Introducing the MKC Traditions Knives, a special collection that brings back the classic hunting knives from my days as a custom knife maker. Each knife in this lineup features a unique desert ironwood handle, renowned for its toughness and one-of-a-kind grain patterns.
The MKC Traditions Knives showcase handles crafted from desert ironwood, a material celebrated for its hard, closed grain that repels oil, blood, and water. This ensures the handle stays clean, stable, and free from warping or cracking. We’ve outfitted four of our models - the Blackfoot, the Whitetail, the Stonewall, and the Super Cub - with these exceptional handles, each paired with a custom sheath from Francesca at Teton Leather. Every piece of desert ironwood is unique, just like a fingerprint, offering a variety of grain patterns from burly to straight. This means no two knives are alike, giving you a one-of-a-kind tool that is both functional and visually stunning. The ironwood's natural resilience to extreme conditions makes it perfect for hunting knives.

The desert ironwood handle scales are equally as impressive as the blade. Sourced from the Southwestern United States, this exceptional wood is renowned for its unparalleled durability and natural beauty. With a Janka hardness rating of 3260, the desert ironwood is one of the hardest woods available, ensuring the handle can withstand even the most rigorous use without cracking or breaking.
MKC X TETON LEATHER SHEATH
Each Traditions Knife comes with a 100% Made in the USA, custom MKC x Teton Leather Company Sheath. Montana Knife Company™ Vertical leather sheath is made of premium Leather and handmade by Francesca at Teton Leather Company. The Leather sheath is a classic alternative to the stock Kydex Stonewall Sheath.

I have the RMEF with the desert ironwood handles and it’s a thing of beauty and totally unique. I think if I can snag a Blackfoot or a whitetail I will be super stoked 🤙🙌🎉🇺🇸

Beautiful knife, easily the best looking scales with the polished magnacut compared to the G10. If you sold the scales separately, I might consider it, but for the price increase....I'd rather just buy another knife w/ G10 and expand the collection.
