Another strat anyone could try is starting the fight in Master form. Make sure you have reaction boosts on and collect the jumps (preferably 9 jumps). With those jumps and Master form with the reaction boosts you should be able to shred some bars. Revert immediately after the last jump and immediately initiate Duck Flare. Make sure you use megaflare immediately after the initial attack as anything else might make his RV retaliate with a DM. As you're attacking him with duck flare you should be attacking him with aerial spirals and constantly jumping up, as the English version of 2fm on ps4 makes this combo buffed for some reason. Doing the fight this way correctly should get you the win without seeing his DM move. Just in case the strat fails have some ethers in the back pocket for safety in case he DMs, this way you can use Duck Flare for i frames. Shout outs Bloody, Riz, Biz, and other kh speedrunners for dropping gems for the casuals lol.(strat differs from story fight to Data fight)
Yeah I know about the speed run strate that they use on him but some people may not know that or it might be to advance for them maybe it's just a guess but yeah I hear you loud & clear they could use that speed run strate thus bypassing his desperation move.
Boss Attacks -spear slash (pierce type) -aero shield (damage impact upon attack when activated, Reprisal ability, instant counterattack) -aerial assault (use jump reprisal learnt) -Desperation move (spears of despair followed by a aero blast from the spears formed into a dragoon) inflicts knockback -wait time for skills reduced by 50% when HP is less than 50% He is definitely a tricky boss if you don't use reflect. This is a battle that Mickey will come to the rescue (not the data based battles). I wonder if he will appear as an optional data organisation XIII battle again in the Remind DLC (fight the old organisation or the new organisation)... It can ramp up the challenge with a new move set and desperation move he may have.
Most likely not reason being because he's not apart of the organization XIII anymore not even lexeaeus is with them anymore. I think we might fight demyx because Riku instantly took his keyblade out readying himself. We might fight vexen as well because he's still apart of the organization XIII.
Played this on emulator on my PC, I made a new save state like every 2 minutes. I salute those of you who beat this having to go through the whole boss battle over and over again. I've had little difficulty with any bosses until this point. This boss was insane.
Thanks. I remembered I did that exact same thing when I was fighting his data battle. Yeah' he was one of those boss fights that made the player have to think & I will admit when I was younger I was getting my butt handed to me by Xaldin real good.
I like Xaldin, simply because he is a real villain with all bad attitudes, he is sadistic, manipulative, greedy (he want's Beast castle) and his appearence that combine a dreadlock guy with a dark knight is great too, plus he is one of the hardest yet funny boss in the game.
Yeah' Xaldin boss was probably the only boss you fought straight up in a Disney world in that game & any other humanoid boss that were in the Disney worlds were fought in the absent silhouette which were also fun to do. So you had two organizations XIII boss in beast castle which added more content in that world.
This is a great help since this is a boss fight that I actually despise Maybe in my next playthrough of the game I will use this strategy next time. I did beat him by the way.
Thank you & congrats on beating Xaldin. He is pretty tough on the first playthrough that I know being I had trouble with this fight as well when I was a teen.
No problem. His fight always got everyone including me. He was & still to new player one of the fights that stomped a lot of players. If anything Demyx would be the boss I thought players would be stuck on because lord know I was stuck on his fight for hours all because I never understood using aerial recovery.
i watched your video and well, im still trying to figure out when to press what when he does his moves cause for some reason the cam is ass in this fight lool. still need to learn aerial dodge tho because thats really shitty without it. im trying my best in the future, thanks for the guides man!
I am not entirely sure what move you are referring to but if it is Aerial Dodge you need, it can be learned from Master Form by collecting drive orbs in that form which counts as exp for that form. The best grinding spot for this form in final mix is in the Cavern of Remembrance by striking the balloons with drive orbs. The best room on that level is the one before the first wave of heartless fight. You will see two balloons there. Strike them while in master form then leave that room then death abuse & Sora will restart by that entrance & you can go back in that room & strike those balloons again because the game reset them & since you left that room before the death abuse, you still keep the exp you earned because of the room transition saves what you did just before you enter the next load zone. Hope that was helpful.
I'm currently playing on Proud mode and... it's different compared to other bosses. Still have not beaten him but i have manage to get him down to the final health bar. I found air combos pretty useful here since you can stun lock on him quite easily and bring him down to 50% without further issues. The only thing i struggle with is casting reflect at the correct time. Most of the times i have been stun locked by his second form and either his laser spear or beam takes me out in one hit. Need more practice.
@@Cykelpump33 He is pretty tough on the first & maybe the second playthrough which dealt with a lot when I was a teen. The best way to time when to reflect his spear downward attack is by listening to his battle quote or you can go based off the wind effect that swirls around Sora just as it vanish around Sora can be a great way to catch it. Keep in mind that he will come down faster in his super boss version later in post game content.
@@johnathonlawhorne7210 Your welcome.Yeah, there is this weird glitch were his thrust attack will go right through Sora guard which never happened on the PS2 version since that attack can be guarded but for some reason in the ps4 version his wind hitbox hits Sora before his weapon does which is backwards.
@@vpxil I could never tell the difference in defense since on critical mode you either get two shotted or one spotted by some along with the HP cap stopping at 60 max. So I couldn't tell if the shield was doing anything or not unless you are in early game when you can see it but mid or late game is where that gets cut off. Now defense boost grinding plus the armor slots you get to put on will boost Sora's defense.
Another strats! Thanks for providing another technique in order to *parry frames*. Well, I am always using reflega, Do The Reflegas can still parry Jumps?
Yes but you won't get any damage out of him sadly because he will be invisible & you will use all of your magic doing that or die in between reflect when you can just jump away from it for safety. Depending on what mode you are on.
@@MisterViolet Yes it's effective but I thought I would have been able to guard it but didn't think it would happen. Yeah, critical mode does not play around but does give the player something at the start of the game other modes doesn't get. Also, the guard thing is really odd. For whatever reason, the wind barrier around Xaldin seems to hit Sora before his lance does which is not a normal thing that would ever happen on the PS2 version of this game. So that is usually an easy attack to guard but will sometime just hit Sora at random before his lance does which is unfair, especially on level 1 for sure.
