Great advice -- especially about using multiple devices. I bought tickets for May, and started with two, signing on 30 and 29 minutes before the start of ticket sales. Ten minutes later, I also logged in with my phone. The first told me I was 17,000th in line, the second 9,000th. With the last device, I was under 1,000! So it looks like there's no benefit in getting there too early, but using a larger number of devices, as you say, increases the odds.
I got my tickets 🎉 thank you so much! Me and my husband has been trying 3 months prior but to no avail. The nearest queue was 6000+. And then we saw your video and tried to refresh 1 min before, we got in after 241 queue. (We used 6 devices, but only our mobile phone got in with the shortest queue). Prolly because of mobile data lol Thank you againnn ❤
Thank you so much! I refreshed one device about a minute before, and ended up 168th in line. The other device had me at about 28000. Then the server was overwhelmed, and couldn't process my payment. Thought my tickets were lost, but got an email saying that they'd made a provisional booking, and were holding them for me until "repayment". 3 hours and 38 minutes later, I finally got the payment to go thru!
I just bought 4 tickets with my family, thanks to your advice! We used 8 devices and in one of them we luckly got the 880th spot! Others varied from 1300 ~ 17000. I had the impression that the 10am tickets went really fast, no matter if it was weekday or weekend. We chose a Sunday, 14pm. Thank you thank you thank yooou 😭 I believe we wouldn't make it without this video!
Oh my gosh thank you for the tips! I've been a little stressed out about buying tickets but you explained it step by step with helpful tips! I feel at ease knowing what to expect lol thanks!
Thank you so much for the thorough and detailed advice! I was able to score two tickets for the ONE day I'm in Japan and the museum is open. I did go for the triangle times (initially tried for 10am to no success), but I got a 2pm entry time on my second try. Refreshing my browser right before the 1 minute countdown mark was what worked for me. My Visa credit card did get blocked but I had my Amex handy which worked just fine. Thank you again, had no idea how difficult it was to get tickets before I watched your video!!
Thanks so much for your useful tips!!! I managed to get tickets tonight for my trip next month, I was 27,000 in the queue on one device but thankfully 2500 on another!!!😂 your tips were super helpful and made sure I got tickets, thank you!!!
Hey wanted to thank you for the tips. Having multiple screens, cards and picking a circle time were definitely the keys for my success. Feeling very lucky. I got to the checkout page with visa and conpleted the 2fa but the purchase was still declined for some reason. Having a mastercard backup saved the day. Not even 10 minutes later the day was fully sold out. By the time i finished, the triangle times i would have preferred were gone. Picking the circle time was 100% the right call. Thank you!
I can't handle the stress so I paid 5 times the price for a professional shopper in Japan to get tickets, was told April is specially tough to get, all sold out!😭
Ok this is actually so concise and informative, thank you so much Currently studying in japan and am planning to try getting tickets for me and my family, literally fighting for my life😂 ready to have people with credit cards I can borrow to buy the tickets prepared
@@vaniaanindita7015 yup it was that rough. Having been there now i would suggest going on a tour for it. They provide the tickets and if you don't remember everything Ghibli having someone explain what things are would be really cool
Thank you for the advice on not wasting time on picking the ones with the triangles. I was able to get my tickets yesterday within 20 minutes with no issues with the credit card ( I did have multiple cards on the ready). Based on what I did yesterday. The queueing system seems to punish you if you use multiple computers with the same IP address. Internet speed will play a huge role on your spot. I had a laptop using cellular data and got a place @380, but my other laptops using the home internet was anywhere from 3000 to 8000. The queue started about 25 minutes or so prior to 10am (Japan time)
the opposite happened to me, so I don't think that's how it works. My cellular data one ended up with the highest number, 17,700 and my laptop that shared the same network with all my bf's devices got 2000 which was the lowest number we got.
For 5 Times the price, you can also use a professor shopper. They will buy the tickets for you and guarantee you to have them. I went for that option since i have terrible bad luck and am very sensitive to stress lol
I had to pick a triangle because there were no circles available apart of 16:00. I then choose 12:00 because I expected that 10:00 would be the most popular and likely to be sold out during data entry. Overall, it worked smoothly, but the queue position is key and totally random. I had only two devices with 2.9k and 9k. On the 2.9k I waited 30min.
Thank you for this info! Me and my wife had 6 devices connected. 4 had bigger allocated que number upon joining (30mins early) 1 got through but failed (sold out) on the day that I selected. The last one got through on the day that we wanted. Absolute Carnage but jubilation 😅🎉 it’s 3:11am back to bed 🛌
these tips are really helpful, thank you! my friends and i all tried to secure tickets and successfully bought after going through a tough battle! unfortunately, due to the panic, we now have 2 extra tickets for March 22 morning (if anyone is interested it's available for grabs!) good luck to all trying for next months!
Thank you for the video. Did you succeed finally? I managed to buy tickets for March 2024. I joined the queue 30 mins before start time but was 8000+ in the queue. I used my phone with separate mobile data as back up. When i finally get into the booking page. All were triangles and crosses. I tried all the triangles with no luck, refreshed multiples times and at one time it was ALL crosses. Few minutes later, some preciously fully booked slots became triangles again. I seized the chance. Finally able to buy 2 tickets. My advice: 1. Do not give up even with full page of crosses. 2. Practice makes perfect. I rehearsed and screen cap the process 3 months prior. Even went as far as the credit card 2FA step. 3. If possible, plan your itinerary so you stay in Tokyo a few days, preferably weekdays. This allows more flexibility to choose available slots.
So glad you got tickets, that's great advice! Unfortunately my wife and I haven't been able to go yet, I got stuck on the payment issue and we weren't able to get tickets for the month we were in Japan, we'll be going back though and are optimistic for next time :)
I didn't know about any of this "waiting room" stuff so I got on right at the opening time of 10am JST/5pm PST and found i was behind 16,000+ people! needless to say i still waited but no luck:( LUCKILY my sister has a good friend in Japan who was able to get us tickets on the Lawson Japanese site, which was NOT sold out! TRIP SAVED
Dude, I couldn't even buy Disney tickets online for Tokyo and finally gave up. Thanks for warning us about this one; I had no idea it was this hard to get those tickets.
Was today in the 13.000+ despite being 15 minutes early and could snipe a triangle ticket. For 4PM though, but happy I got two… maybe it was a second device that let go of the tickets until they managed their booking on one device. Went in as a single device user…
I underestimated the struggle completely. I'm currently in Japan for about 5 months now and I did try to get a ticket for April but I just messed up completely. I was to late and the queue place was at 24k !! Like wtf. I did not get any tickets. But I will try again next month with your tips in mind. :)
Thank you for the advice. I see there's something called "My Page" and it seems you need to make an account for this, but I can only find a login page. Can you explain what the deal with "My Page" is?
I have not tried to buy tickets to Ghibli park, but from clicking around on their website I believe they use the same ticketing service as the museum. So I would imagine the queuing process is the same, the triangle/circle/X system will be used, and the advice about the credit cards would also apply. It does look like tickets for the park go on sale several months in advance instead of just one month ahead of time. I believe they also sell out quickly. Here's the website: ghibli-park.jp/en/ticket/international-Feb.html good luck!!
I watched your video last week and thought it wouldn’t be so bad…little did I know…I joined the line 2 minutes late and I was placed behind 17,000+ people😅 I had two devices actively trying to grab tickets when my turn came after 45 minutes, but no luck 😭 I’m so bummed I can’t go there next month!!
tried to get tickets from the uk in the early hours got on the website 15 mins before they went on sale when i got in the queue there were 22,000 people in the queue! insane!!! needless to say despite staying in the queue until it was my turn (1 hr 15 mins later) i did not get any tickets, i think people in other countries should be given priority to people who live in japan. does the queue actually start before the tickets go on sale 10am japan time, so should i have gone on the website hours before they went on sale ? also once i got to the choosing ticket stage it kept malfunctioning and saying error due to lots of traffic
Bought a ticket for the wrong date by accident. Im devastated. What can I do? I meant to get a ticket fir Sunday 12th at 12 but bought for 5th at 12. 😢
I totally flubbed the time zones and couldn't catch a ticket on the 10th thinking it was the 11th in my time zone. Is there any chance I could still get a ticket by someone who gives up or a situation like that?
hi! thank you for these tips! i'm going with a party of 7 of us (2 families). Do i need just my passport info to enter, or do i need everyone's passports to book this?
You just need the passport of who will be picking up the tickets. However, one person can only buy up to 6 tickets so you will need two different passport holders to buy some tickets for your party of 7
Truly miserable experience. I was 2k something in queue on one PC, 3k something on another. 2k queue comes up and I get all the way to payment and it crashes. Spend the next hour refreshing. Then try the 3k queue pc. Same deal. Now everything is sold out.
Hi I bought the premium ticket but at 2PM. They said that this time only for Grand warehouse site, it means the other park we could enter before 2PM ? thx to clarify.
Yes you are correct, with the premium ticket for Ghibli park you are allowed to enter when the park opens. Only the warehouse has an assigned entry time. So explore the park and be ready to enter the warehouse at 2pm! Have fun!
I believe most of Europe is 7 hours behind Japan, so tickets would drop at 4 in the morning day of. But if you're far west or east in Europe it might be different by an hour.
