I remember when I first seen Stimpy’s fan club I was 13 and I went to brush my teeth right when Nickelodeon put a commercial out before the kid in the letter could tell what his secret was. I laughed when Ren said, dear Johnny, you make me sick!!! Nickelodeon did not cut out the rubber knife scene or the naked man in the underwear scene It flew over my head, but it meant jack ass. But the scenes were removed when they were aired on nickelodeon again. But watching a review of this episode, I noticed it went from Ren & Stimpy living in a trailer house to a regular house with siding when Ren dressed as Stimpy answered the door I laughed pretty hard at that scene!
A mosquito? The little girl reading her own letter was possibly the funniest scene along with the button push line do you know,,, then the laugh. Just killer
Although the season 2 finale is "The Royal Canadian Kilted Yaksmen", "Stimpy's Fan Club" has always felt more like the season finale to me in terms of the episode's plot and the fact that this is the last episode of this season's production where John Kricfalusi voices Ren. While he has recorded most of Ren's lines for "A Visit to Anthony" and "The Royal Canadian Kilted Yaksmen", Billy West fills in for Ren in other portions of those episodes, which includes some parts of "Stimpy's Fan Club".
@@JoinednHarmony John Kricfalusi and his supporters lambasted Games for "torturing" the characters in episodes like Circus Midgets and No Pants Today. But A Visit to Anthony an example that came from Spümcø. Mad Dog Hoek and Big Baby Scam are other examples to me.
This may be the best special (if not the best episode) of the series. The voice acting and animation is better than ever, and the story is genius. Ren's descent into jealousy and madness is very well done, and the brain scene really unsettled me during the first watch. Fun fact: the recording you watched was raised a semitone compared to the original. Rank: 10/10
I was glad when Ren finally got a letter, but I felt shocked for about a second when hearing that Stimpy wrote that letter, and then I thought again and shouldn’t have found it that unusual because Stimpy cared for Ren without a doubt while no one else did! As for the gang from the episode “Nurse Stimpy” that returned in this episode, I’m sure they didn’t feel bad for Ren while he cried out of realization that he was so nasty!
I believe it would've been directed by John Kricfalusi had the show not been taken over by Games. While Peter Avanzino storyboarded it at Spümcø, and the voices were recorded there too, but the layouts, background designs, editing, music and sound effects were done at Games. Most of the drawings there were done by Avanzino, hence his director's credit.
Easily one of the best Ren and Stimpy episodes without a doubt. It's ironic that one of the most praised episodes doesn't have a silly invention, a supernatural element, cartoony slapstick or even any sexul innuendos. It's just a well told story/character study with great expressions (done by the legend Peter Avanzino), well timed humour and great animation, it's not as smooth compared to Carbunkle's work, but it works for a more dialogue driven affair. The bed scene is obviously my favourite scene of the whole show, all the different angles and detailed shots are just eye candy and it perfectly contrasts the previous scene (were it was mostly one shot). This obviously gets a 10/10, anything lower would be underselling it.
Im looking really forward to seeing your opinions about the games era of the show, lots of people praise the forst 2 seasons and the other 3 seasons are never talked about.
I tried linking you the original unedited version of Stimpy's Cartoon Show to you, as well as a deleted scene from the fake ad that aired with it. You can find both of them, however, on the Internet Archive. I posted it in the comment section of your Patreon video for The Great Outdoors.
I think this has John ks best voice acting ever
Funfact: In the Secret Headquarters segment, Ren is voiced by Billy West
And with these hands, I hold the fate of millions.

This has got to be the most iconic episode of the whole show. My favorite episode of all time
Same!
I’m split between this and Sven Hoek
What do you mean you don't agree with me?! Do you know who you're dealing with?! That's the funniest part.
Oh boy, my favourite episode of the whole show❤
REN is freakin insane
"Hey Abner we can't hang these two. The skinny one don't weigh enough. And the fat on ain't got no neck".
Ren tries to snap stimpys neck
They've been around together long enough. Ren knows everything.
Hahaha 😂😂

This is the best episode of the series…Ren writing letters and freaking out in the bedroom are epic

I like this episode more than A Visit to Anthony.
@@yosefdemby8792 A visit to Anthony was terrible, it's just Ren and Stimpy getting punished for things they didn't do

O boy John K & fan mail.😨
When he opens that letter and says this is the proof that you are finished, it cracks me up every time
Man, this show basically has MTV written all over it and it’s no wonder it reran on there all those years ago.
There's an unused layout for this episode for when Ren is about to snap Stimpy's neck,it's on the Ren and Stimpy production art account.
Just checked it out, crazy that this episode could have been even better if more time was spent on it

All the edits the other episodes were given, I'm surprised the "ass of himself" joke survived.
That was censored for a while on TV in reruns.
So is it so that before Season 3 there are Episodes where billy West voices ren insted of John k ?
14:30 That scared me as a kid.😱
Did you know this show is getting a reboot
Yup it’s gonna be really interesting if it actually comes out, any new Ren And Stimpy content is appreciated
Next is a Visit to Anthony.
you probably answered this already but will you review the adult party episodes??
Yeah I will do APC after season 5

How could Ren have snapped Stimpy's neck if Stimpy doesn't have a neck?
He was never in any real danger 0/10 episode
You wrote 0/10 instead of 10/10
That was probably intentional.
