Impressive chin ups Mr. Daub! I wouldn't be able to do one! 😂Such a lovely stroll through the park, except for the Toby interception. They do like to follow you! 😂 Have a great evening John. Until the next live...
Grrrr. I can't believe I missed this live. You were in my neck of the woods! I don't have time to watch this right now but will be watching later. Hope you had a good time walking to Inokashira Park!
Wow , thank you John. It brings memories on my first visit to Japan. I went on the same route to Ghibli Museum back in 2013 April. The park was a surprise, seeing the Ghibli characters signs to guide toward the Museum. ❤
Love that area. Whenever I go to Japan, I visit Kichijoji multiple times. They have great stores and restaurants. They also still have nice shotengai and mom & pop stores too. Kichijoji is very quaint, mixed with modern place to visit. As John said, very popular place to live!! 🌸💗
I went to ghibli last march and thanks to your previous video, I arrived at mitaka station and walked to ghibli museum. The street towards the museum is beautiful and went back to kichijoji station through inokashira Park 😊. Hopefully I could visit ghibli again and took the ghibli bus from mitaka station.
I was finally able to go check out the Ghibli museum on my last trip in Japan December -January. The tickets used to be sold out for since they only release them about a month at a time about 3 months out. This time, possibly due to Ghibli park being recently opened, it was only sold out 2-3weeks so I was finally able to go. Definitely made for kids and those who are still kids at heart.
Crazy, I pass through Kichijoji Station almost every day on my way to work, and cause I work there too! Maybe I would’ve seen you if I’d been around a little longer!
3 years ago... I traveled by train and ship around the half world to Japan and i was owned tickets for the museum. Then comes the lockdown and i had to flight back home without a visit.
Yeh Kichijoji is a cool area mihos best friend from school days lives there!!! Michaela she’s been around RUclips for years now!!! Nice walk around John!!!👍🏻🏃🏼♂️🦅
I worked at REI for a minute, which had the same return policy for decades. It's why they justified their higher prices. For the same reasons they stopped. People returning sleeping bags they bought 20 years prior and stuff like that.
Said it in chat but if you can get a ticket for 1000 yen direct from the museum it's a fantastic experience, it feels like you're exploring one of the puzzle worlds of a Myst game. Nothing's in english but unsurprisingly everything is conveyed so well just through the visuals that it doesn't really matter. Don't bother if you're stuck paying exponentially more from a reseller though.
Thank you for this video, I’ve visited Inokashira Park a few times…never explored there properly…when I return to Japan I’ll definitely do that. Also I noticed the Showa style building where a Yakitoriya used to trade…at the main park exit adjacent to the steps…was either demolished or repurposed 🤔
That was a fun walk through the park even with the Zoo closed for Monday. I guess Monday closings are an international thing. If I recall correctly the Museums in Frankfurt were all closed on Monday when be were there. Last week I was at the Nevada State Museum in Carson City and noted it closes on Mondays. I guess it is understandable as they can thus justify staying open on Sundays when more people are available to attend.
Damn John, you missed us. My son and I went to the ghibli museum yesterday, about 1 hour before you started and we walked the exact same route. I was really impressed by this little park, it‘s so pretty. I have been to the ghibli museum the second time in my life and I can relate to your impression. But this time i went with my 3 year old son - who was free - and he enjoyed it so much. That really changed my mind. You should go with Leo. Btw: have you been to the new ghibli park in nagoya?
Oh darn! I’ll wait until he’s just a little bit older. He’s just starting to really talk … and pick up meanings fast. He loves Totoro so I’m sure we’ll go :)
I have wanted to see the inside of the Ghibli museum for a long time. I thought that eventually they would let someone film the inside.I have watched a few videos online that said that they were a tour of Ghibli and none of them showed the inside.
In 2/3 weeks in May 🇯🇵 Summer season will be starting like in other countries including 🇺🇸 be more tourists coming to visit places and restaurants and beaches to in 🇯🇵 . If people want to come stay with you I thought you should do a B&B with one of the Akia homes 🏡 maybe you and Peter and some your other friends can get one going for people who come to 🇯🇵 or if anyone else may want to try it in 🇯🇵. I would go to a movie 🍿 to depending what it is like a John Wick or Godzilla come back. 👍📸🇯🇵
How come did not bring Leo with you? A children's paradise! Ghibli Museum! A lot of fun! 😃😊The ticket can obtain by checking with the entry staff. Without reservation may be able to get in, but need to wait a bit. Weekday will be easier! The place isn't always busy! Kichijoji is a town where people love to live, which has more green spaces (parks ) with a convenient living environment.🤭

Thanks for this video John! I walked around Kichijoji and Inokashira during my last visit in 2019. It’s nice to see it again!

I use to go here all the time in the 70's and 80's

✨Super amazing/awesome 👑

Copyright issues. Ghibli is pretty strict. I think it’s good to go for yourself to see the mysteries!
I'm curious how Inokashira park looks like during Autumn
Went there in February. A good friend of mine had to buy us tickets at Lawson a month in advance.
That is a good friend.
My wife and I are sad that you didn’t go inside 😢 hope you do that next time.😊
Copyright issues.
My favorite Tokyo neighborhood 🤩
3 times walked through that park and never once went to ghibli museum. 🤦♂️
wanna visit there
29:54 how dare you. I feel sorry to this man 😂

He’s 2 😂 ever heard of terrible twos? He’d not like the 55 min train ride here from where we live.
Dang, that more chin-ups that I can do 😂
Cool!✌️
when you consider being forever alone but then YT goes "consider this dude in japan"
?
me wanting to be nice to japan
jon: do opposite
me: no
“I want to be nice to Japan.” Do you not do nice things normally? 😂 why change if you’re a nice person normally?
I wouldn't even pay $50 to go see a movie in a theater let alone a bluray. The museum looks cool though!
😂 feel that sentiment - I’ve an old DVD of Totoro from … yeah, and that’s as far as I’ll go. I do think I’ll see a movie 🍿 for nostalgic purposes.
I broke up with my girl friend a couple of weeks after we dated at Inokashira Park.
Aw, sorry to hear that. When you find the right one, take her and erase that last one.
@@onlyinjapanGO A couple shouldn't go to Inokashira Park. There is a famous legend there that any couple dated at Inokashira Park will soon break up.
