  • Having been original postponed from the 9th July, 35028 finally took the Kenk Coast hauling The Man Of Kent Railtour, With honours to Andy Davies.
With a planned 4 shots for the day, it would be a rare opportunity to see steam on the 1in65 of Martin Mill Bank.
Sadly due to climate change protesters causing the M25 to be shut, the outward leg shot was abandoned and a detour to the Romney Hythe & Dymchurch Railway was made.( Short video to follow soon)
For the return run we headed over to Walmer, where 35028 is seen lifting the 13 coaches up the gradient. Having been almost brought to a stand at Deal, with the proceeding clearing the section.
Having watched and listened to 28's battle with Martin Mill bank, the next location would see Clan Line run along the coast at Capel-le-Ferne. Sadly the sun didn't appear for us, but Clan Line always brightens up the scene, as it speeds along to Folkestone.
With a waterstop at Paddock Wood it gave us a chance to grab one last shot at Hildenborough, where many commuters took time to witness 35028 power through catching the last rays of the sun.
Not exactly how the day was planned, but all worked out in the end.
