Hey Gregg... the blue things aren't technically Jelly Fish (might be a related family of organisms...?) but are called By-The-Wind Sailors (Velella). It's fairly common for them to wash up on shore in the millions during Spring on the west coast. They are absolutely everywhere right now!
Watching from the couch with a broken (while detecting) knee... I had no idea that the non-boardwalk part of Venice was so 'normal!' I want to visit/detect there once I'm recovered. Tnx for another great video.

Sorry to hear about your knee. I’m pretty sure they recently did a sweep of the homeless recently at Venice beach. It was really nice there.
