I agree with you ! I saw him in concert last year in Paris and it was by best gig ever ! But I would say that I put Ren Gill as phenomenal as Hozier, as a singer, song writer, poet and musician, in a different style of course 😉😘
You should check out the music video for Nina Cried Power too. The visuals are powerful! Hozier writes some fantastic socially conscious songs and Mavis Staples was such a great pick for a duet on this one. Hozier was one of the performers at her 85th birthday concert earlier this year. I'm not sure if there's video released for it but based on the performers, I'm sure they had/have to be putting it out.
Yes to all of this, and also his podcast, Cry Power, sponsored by Global Citizen. The video for Nina Cried Power features Irish LGBT, disability, civil rights, and fair housing activists (among others) listening to the song for the first time, and their reactions are powerful.
Your visceral reaction to this song is so real. That swelling feeling in the chest, the desire to callback "POWER!", the POINTING at the end!!! I do the same thing every time I listen. What a magnificent song. Brought me to tears again just now. I'd love to hear your cover if you haven't released it (I'm about to go check lol), and I'd LOVE to see you check out more Hozier. The man doesn't miss. He has a lot more collaborations in his most recent album, too, including Allison Russell and Brandi Carlile.
You are amazing to watch and listen to. Your love of music shines through, and don't even get me started on your vocals!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hozier is a phenomenal artist. He writes incredible music that’s deep and meaningful. His lyrics are poetic and have a story to tell. Who would have thought that an Irish man could bring so much soul and gospel power? You definitely should dive deeper into his catalog of beautiful songs. I would recommend “Angel of Small Death and the Codeine Scene”, “To Be Alone”, “From Eden”, “Movement”, “Almost (Sweet Music)”, “Would That I” and “De Selby (Part 2)”. This will give you a look into the variety of sounds he has. You honestly can’t go wrong with any song though.
I swear the first time I heard this it rewired my brain. And I saw him live in 2019...sensational lmao 💃🏽 I wish Miss Mavis would've been there for this song but what can ya do?
YES!!! please do, like I love Hozier very much & he did write this song but I'd really like someone who was born & bred in gospel sing it. I feel like it could do what Whitney did for Dolly Parton's "I Will Always Love You".
loving your channel, great song and always enjoy hearing your prespective, more interesting than a lot of other reactors! Would love to hear your thoughts on the song 'Vignette' from twenty one pilots new album, tyler's voice sounds great and the lyrics give a snapshot of someone dealing with addiction.
More Hozier. The most important singer, songwriter and musician of our time.

Honestly… you can’t do too deep a dive when it comes to this man!
Look up a song by Nina Simone called Sinnerman. This is the song that Nina says "I cried power".

I know it can be hard to understand. But the Irish understand the black struggle like no one else. We know and please don’t judge us all the same.
The Irish also stand with Palestine, which is so important these days 🇵🇸
Cold chisel has reformed theology
