purpose as the characters are forced to deal with the here and now like they never have been forced to before; it's like the franchise's final "beau geste" before everything in the plot... changes (as manga readers would understand)
